I agree. This was tacky. Event planner overstepped. She should have reached out to you to make more balloons which could have build a possible relationship. We don't have to bethe jack of all trades. We can...but we don't always have to be. Beautiful work. Thanka for sharing your tutorials.
I agree, situations like this are so aggravating. There's no cohesion. It's also annoying, bc the balloon industry is already extremely saturated, now it feels like we have to compete with event planners, who are trying to do it all
Extremely saturated! I agree 100%. We have to learn how to allow the professionals in their industry do the work. Especially, if a professional was hired for the job already. No need for the event planner to do the job too. In my opinion!
First, amazing setup as usual! Second, that was very unprofessional of the event planner. Your feelings about this are valid. She told the client that she needed the colors for the menu. Then she shows up with a whole different setup of balloons. She was manipulative in her way to gain the information. You, as a TRUE professional simply wanted cohesion and was willing to do what was needed. However, that opportunity wasn't afforded to you based on the lack of information you were given. I'm sorry this happened. Keep doing what you do 👏🏾👍🏾
I totally agree with you. She should have contacted you to do more balloons to make sure the look was cohesive. Her balloons don't match and the quality clearly are not the same.
I agree with you that the event planner should not had did those balloons. That was not what she was hired for and she tried to step on your feet. Those balloons did not even look like high quality. It seem like she had a problem that you were hired to do the balloons. By the way, your set up was beautiful🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much! I’m sure it was a live and learn situation. The outside color is Wintergreen by Kalisan. The full colors are listed in description box.
The event planner is wrong. As soon as she found out the client hired a balloon stylist, she shouldn’t have brought balloons. The client should’ve called the event planner and told her to strike any balloons she brought into the venue down because it isn’t going to look right. It’s a lot going on in that venue. 🤣😂 Beautiful job as usual.
My exact thoughts!!! Strike!!! It’s not like the client hired two balloon artist, we had two different jobs and then you decided to do some of my job. Smh! Thank you babe🤍
First, amazing job 👏🏽 as always 🥰 but lets just be honest here. The client called and booked with you FIRST! (that we know of) she afterwards told you she has an event planner and NOT another balloon artist. Event planner and Balloon artist is two TOTALY DIFFERENT things (im not yelling btw, lol) Event planner clearly had a motive by asking the colors of balloons and decides to also set-up with client knowing (that we know of). To me the photos in this video are clearly two different styles, view, creativity, structure and quality. Event planner seems to have used amazon balloons (in my opinion) as they were see through and low quality. Event planner reaction (what she said) to lee the artist was clearly unprofessional and showed she knew the whole time what she was doing. The whole thing gave two DIFFERENT looks to the event, period. (In my opinion) like who wants two different unplanned looks at their event lol. Just my option. 🥰😘😘
The event planner should have coordinated with both you and the client to ensure this does not happen. Having different balloon set ups, different colours etc. does not look good
As an event planner and designer, I literally can't stand situations like this. I hate when the aesthetics aren't cohesive. Once I'm hired to design an event, its in my contract that there can't be any other designer working on the event. Especially if I don't know the other persons work, I don't want it confused with mine. It was actually kind of you to see how you could help her out for the clients sake cause you didn't have to do that at all.
These are great points! One of the reasons why I was confused is because it’s an event planner job to make sure everything is cohesive and blends well together. Whether you hired the vendor or not, it’s kind of your “set” when vendors show up to work, so to work against that expectation was a bit of a shock for me. Not at all! But my goal is always client satisfaction so I’ll do whatever within my means to provide that satisfaction.
Good morning, I’m a photographer and I had an event similar. I had asked if I needed to do the backdrop and the client said yes gave me the colors just like you I turn around and noticed another backdrop being setup with different colors. A family member had took it upon herself to do a backdrop.
Where do you find the bears and last question (sorry) I saw the video on how you made centerpieces but do you cut a hole into the balloon for the 260 to tie the bear?? I wanted to get a closer view! Thx
I purchased the bears from Amazon, they’re 15-17ins. I believe the link is under that video, as well. Yes, I cut a whole in the 11in balloon to tie a 260 to it.
This is beautiful . May I ask what string did you tie to give the illusion of it just hanging there? Fishing line? I just started following . You do gorgeous work! You have great advice Oh and I think the event planner was being shady and trying to get her balloons in the mix
Sounds like the event planner was tryna pocket the money for herself. The client didn’t even know she was also providing balloons, so that seems suspicious. I’ve recently collaborated with another balloon artist, and since she was the lead artist, I ASKED her for the exact brand and colors, so our installs would at least match
Perhaps going above and beyond at the wrong time. I’m still unsure. Yes! See a collaboration with another artist I will love and be onboard with for a big installation.
Once the event planner knew the client hired you, the event planner should have reached out to you to coordinate. Not go through the client. You all could have forged a relationship, and then boom, another great vendor added to her vendor list. Secondly, beautiful design per usual. Your setup would have looked even more stunning combined with the chair and crib setup. But again, if the planner would have reached out to you to coordinate, things would have been better. Like the same venue doesn't need three focal areas.
Yes, building relationships! Sharing your contact with future clients is another goal when working with new vendors. Agreed! The chair and crib focal point would had looked great with the setup. Thank you so much!
A few reasons, one to create a custom color, two to create a luxury look for my clients, three it looks much better then single stuff and I’m addicted lol.
The planner was unprofessional for that. The minute she decided that she wanted more balloons she should have asked for your contact. But i do feel like some planners well most lol don’t actually charge what they should or want too so they try to find ways to make additional money. The double dipping is always stressful 😭
In my opinion, she sounds like an event planner who wants to add balloon designs to her list of offerings. I think she saw this as an opportunity to promote her balloon skills maybe she didn’t understand your skill set which is unfortunate because the looks were not on the same level. As a client I would have been very upset.
As a n event decorator and occasional planner for over 10 years and professionally for the last 5 years, this was clearly a lack of communication and professionalism. I know this frustrating, as you are continuing to hone your craft and build your business but take this as a lesson learned. In the future, if possible, speak with the event planner and try to get the overall picture of what look for the event they are going for. Continued blessings to you as you grow your business.
Ok I’m going to be the one that disagrees here. There is plenty to go around. If client wants you great, if she wants event planner great, if both do balloons again great. Client can compare and know for next time. If your work good- you should have no worries- your work speaks for itself. By complaining I think it makes you appear catty. The arrangements were not next to each other and therefore no one is going to notice slight variations in color. I did not notice much color variation in the photos you posted side by side. Remember there will be different lighting and no one will be looking, pointing, comparing! I don’t think event planner has to call you- you are not the customer- her responsibility is to her customer and who else customer hires is not her business. Same goes for you. Btw I’m just a random person - don’t know you, the customer, the event planner, I’m just here to look at designs.
I appreciate all feedback and I hear what you’re saying but I disagree. If the client wanted two balloon artist, I would have kindly declined and bowed out I don’t like chaos and confusion.🤍

We can but we don’t have to be! Say that, again! I enjoy doing only what I love lol. Thank you so much🤍

That’s messed up what the party planner did.
Beautiful work per usual!

I feel your pain! This happened to me as well... I do not like confusion....
Not at all! I try to stay clear from it.
First, amazing job 👏🏽 as always 🥰 but lets just be honest here. The client called and booked with you FIRST! The event planner should have coordinated with both you and the client to ensure this does not happen. Having different balloon set ups, different colours etc. does not look good
Never looks good. I agree!!!
I agree with you 💯 I do balloons as well and it's pointless we don't do the balloons the same
Absolutely!
Beautiful, the center piece stand, where can I find it
Thank you! The centerpiece stand I made myself. I’ll link the centerpiece and stand tutorial in the description box.

Where do you find the bears and last question (sorry) I saw the video on how you made centerpieces but do you cut a hole into the balloon for the 260 to tie the bear??

Yes, I used fishing line to attach the balloons to the frame. Aww thank you so much! I’m happy to hear you’re enjoying the videos. Lol!

What inflator do you use to inflate your double stuffed?
Can you do a video about types of inflators
I use the Cool Aire for the larger balloons and a Lagenda for my 5in balloons. Those are the only two main brands I use, right now.
I can’t believe she did that to you
Was you inside a mall doing the balloon’s
Live and Learn! Yes, the venue was inside a mall.
Why do you double stuff the balloons
A few reasons, one to create a custom color, two to create a luxury look for my clients, three it looks much better then single stuff and I’m addicted lol.
The planner was unprofessional for that. The minute she decided that she wanted more balloons she should have asked for your contact. But i do feel like some planners well most lol don’t actually charge what they should or want too so they try to find ways to make additional money. The double dipping is always stressful 😭
Beyond stressful and this was my first encounter. Lol!! A simple phone call was all that was needed. One band one sound!!
In my opinion, she sounds like an event planner who wants to add balloon designs to her list of offerings. I think she saw this as an opportunity to promote her balloon skills maybe she didn’t understand your skill set which is unfortunate because the looks were not on the same level. As a client I would have been very upset.
That sounds about right. There is a time and place for everything🙌🏾
I think it was about money, maybe she was tryna save client some money or she was tryna keep some
Idk, the client hired me and paid me separately so it wasn’t her decision to save the client money when she wasn’t the one playing me.
Yours look waaaay better. I would be upset if I was the client because you can tell it's not from the same person. Colors don't even match
Awww thank you!! 🤍
It’s Giving She didn’t like the fact that she hired another balloon artist and Wanted To Show You Out and Had Nothing Else To Say …. Very Very Weird
Which is not my fault and you still have to respect the client wishes.
As a n event decorator and occasional planner for over 10 years and professionally for the last 5 years, this was clearly a lack of communication and professionalism.

Yuck. Collaboration can be so wonderful and SOOOO easy. Sorry that planner did this.
So easy! The end goal is all the same for us. Client satisfaction!!!

I'm annoyed FOR you. Lack of communication is crazy.
