Awesome video. Would love to see some larger formation stuff. 4-Ship Eagles would be cool to see. Really makes me wish for a full-fidelity F-15C for DCS with that sweet, sweet datalink SIT page ;-;
Thanks Prez! Yeah totally, feels a bit hollow not employing as a 4-ship but all the other flights I did as a 4 I used VR which is has been crashing my OBS lately :(
@@AviationPlus Can you make more tutorials on how to BVR in the Eagle, for things like Timeline management, and building a mental image while slinging AMRAAM's at the enemy? 👀
@@Dokkaebi707 The Eagle's DLZ does not have the information I want to be able to crate a proper tutorial at the moment. But that is defiantly the plan once improvements are made.
This is a cool video, mate! Makes me want to try out BMS. I've got no interest in the falcon, but the Eagle looks great! How complete is it at the moment? Also, I noticed that some of your initial fox 3 shots were done outside of 50 miles. I'm a DCS player, and mainly fly the tomcat, so my knowledge of the amraam is limited, but isn't that way outside the effective range of the missile?
Thanks man! The Eagle is still in 'Early access' but is fully functional within the sim. Our priority updates are further refinement and addition of all radar modes. TTA/TTG and missile flyout symbology. Upgrades to AAI, SIT page/link-16 and bugfixes. As for the AMRAAM engagements, in BMS the AIM-120C envelope is much larger than in DCS. Primarily due to the battery life (120sec vs 90sec in DCS) otherwise the aero and booster data is similar. A 50nm shot in BMS against a non-maneuvering target is completely feasible. In this scenario, that shot was to force the red air to maneuver or defend so that follow up shots could be made from a range that would afford a much higher pK.
@@__Dusty_ ah, that's really interesting about the amraam. Sounds like the BMS amraam is not that dissimilar to the phoenix (when engaging fighter size targets). The timeline my squadron uses for the phoenix has our initial shots at 40 to 50 miles to push the target defensive, exactly as you've described.
Good stuff and thanks for making the video! Curious to know FL decision making especially in the initial L&L flow. If I may, some maneuver mech can be better refined; when you Crank look for at least >45 ATA ( ROT but use maximum capability of your aircraft) as to reduce down the lane range to the target, else you are not maximizing lethality & survivability (FL intercept responsibility no.1). You might get away with it on a Skate, and find yourself quickly busting MAR on a short skate flow ;). Looking forward to seeing more!
Hey Slayer, thanks for the comment! The aim was to be able to long skate and recommit without being effectively targeted but unfortunately -2 had to flow cold longer than expected so we were a little on the back foot right from the get go. Gameplan wasn't executed exactly to brief but that's just how it goes I guess. Does the 476th do much LFE style or joint squadron events these days? Would love to see some similar perspectives from DCS or even join you guys in the F-15E sometime :)
@@__Dusty_ Hey mate, I understand and nevertheless great showcase. There are a few internal LFE in the v476th; none organized in a public setting nor any joint squadron events. However, some members do participate in events like Red Flag or look to participate in another squadrons campaign (but rarely so). As for the F-15E, it is no longer active in the group due to problems with the module. (Big) IF it miraculously gets fixed they might reactivate it. I'll reach out to avoid TLDR here.
Thanks for the comment - Basically it was an educated guess, I have a fairly accurate timeline that tells me if I shoot at a certain range, I should be HPRF active by X range to target. Loose but effective enough till our avionics get more love. The timeline was devised after doing exhaustive tests in the TE editor and shooting a lot of missiles.
Love the Tacview overlay. Can't wait for Pre and Post DLZ symbology.
Also hanging out of those features desperately :)
that was a great touch

Top stuff ! Great flow and coms 👌
Now you made me want to go back to the bms grind
Do it!
Great video. Good fight!
BMS fighter pilots are more fighter pilots than a real fighter pilots 😂
What about real fighter pilot and BMS pilot together wajajaja.
You're like the only person making Eagle content for BMS 😂

@@__Dusty_nice plug. I need new eagle driver videos to watch. I’m loving this plane and bms in general
Good to see another of your videos again, been awhile. 👍
Thanks Mailman, appreciate you brother!
Great videos as usual!
The Tacview overlay is amazing. Was this achieved through masking in davinci resolve?
Thanks, just a simple mask in Adobe Premiere :)
