Those burners lifting will cause an overheat. I’ve changed the red seal on combustion cover and went back the next day to the seal burnt out again. Questioned myself if I had actually changed it then see the burner had lifted, heat took out the seal again and tripped the stat.
Nice one....Those magic box are a gimmic really , back in the day customers paid a lot of money to have them fitted I think Worcester made them or put there name on them but basicly it's just a box with pipes going in and out , there's nothing magic about it apart from the magic price you had to pay for one.... 👍
unfortunitly Promax ( Prolapse's) never get serviced correctly so the rear flue ways and sump block up, retain the heat and blow seals-insulation boards-elctrodes or anything else in between. new heat ex seems to give them a few more years....... but happens again, only little tip is the small copper impulse tube from the gas valve. if any water gets in there it will knacker the valve. on a heat ex out job i tend to remove and cover the hole with a little tape just in case. Enjoying the videos, good job
Yes, if it’s a low loss header it will definitely have no coil inside it, by definition. If you look at your pipe diagram, if it had a coil, there would be no route for the flow to the rads. I’ve never fitted one, but fascinated by the bigger systems.
@@markwebb6741 yeah bit pointless sending the secondary return straight back to the primary return instead of back to the box. it's just a big square header with 'magic' written on it, one going on ebay for 800 quid lol
Why were the recently replaced electrodes and burner damaged, bit strange, I had a Baxi heat only recently that kept over heating for no apparent reason, put a new pump in that seemed to do the job not been called back since, it would just over heat randomly though, horrible boilers those to be honest.
I recently replaced them mate in a previous video These boilers get an intermittent over heat fault and usually is flue seal, door seal, sump seal I changed all them and it reduced it down to only happening once or twice but they weren’t happy so had to swap the heat ex as that was the final cause
Main heat ex blocked with crap, aluminium heat ex they all do it mate, if it’s eating through seals or burners it’ll be heat ex eventually. 😢 it’s cause it keeps all the heat in and goes through them
I went there a few weeks back and done a video on me doing flue seal, door seal, sump seal And reduced the issue to only happening twice but the hex needed to be changed that’s why I went back and replaced it Live and learn mate
Do you sub contract to the insurance company mate, or are you cards in ? It does seem madness that you’re throwing all these major components at boilers which are beyond economical repair !
I sub contract to various places and pick up jobs as theyre emailed or called through I know it seems mental but the beyond economic repair is very high so it has to stay working while the parts are available
Hi. Magic box total rip off sold to customers who paid thousands to have them fitted. Have a look at Alan Hart youtube he cuts one open it's just an empty box. Love your video's Cheers. P. D.

Great vid mate rare to have all round access to one of them horrors 😂Usually jammed in a kitchen cupboard 👍
100% was a lovely job instead of being on top of a worktop in a cupboard 😂

Wicked tip there mate!! Always great to know especially about that tube as could easily happen
Thanks for the reasons as to why it happens mate!
Good vid again. I've never seen a magic box but apparently there's nothing inside it, not even a coil, its just an empty box.
Ah fair play maybe I’ll cut 1 open if I get the chance

Would be a magic box if it had a coil , it would confuse the water 😂
Yeah, no coil inside these. They’re a huge Rip-Off!! £3-5K to fit them!!
It’s just a wee buffer tank/LLH, completely pointless on most systems.
Top man Chris... you really are fearless🤯
What was the 'fault/ repair' on the 'magic box' job...??
Top vid once again mate
Oh yeah should of added that bit 😂 basically the blue pump was weak and was taking a long time to heat the house
Quite a big propert

No pre or post purge and bad alloys in manufacture of exchanger components ,
Looking at that HEX, I do not think that boiler has ever operated within the condensing range and has been running at very high temperatures.
Main heat ex blocked with crap, aluminium heat ex they all do it mate, if it’s eating through seals or burners it’ll be heat ex eventually. 😢 it’s cause it keeps all the heat in and goes through them
Nice 1 mate! Just seems like you waste your time trying to repair it and just have to swap them out
I don’t like them boilers haha
Failing that it’ll be the top blue seal
@@snapgas9832 ohhh you’ll be back if it’s eating burners or door seals 🤦♂️
