I love the idea of brunch weddings because it means I can come back to the hotel, get in my PJs, relax with my love, get room service or go out to dinner, and chill. Love these tips!
This was so helpful! We're planning a morning wedding, and I hadn't really thought too much about the lighting issues. If you're looking for video ideas, I'd love to hear about how you cover multi-day weddings where there might be events on different days that you want pictures of. I'd also like to hear if there are any things you'd need photography-wise for longer, more intricate religious ceremonies. Another idea I've seen online is doing a sort of school yearbook style portrait for each guest who's interested so that you can sneak in an excuse to get nice pictures of everyone. Do you have any thoughts on that? I think it could be really special for older family members and even for younger friends to have good headshots to look back on. Since people just don't sit for formal portraits very often unless they're in the performance industry and constantly need new headshots.
LOVED this video! I don't see many tips about Brunch weddings! I'm hoping to make some videos on my own around the topic because I'm having a brunch wedding in September and I think the concept is just so fun!! Subscribed!
This video is perfect! I have been engaged for 3 months, and am planning a morning/brunch wedding for next summer. Feeling so excited and this video was SO helpful! Any other “secret tips” I should know as a bride having a morning wedding? ☀️ let me know! Awesome video ❤️
Hey Elizabeth! Love the video, very informative. I do have a quick question though. I am considering a brunch wedding, and I do not mind possibly pushing it to 10am because of what you mentioned about the lighting. From your experience, what should I expect as far as the attire of my guests? Initially I wanted it formal for an evening wedding, but if I change it to 10am, could I still expect it to be formal or would it be best if I ask for semi-formal? Just because they would be getting up so early to get ready, I don't think they would have the time to dress formal. What are your thoughts? Thank you!
Morning weddings are usually less formal, but I think it also depends on your venue. If your venue is really fancy, then formal makes more sense even in the morning. If your venue is more casual, I might opt for cocktail attire for a morning wedding. Ultimately, set whatever you'd like but usually I see more cocktail attire for brunch weddings :)
Hi! Thanks for creating this video. I might be late to this but this is so helpful as I’m planning a daytime wedding in summer. One quick question, my venue set the cocktail hour from 12-1 pm, which means my ceremony might start 11 am. Would sun light during that time be too strong to take good photos without a tent? No sure if 11 am is a good timing. Appreciate your response in advance! :)
The light will definitely be approaching an overhead direction, so do expect it to be somewhat strong and possibly contrasty. If you can do a first look and get your portraits done before the ceremony I would recommend it. It will allow them to be done while the light is lower in the sky as opposed to after the ceremony when the light it least idea for portraits.

Definitely set your rehearsal dinner to end on the earlier side so people can rest up before the wedding day :)

I don’t see that many helpful videos , maybe it’s not a popular idea , I’m glad somebody gets me lol
:) There's definitely a place for them! They're a cute idea, especially if you're a morning person.

Cavin Elizabeth Photography Thank you so much for responding (I’m so thrilled to see this!) Yes, I’m definitely doing the first look before 10 am. :)
hi! are you saying that brunch indoor wedding pictures will come out just fine? :)
It highly depends on your photographer's skills, the lighting inside the venue, etc.
What about sunrise wedding?
Just shift the entire timeline X amount of hours earlier.
