This may be one of the least expensive resorts at a theme park, but is it secretly awesome?! That’s a cool idea. You can get candles, oils and room sprays etc from Magic candle company and they have the different Disney rides, lands and resorts.

I love the universal value resorts. We stayed in one of the suite style rooms at Dockside back in 2022 for $85 a night with passholder discounts. Truly unbeatable.

I love the Universal resorts. You get a lot of bang for the buck. We always end up staying there and taking a Uber to Disney.
I have just returned from 14 nights here at Surfside, and it was basically faultless. As we are from England, we came for 14 nights, so the location of this hotel was actually a huge Pro for us, not a con. We wanted to be on international drive for the easier access to food options, transport, buses etc to get to sea world and Disney. The location was perfect, right on the corner of iDrive and universal boulevard. The universal perks with the iDrive location. I understand the location being a negative if you are only interested in a short universal stay though, but for us, it was amazing!

the best resort of the two. Dockside is just too big and a long walk from International Drive. We stayed for 14 days as well and had to change hotels from Dockside to Surfside because it was just too inconvenient. The food is also better at Surfside and all you have to do is walk out of the front gate on to iDrive. So convenient. I love surfside
Did you have to pay a resort fee charges or any extra charges?
I stayed Sept 2021. I stayed in the suite because we have 5 and had plenty of room. Loved that Walgreens was across the street for us to grab a case of water. Great value.

The Endless Summer resorts are absolutely amazing steals. We stayed there for an HHN weekend this past fall and I was pleasantly surprised by the dining and amenities.
We stayed here a few weeks back and then went to Cabana Bay last week and I like this hotel better. 😮 The food lines are shorter, food tastes better, service is better and the food costs less. I also think this hotel is cleaner and feels more open and airy overall and it carrys that feeling over into the rooms. I hope the new hotels that are opening in January are the same.
I love Surfside and it is the only place I stay as a solo traveler. Just got home from another week there. The food at Beach Break is so good and reasonably priced. I always order kid's meals and it is the perfect portions.
You both do an excellent job and providing real information, tips, etc. All the while having fun together. Love watching you both.
As someone who spends most of their universal trip in parks and not much time at the hotel I LOVE Surfside. Great price and the staff is always so accommodating. Have always felt that the I get way more than I pay for!
I was so impressed with Dockside! The food court, especially breakfast, was much better than at Disney's All Stars. Never waited more than 2 minutes for a bus, barely any line for a bus, employees were all wonderful, it was clean, and I felt safe as a solo female traveler. The only thing that Disney's All Stars does better is check in on your phone- have never had to check in in person at Disney, and at Dockside the check in line took 20 minutes.

They totally have Harry Potter keys! My spouse and I book the HP vacation package and we both got HP keys! We also stayed at Surfside and it was fabulous.

The Endless summer resorts are amazing. Honestly, I go durning “slow” season and I’ve waited on boats for much longer than I’ve ever waited for buses.
We LOVE dockside resort. It’s our favorite with the kids. (Even more than Cabana Bay)- but I do bring my own pillow and blanket. The blanket I use is a throw that they sell in the parks and city walk gift shop. We usually drive, but if you’re flying and limited on space, then you could get a throw blanket and it wouldn’t take up too much room.

We were staying in Orlando (not visiting the Parks) and stayed at Dockside. It was fantastic!!! From pulling into the parking lot to getting to our room took maybe 15 minutes. So easy, inexpensive, clean, and great service.
Stayed here in February, very loud but that is expected in a high volume resort. Downfalls - The walls are very thin so I could hear noises from all around us which wasn't great when trying to sleep or getting up in the morning. Beds were pretty comfortable but the pillows were too fluffy for me! Always had to wait to use the elevators. Good resort overall if you don't mind large amounts of people.
Thanks for this video. We just got back from a 9 night Orlando Universal trip mid May and we stayed off property and while we had a great time, I think the benefits of staying on property if you can afford it are pretty beneficial. When we come back in a few years after Epic Universe is open, we will definitely be checking out an on property resort.

We are fairly local(2 hrs away) but always stay the night when we come just about every month. We alternate Premier hotels with value hotels and absolutley LOVE Surfside and Dockside. Just booked a standard room for a Thursday in September and it was only $76 before tax with a FL resident discount. That same night the 2 bed suites were only $114. You really cant beat it!

Universal Value Resorts are great! I love that they have Starbucks in the resort!!! Buses are great to/from resorts to Parks! Food courts are very good too! We stayed at Dockside and loved it. Thanks for the Surfside review!

My son and I really liked Cabana Bay. I enjoyed the lazy river and he enjoyed making friends with his first squirrel. 🤣

Just noticed that Mam Fam’s room didn’t have the surfboard as a room divider, or picnic table for seating, we might have had a suite or some other class of room there. 🤔

I love leveraging the passholder discount rates. Amazing.
MAM fam, you can tell it's a soap opera not only due to the lighting, but the camera focus and the framing of shots. You get a lot of facial close ups to get reactions and, as Alan pointed out, a lot of reactive whole body language. They really do look like no other type of program.
And also when the characters get out of the shower/ gym with full makeup! 😅
We stay at Signia Bonnet Creek for conferences and the mama ducks will bring their babies into the pool. It’s so adorable! 🐥🦆
Great video, I usually stay at Cabana Bay or Aventura may pop this one in the mix now. Side note best pizza on universal property to me is the pizza at Aventura 😀
this is my favorite hotel to stay in at the moment due to it’s location. plenty of places you can walk to for dinner or drinks after a day in the park. Best part for me is that they just opened an Arcade Monsters a few doors away.

So devastated I missed Molly and Alan! I’m from New Zealand and just stayed at Surfside for a week and saw on insta that Molly and Alan were staying there too! I hung out in the lobby for hours hoping to see them but no luck :(

I was really excited to stay at Universal for the first time a couple years back and we stayed at Dockside for one night. Definitely a great price, but we found a big cockroach in our room scurrying around in the morning and had seen one in one of the hallways the night before. I’ve stayed at value resorts at Disney my whole life and have never had that happen! It was also pretty loud and I agree about the blankets comment as well, unnecessarily uncomfortable (and I’m not very picky! But there’s gotta be another cheap option for universal that is at least a slightly better). Unfortunately I don’t see myself going back for all of those reasons but especially the cockroaches. I get the heebie jeebies just thinking about it. I did stay at Sapphire Falls a year later and it was a much better experience! But still didn’t compare to Disney level of resort for me personally. To each their own though, I get that not everyone may feel the same!
Might have to check this hotel out for our next stay. And yes Molly they do have Harry Potter keyes…I got Hagrids Magical Motorobike Adventure…TM 😆
We stayed at Dockside a couple years ago. What a difference from a Disney value resort. We went at the beginning of December in 2021, and I got a two bedroom suite for about $146 a night with no discounts.
Honestly after a day in the parks.. especially if drinking is involved.. that resort pizza hits different even if it’s not the best pizza!
Great review as always. We stayed in a family suite back in January and that it was a great value for the money. Like Molly I would spend a few extra dollars and stay at Cabana Bay. Mostly a personal preference but it is a little nicer. I do find that staying at the top end hotels at Universal at not work the extra expense unless you factor in the express passes.

Family suites are great! Stayed there with 4 16 year old boys who wanted to spend all night playing video games and the wall was good enough that I was able to sleep through the game session.
I stayed here a week last year for HHN and I absolutely LOVED the hotel. The front desk staff were freaking fantastic, the food they had was really good, and it was overall a great experience. Only downside was the pillows and blankets were superrrrrrr thin. :( but they offer more if you ask :)
Is it just me or do the Universal Value Resorts looks nicer than the Disney Value resorts? And better value.
Have to say the interior design is great. It really has a beach/ surf 🏄♂️ 🌊 that doesn't come across as tacky. 😊

We stayed at Dockside and we loved everything…except the blankets dead on with that one lol
I stayed there in Jan2020 when ot was brand new & dockside wasn't open yet. I was so impressed & we only paid $105/night. Free transport. Early entry. It was great. Staff were so friendly & I'd happily go back again. Food was meh, but as a non-American I wasn't expecting much from a cheap hotel aimed at families. I got a king kong card.

I absolutely love that Molly advocated for drinking the juices as a good way of getting fruits and veggies in your diet. As someone extremely texture adverse, sometimes juices are the only way i can comsume fruits and veg, and usually get judged harshly for it. Thanks, always, Molly. ♥️

I stayed in Endless Summer and Cabana Bay within months of each other and preferred Endless Summer! The Cabana Bay room was in dire need of an update…
I stay here I love it so nice and big window and the food is so good and but I wish it do not rain so much went I was down there but it is one of my fav place to stay 😮😅😊
Looking forward to a Dockside review , we’re staying there end of October for the first time.
My brother and I take a theme park trip every year, and every time we've done Universal we've stayed at the Endless Summer Resorts! Worth every penny! We have gone during the Holiday Season right before Christmas and sharing a room, we paid $400-500 on average for early park admission for 4 days worth of theme park adventure fun. TBH we never did eat at the hotel, especially for breakfast.
We aren't big breakfast people and weren't impressed with what we saw. Besides, Citywalk was a free shuttle away and there was much better food there. We got breakfast at the Cinnabon and the Starbucks which we found better values. Seriously, that Cinnabon is a good value, and we feel like we are burning the calories walking in the park.
We didn't use the pool either because again, we stayed right before Christmas and also we chose to go to Volcano Bay instead. Why use a pool with no waves when instead you can go to a giant wave pool or arguably the best lazy river in Central Florida? Also, waterslides!
My one hang-up would be the hard floors in the hotel room. After a day of walking all day in the theme park, the hard floors were a not the best on my sore feet. I would've preferred a soft carpet instead. However, I understand economics of scale and why these 'fake wood' floors are being installed because they are both cheaper and easier to maintain than carpet, and that is why in part these hotels are affordable. Also with Dockside, not Surfside, the walk to the hotel room was very long to the free shuttle, at least for my room. Surfside seemed to be not a schlep.
