I have to disagree with 2 things: 1) First when you talk about guitarists playing bass better than bass players playing guitar, so here is what i think, i strongly think most bass players can play guitar in an audible manner just because in almost every single case you start with a guitar instead of a bass, and even if you dont, you still need a guitar or some keys to create your songs, well, you dont NEED them but it certainly gives you much more to work with. Meanwhile most guitarrist dont have a bass at home, or some didnt even play one once in their lives, so they not only lack the muscle memory but they also lack the groove 2) And second, when you talk about the out of tune note, not everything needs to be classic, is clearly creating some intentional sound distress that gives flavor to the song, it doesnt need to be on tune to work, and if you want to go full technical then most of the notes they both play are out of tune anyways unless you play fretless.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. Why? Because you're Ellis Lamar.

Doesn’t Justin Chancellor from Tool play the bass with a pick too. I’m pretty sure he does. But in all fairness, he was an excellent guitarist first, according to Adam Jones. Maybe some habits are too hard to break? Lol
Davie is first of all a comedian, he is spreading a corner of italian comicality, based on inexpressive face and voice, around the world; and it works. However he started playing guitar and not bass 🤣
