Congratulations on winning the World Cup in your debut elite season! Winning in mountainbiking is pretty unique for someone who lives under the sealevel. It's only the Netherlands' second win, after Bart Brentjens (1994). Bas van Dooren (2nd, 2000), Mathieu van der Poel (2nd in 2018, 2019) and Anne Terpstra (3rd, 2022) came close. You're in good company!

Tsja in Nederland doen we niet aan de 'Olympische gedachte'. Het is gewoon heel simpel, je moet mee kunnen doen voor de medailles als je een hele goede dag hebt, anders wordt je inderdaad niet eens geselecteerd.
Do they whistle so you can judge how far ahead and behind the othe riders are. Not that ill ever experience that, im sure I'd die of a heart attack on the first hill. They're just carrying on a conversation like theyre sitting in a cafe somewhere.

Yeah she's pretty confident in her abilities. She did destroy the field in much of the season. So helps.

These up and down tracks always seem horrible to race on.
