    It wasn’t the lack of speed bumps that killed that boy, it was the lack of parenting. Stop trying to blame the local government for your lack of responsibility

    They gonna use this to lower the speed limit to 20mph just watch. Where the parents? You know Sammy’s law, the kid that died died in similar way. Speeding wasn’t a factor. The govt and press just says that so they could pass bill. I found original article for incident. Sammy ran into the street to get a ball. The car in front saw him and stopped even tho light was green. The car behind that one didn’t see the boy just green light and went around stopped car. That’s how he died. But yet they use his case to get the speed limit dropped for a blatant money grab

    • @sudeshramdhanie6216

      And it always SO THIS WON'T HAPPEN TO ANOTHER KID AGAIN, BULLSHIT! Parents need to be held responsible , unless it's an obvious reckless driver of which there are many out there also.

    • @XancasOne
      @XancasOne 13 дней назад

      They already approved the speed limit reduction to 20 mph, which I sure will be enacted soon. This unfortunate incident will now give the excuse to drop the limit to 10 mph, which is also approved in the new bill.

    • @tattoomesam
      @tattoomesam 13 дней назад

      @@sudeshramdhanie6216 the thing is it will always happen because there are always terrible drivers that are uninsured or unlicensed. They will speed no matter what the limit is. Lowering the limit just makes it easier for the everyday driver to get caught by a speeding camera. I bet you they are going to install more cameras in the name of public safety when we all know it’s a cash grab.

    • @ssquints8056
      @ssquints8056 13 дней назад

      A 20 mph limit around a park sounds very reasonable. Cars weigh a lot, and pedestrians don't stand a chance when hit by cars, not to mention large pick ups and SUVs, at higher speeds. A drivers right to rush does not supersede a pedestrians right to survive while walking

    • @tattoomesam
      @tattoomesam 13 дней назад

      @@ssquints8056 that’s the thing it won’t only be around parks it will be citywide, like ocean parkway which will one day be 20mph speed limit where before 35-40 mph was the average speed before deBlasio vision zero bullcrap. Like I said speed isn’t the factor in most accidents it’s driver error and distraction.

    Parents are responsible. As a parent you need to watch your child when they are outside. You can't always blame the driver. You can slow down what if that was a truck . Truck is too heavy to do instant break even at 5 miles an hour. The impact of large object would kill or do seeious injuries. Parents need to take responsibility. Same rule applies in the city many pedestrians cross when they should not even if the vehicle is going less that 5 miles. City needs to make restrictions on pedestrians or fine them like in the late 80s.
