I'm born in Helsinki, (lived all around) but moved into Tampere 17 years ago and people here are just so relaxed. My friends come from Helsinki and see the very same what you saw in this video and ask me "are all these people here on vacation? Everybody walks so slowly like they don't have a any hurry, or need to rush anywhere in their life ?!" People in Helsinki walk like they always are already late from somewhere.. ;D I like warm, friendly people in Tampere more than people from Helsinki and the greater capital area. Also Tampere is a very beautiful summercity. All of the city center the parks and the all of the way of the both sides of the rapids - that you saw (looking like a river) from that first bridge - is full of beauty and fun. There is big museum building housing several museums under one roof, called Vapriikki, up that rapids one side.. if you re into that kind of a fun. the city sentre is between two lakes so Water activities of many kinds are there.. and the city centre offers any kind of urban fun from indoor climbing parks to escape rooms and cafes, bars, and restaurants, theaters, .. Also up the main market (the other end of the market plaza from the local bus 'station' that you noticed ) - long way buses station is a bit farther down the rapids - is one of the old factory buildings taken into the modern use, with many differentof those modern city fun things, from movie theater to a museum. :)
Best thing about tampere is that its big enough to have all the services you need, but not too big. I would never want to live in helsinki or anything bigger than that. But i also dont want to live in a small town.
Tampere is my home town, so nice to see an video where someone visits it first time and shares his thoughts. All I can say is that I agree, Tampere is very modern and beautiful small city. I especially like the new tram system, which was opened 2021. I remember when it was planning, when I was about five years old, and now finally as an university student I can travel to campus via tram. Many others quite big cobstruction projects have taken place on Tampere recently, also (new shopping mall of Ratina and the big ice hockey arena next to city-center).
I say Tampere because a lot of legendary musicians come from there. Juice Leskinen came there to do music, Eppu Normaali and Popeda started their careers there. The Manserock scene started in Tampere.
I'm soon moving to Tampere, I'm from a small city and I know nothing about Tampere so I'm scared about the move. Thanks to your video I now know a little bit how it looks
@@ramadankurbonov5015It's big but pretty, I really like living there. Still have lots of exploring to do but so far I don't really have any cons, except there are so many bars I don't know where people my age go to party lol
I love Tampere but the houses are not as old and beautiful as in meny other older places in Finland. Tampere is a very new city in Europian standars. Helsinki is a little bit older but Helsinki is pretty new too. You wen't to Hämeenlinna. That place is old. That is why it has the medieval stone castle. Same with Turku and Savonlinna and some other really old towns. That is how you know a europian town is really old. They all have a medieval stone castle. The local lords lived in those castles in medieval times.
Turku might be old historically, but tbh Helsinki gives a much better impression as an "old city". Most of the historical Turku city was wasted in the 60-80s with the ugly urbanization process that took place also in Tampere (specially in Tammela and Amuri). They removed all the old buildings and replaced them with ugly modernist shoebox blocks. You might see some nice old architecture in Turku, but it's almost always mixed with a lot of new, not-too-beautiful stuff, contrary to Helsinki, which has plenty of mostly coherent old districts (with old meaning 100-200 years).
In finnish etymology studies it is thought that Tampere's name comes from the Northern Sami language, an expression that originally meant a backwater of rapids (tempel).

I haven´t ever liked Helsinki. That´s one of the reasons why i moved to Tampere over 6 years ago. Many people from Helsiki has said that Tampere looks much more nicer than Helsinki.
Because the main street is for trams, busses and taxis only. That makes the centre of the city more pleasant. Go to google maps and you will see that Tampere is situated between two large lakes. Private cars use other ways around the centre.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In all places there is beauty and ugliness to be found. Comparing two different places, which have very different characteristics is meaningless. Tampere has lakes and Pispala like geological structures, which don't exist in Helsinki. It is also an old industrial city. Helsinki is a much larger coastal city with very different history.
Yes there is Tampere airport is located in Pirkkala municipality, in shoutern region of Tampere's sub-region, bus line 103 runs between it and city-center. It isn't very big because rail connections to Helsinki airport are quite good. But there is two terminals and AirBaltic operates from there to Germany and some other European cities. Also Finnair runs smaller inland flights from there. Tampere airport is also very important base for Finnish Airforce.

I understood the word Tampere in Fulani means to suffer. Which I was bit surprised.

While that is kinda true, there is nothing wrong with a more objective take.
Tampere is every way better than Helsinki and people around Finland who move to Helsinki they change right away to wb Helsinki.
Can you do TAMPERE UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES tour?

Does it have a airport
Yes there is airport in Tampere but its mostly focused on local airtrafic between cities of Finland
