I do understand what you're saying. To me, this comeback sounded GOT7-like, which is what I was expecting. Yet, somehow, it sounded somewhat different than what they normally do. To me, I think it's because of the fact that they're no longer restricted by JYP for the music that they can do. As a result, this song felt more honest and genuine. Like, the genuineness that the members put in this song with no restrictions just translated through. And to me, it was one of the most enjoyable songs they've ever put out because of that and I really hope they continue going down this route. I personally never cared that much for GOT7's music and I feel the restrictions and contrasting vision JYP had for them is why that was. I'll definitely have to keep an eye out for their future music if it's gonna continue down this route because it's so good! Good job, GOT7!
