To see the murti or vigraha as a statue is to commit one of the worst idolatry ever. It is very much how we lose sight of this Oneness or BEING or Brahman that permeates and pervades all things. He is perfectly tuned into the broadcast. What the theist hangs their body on in blind faith is what the metaphysician knows to be true through contemplation into the divisions of nature.
We are like strings upon a harp which reverberate when touched by Krishna, and that harp is very much a part of himself. With every touch comes the orgasmic experience of BEING itself. Allowing Him to play the strings of the heart like an instrument. The atheist has taken the so called criticisms of less educated theists who say that there is separation between the divine and His creation. This is why I always recommend people read either Spinoza or John Scotus Eriugena. I always recommend people read the Periphyseon.
To see beyond what seems to be the separation of things or antinomes is to VIBE. Our false perceptions and understandings of what constitute as reality themselves become idols in which we often hang our body on i.e. trust i.e. have faith in much less believe to be true. There is no greater example of another root of sin. To misunderstand or misrepresent reality is idolatry.
We can argue over tribal god images and whether they reflect reality or not as Q from Star Trek The Next Generation would have put it, or we can move past our limited perceptions of reality. It is the divine logos that permeates all things. Logos, a principle originating in classical Greek thought which refers to a universal divine reason, immanent in nature, yet transcending all oppositions and imperfections in the cosmos and humanity. An eternal and unchanging truth present from the time of creation, available to every individual who seeks it. Wisdom is the oneness of the divine mind that guides and permeates all things. Humankind does not have such insights; the divine has them.
