Ritchie Valley, Ricky Nelson, Buddy Holley, The Big Bopper, John F. Kennedy Jr. - Madden grew up at a time when being famous seemed to be a lottery ticket to a plane crash. And he was a father.. it was also not as common a thing to do. Can't fault him for a fear of fying.

Sounds like the writer was more interested in the game story but much like EA in the 80s didn't think it would sell without Madden elements
