Practical Printing- Designing and 3D Printing a nylon gate latch

My uncle installed a gate on our deck this summer to keep my kid from tumbling down the stairs. However, most times the gate needs to be open so the dogs can get to the back yard to do their business. The gate would continuously be blown shut and I 'd have to go out in the cold to open it back up. How can we use 3D printing and Taulman Bridge Nylon to solve this problem?
