Distillers Christmas Cocktails 2020

Marian Beke let us into The Gibson Bar, Old Street, London to show us how to make a special WCOD Christmas Cocktail! The recipe is below along some festive serves from our members.

Brandy Alexandre Dumas
50ml (Master’s Cask) Armagnac
25ml Coffee Amaro
Small scoop of your favourite ice cream
20ml-30ml Champagne
Two dashes orange blossom water (optional)
10ml simple syrup
Juice from half a clementine
Mix all the ingredients except the ice cream and champagne in a shaker with ice and shake well. Prepare a serving glass by dusting the rim with cinnamon or cocoa.
Place the ice cream in the glass and strain the drink over. Add the Champagne and drizzle the ice cream with a little melted chocolate and add a small sprig of mint to garnish.

The Glenlivet Marmalade Sour
50ml The Glenlivet Founders Reserve
25ml lemon juice
25ml egg white or aquafaba (chickpea water)
2 teaspoons orange marmalade
Add all the ingredients to a shaker WITHOUT ice and shake well. Add ice and shake again. Strain into a tumbler filled with ice. Garnish with an orange twist.

Hendricks Cranberry Fizz
50ml Hendrick’s gin
100ml cranberry juice
30ml-50ml Sparkling wine
Add all the ingredients to a highball glass with ice and mix very lightly with a spoon. Garnish with fresh cucumber and mint.

The Golden Dram by Aberfeldy
50ml Aberfeldy 12 YO single malt
2 dashes Angostura bitter
2 dashes orange bitters
10ml local honey
Stir all ingredients with ice for up to 2 minutes to dilute. Strain into a tumbler with a large cube of ice and garnish with an orange twist.
