Imagine someone just chilling at a park when they see some lady in a creepy mask with a dead crow go past and all the other crows gathering around like it's some sort of ritual
A crow was stuck in my grandma's chimney behind the flue. I got him out with gloves and a mirror and when I took him outside there were dozens of concerned crows making a ruckus. As soon at I let him go they all gathered around him in the same tree. It was very obvious they were concerned and quite intelligent.
I have seen a crow funeral. I feed the crows and have done so for many years so they always feel safe in my yard, the 30 tall trees doesn’t hurt either. Several years ago our cat had a very remarkable kitten, his name was Orion. He was black like the crows, and black like his mother. He was not allowed out but eventually he got out because he was a curious and spirited boy. One morning I woke up to find 100+ crows in the trees in my backyard all of them doing their Funeral cry. My heart sank because I could not find a Ryan and I had some inkling of what was going on, I walked outside I circled the block and they’re on the busy road way behind my house with my baby Orion he had died. The crows called me and told me that he had passed and they stayed for sometime. Sure he was black like them, but on some level I think they understood that he was my baby and they were sad on my behalf. I will never forget that morning or how it felt.
@Liam Caruana well i guess its how you pronounce it. But the one wowel is o and the other is e. Maybe similiar word thingy cant remember whats its called.
Oh this is why the crows would always be loud when my cat was outside, they remembered for years that he once killed one of them. I thought they were only bullying him but they were protecting eachother
You'll also notice that crows give a minor danger call for cats (seeing them as a small threat) but a much more pronounced danger call for humans, recognizing that we pose a much greater threat to their safety. It's like: "caw caw caw" when a cat is wandering through the yard and "CAW! CAW! CAW!" when a human steps outside. :)
@@taekwondotime That's not true at all. It's quite the opposite. Cats kill vastly more crows than humans do. When one of my pigeons died, her mate was very upset. He wouldn't leave her side as she was lying on the floor. He kept walking around and around her, looking at her from all angles. After I moved her, he was still wandering the area looking for her. They can be very intelligent but they are also prey animals, so in the wild they are too wary to linger in one spot and allow themselves to be distracted for long.
Darcey Mussey, I raised mostly white homers years ago and now I have pet chickens. My neighbors thought they were doves, which was the idea. Recently I told a friend it's too bad this hobby is gone since people are more interested in electronics. My only problem now is I don't eat chicken anymore but I don't fault anyone who does. I just can't do it.
Prey animals tend to be dumber than predators. Dolphins eat fish and even whales, remember, and humans hunt everything. Elephants are pretty much the only exception I think of a smart herbivore.
Great, now I'll be haunted by a masked woman carrying a dead crow in my nightmares from now on... she looks like the female version of leatherface in that thing holy Christ.
As soon as I saw it my first thought went to Leatherface. Definitely not something _I’d_ want to see while at the park, especially if dozens of crows were squawking warnings about her high up in the trees.
Pigeons do this too...but pigeons recognise members of their community. I've watched pigeons all my life, their sense of community is incredible and they never forget a face.
I witnessed an incident like this 20 years back. They gathered in a circle and as if mourning for the dead, they just lowered their heads for a few seconds
I had this experience with crows when I , along with my friend tried to rescue a not so grown up crow, recover from its fall from a tall tree( believe me when I say it was tall) . The moment we picked the bird up and put it on a pile of clothes or smth, a bunch of other crows gathered on the trees nearby and began doing their crow funeral stuff. God ,was it loud! I now have to think twice before helping another crow in need.

I sat and watched a murder of crows attack a hawk for over and hour because the hawk had one of their comrades in his talons. They truly look out for each other. I wish I had friends like that
I have observed a crow funeral and walked into the middle of another funeral. Both were very quiet and respectful. The one I attended must have had at least 500 to 600 crows. Every one of them were silent for hours. Except 1 crow that was wailing. It sounded like the crow was weeping for their loved one. Still gives me the chills 12 years later.
Awesome video! I witnessed something similar with ibis' where one had died in a lake and eels were starting to notice it. Other ibis' crowded the water's edge where it was and seemed genuinely disturbed. Animals are far more intelligent than most give them credit.
Saucy Doggo No they didn't It's that the crows that have seen her holding the dead crow associated her with danger and sounded the alarms when they saw her again When crows saw her again they sounded the alarm again which alerted new crows that she is danger making the sound themselves Now if one of them was miles away with another murder and it saw the mask again it will sound the alarm and new flock will be introduced to the danger
Blobstermob in the park She was experimenting in the same park Some crows weren't there the first time it happened but in the second time when they were accompanying the ones that were present And they have seen the reaction they learned to associate it with danger
Khaled Hudhud Yes that's what I said. I stated even the crows who weren't there the first time associated the mask with danger. It was implied that their reaction was based off the other crows.
lol you were quite clear in your first message, no idea why some people don't read carefully before replying. And by the way, that conclusion from the experiment is remarkable. They can transmit knowledge for generations!
When I was a kid I used to scare the shit out of crows in my yard with sticks and rocks. Those crows had always remembered me and screamed crazy whenever they see me. Even their offsprings to this day still make noises when they see me in the yard, even though they haven’t seen me bothering them. They can pass down information from generation to generation and they also recognize human faces.
Thrre is a story here published in the newspaper about the problem of crows in the neighbourhood. One of the man living there chased some group of crows and accidently killed one of them. So each time he went out they attacked him.
The word 'murder' makes the crow group sound cooler/darker than they really are. Although I am a big fan of the movie 'The Crow' starring Brandon Lee, a 90s comic book film classic.

Crows and ravens are some of the most intelligent birds out there! It was a good thing she wore the mask, because they recognize the faces of those who will help or harm them! Such gorgeous, intelligent creatures! ^^
I walked up on a single crow standing over another dead crow in what i would have to describe as much more than just survival instinct or investigation. The way it looked at me and then back down at what I imagine was its family seemed to show deep emotion. These are smart birds..
That would be a bad idea. Crows can remember faces for a few years and will hold a grudge. If she wants to go to that park without getting harassed she shouldn’t do that
It's possible that they might recognize your eyes, body posture, and height, even your clothes. Crows do have much better eyesight and possibly better long term memory than us humans.
Should've had a control run in the beginning with only the mask and no peanuts or dead crow, just to get a baseline for how creepy the mask is on it's own

Also crows bury there dead , The crow is mentioned in the Quran for burying another crow , when the son of Adam killed his brother he didn't know what to do to the body and was in shock so he saw two crows fight then the left one burried the dead after digging its grave , the son of Adam named qabil said ....i couldn't even be like this crow and he felt regreting.
You know what the Spanish say, "Raise ravens and they'll peck your eyes out". Not exactly crows but still members of the same corvid family. Symbols of death. I find them slightly fascinating but mostly ominous and scary.
One of the smartest animals on the planet. Sweet vid!
smetlogik Sometimes smarter than humans :-P

Crows don't bury their dead, just for reference.
It's a bird! Why does animal always get the credit! It's a BIRD! And as a member of BIRDS UNION, I take offense!
Mohammed Sami bruh don't reference the Quran as a scientific source, that's foolish.
The music in every episode is very well made and is exactly written for that episode. This show is a gem
Darcey Mussey Being a prey animal - that’s a brilliant point
Same thing happened with my pigeons.whenever one of the mating pair members died it’s mate would mourn for days looking for it.
Prey animals tend to be dumber than predators. Dolphins eat fish and even whales, remember, and humans hunt everything. Elephants are pretty much the only exception I think of a smart herbivore.
Doves choose their mates for the rest of their life, like if their partner died, they won't look for love anymore lol
Great, now I'll be haunted by a masked woman carrying a dead crow in my nightmares from now on... she looks like the female version of leatherface in that thing holy Christ.
Glad I'm not the only one lol
As soon as I saw it my first thought went to Leatherface. Definitely not something _I’d_ want to see while at the park, especially if dozens of crows were squawking warnings about her high up in the trees.
That’s what I said before scrolling down. I imagined being a kid running into this creepy sight.
Some even sing and dance
Anand Sravanam some wear black
Racist Billy heck yeah

Oof
Okay but if I saw a lady dressed like a horror movie villain carrying a dead crow I would RUN
At a crow funeral, the birds are buried in CAW-ffins
There they stay awake by drinking cawfee!
ehhhh, not really that *emusing* of a pun
Oh no. Here we go.
Well, when somebody croaks...

I think this is one of the best videos to date.
Wow it really is!!! This channel is getting better and better it's amazing
I know, every time I watch their videos, there's a big smile on my face.
Have you asked the Video for a date yet?
I watch their videos everytime so i get more knowledge than the knowledge i get in school! I learn so much in the internet and especialy in their videos! I really love science so i watch most of their interesting videos before my online class will begin. Thank you Deep Look for this! Its very helpful! And im proud that the narrator sounds like she likes the topic she is talkinv about every time! Her voice is really soothing. Its like she is not bored of what she is saying at all compared to the other narrators of videos. Keep up the good work!
Someone remind me I want crows instead of doves at my wedding.
There are also white crows lol
@L T Albino Crows aren't too rare actually, but because of their colour, they are often alienated and isolated from other Crows... This way, they can't find a mate who will accept them to pass on the Albino Gene; they become forever loners 😭😭😭

Crow is literally a real depiction of Skyrim guards, when you committed a crime, you either pay the fine (peanut) or pay with your blood.
I would be hella wary as well, that mask was terrifying
I've always admired crows. Despite the paranoia and fear of them, throughout history.
Jared Smith, one decided to swallow my toy car, it could have been the seagull that I dunked in black paint though.
And, With smart science , we all came to know that it was only a matter of community learning about dangerous places or figures!
I sat and watched a murder of crows attack a hawk for over and hour because the hawk had one of their comrades in his talons. They truly look out for each other. I wish I had friends like that
I always wanted a video of crows
They always amaze me, now I can show other why I like crows.
Ammar Khan Same here! They truly are magnificent
If 3 or more crows is a murder of crows..... what’s 2 called?
Attempted murder.
And if one of the crows is into Yoga, that's premeditated murder.
Banished From The Dwarf Planet Noice!
Manslaughter of crows
A pair
That was awful.. I love it
I have observed a crow funeral and walked into the middle of another funeral.
It depends on the animal; clearly pigeons are not that intelligent.
Haha agreed, they're pretty oblivious.
Pigeons have been known to exhibit a high level of intelligence,I guess they just don't care.
nmheath03 pigeons definitely care. They can die of sadness because they refuse to eat if their mate dies.
Oh wow! I didn't expect to see you here! Seems like 3D printing is gonna haunt me everywhere I go 😂😂
What's interesting is that they were able to describe the mask to the other crows so that they all knew it was dangerous.
Saucy Doggo No they didn't
It's that the crows that have seen her holding the dead crow associated her with danger and sounded the alarms when they saw her again
When crows saw her again they sounded the alarm again which alerted new crows that she is danger making the sound themselves
Now if one of them was miles away with another murder and it saw the mask again it will sound the alarm and new flock will be introduced to the danger
Khaled Hudhud They mentioned that even crows that didn't even see the mask or dead crow associated the mask with danger.
Blobstermob in the park
She was experimenting in the same park
Some crows weren't there the first time it happened but in the second time when they were accompanying the ones that were present
And they have seen the reaction they learned to associate it with danger
I really find crows beautiful.

Honest Asian Guy and he died on set, which is opening a conspiracy now
Now we know why crow always sound Ahh...Ahh...Ahh...
seems something sad and scary that disturbing to them
You know this fact is truly scary
I mean are crow see angel of dead when people dead or what haha
Also penguins mourn the death of their children and other penguins tend to comfort them 🐧
*The Troubling Incident of The Human in The Mask: by Worby the Crow.*
I’d scream if I saw someone in that mask too!
Whenever Halloween arrives, I'll see so many of them perched on a old dead tree.
A murder of crows reacts to a murder
😂👍
I got more scared than the crows when I saw the lady with the mask
The human equivalent is a random dead man and thousands of people swarmed around talking about who or what killed him
It’s amazing how those beautiful, intelligent animals are more respectful and protective of their dead then a lot of humans I know.
The creepy music does make the mask even scarier XD
Even when it's playing at the same time as the happy curious music ha ha ha !
Man kills a crow
Crows:Oh my god he killed Jerry
Man puts on mask
Crows:It's ok he's friendly
I love crows theyre so interesting, theres a lot of things that they can that will shock you. Good job Deep Look keep up the goodwork 😄

I get why she used a mask, But why in the world THAT MASK. If I saw her I would scream aswell
probably because its more entertaining
Crows recognize faces

Imagine befriending crows then when you die one gives a eulogy at your funeral
Apparantly, crows have better memories than me ;____;

I don't think you would forget that mask when someone wearing it carries a dead body around your house xD

Horror movies and religion has played an important part in destroying Crows and Raven's reputation. These are intelligent birds.
That mask is spooky. Regardless of dead bird. Can't blame them.
I have no crows in my country but I thought crows were scary when they make a sound like that , I never knew that crows were very smart ! Thanks for this video !

This episode was fascinating and left me wanting more, a lot more.

Good timing too, Fallen Kingdoms almost out
You're going to get eaten now that you've said that.

Pigeons just ain't got no time for that.
They have a different social structure to crows. It might also be a different reaction they are having, not enough info to say 'they don't react.'
"some never even saw the dead crow but they still learn to associate her with danger"
I also associate that mask with danger
I try to imagine what people thought seeing her wear that mask and walking around with a dead crow...
Mind blown 🤯

I came home from work one morning around 7a.m. and I heard all these crows in the trees all gathered together. It was really cool and really eerie at the same time. So I went to my computer and looked it up. I believe it was a crow funeral. I love crows their intelligence amazes me.
Crows and ravens are some of the most intelligent birds out there! It was a good thing she wore the mask, because they recognize the faces of those who will help or harm them! Such gorgeous, intelligent creatures! ^^
Twist is she actually killed someone and is wearing their face..
Thank you for that disturbing thought. =/
She's both doing this for the crows and humans.

I walked up on a single crow standing over another dead crow in what i would have to describe as much more than just survival instinct or investigation. The way it looked at me and then back down at what I imagine was its family seemed to show deep emotion. These are smart birds..
I wonder how will the crows react when the lady takes off the mask in front of them..
Ameera Vlogs they'd probably never eat peanuts again, haha
They'd feel so betrayed!
That would be a bad idea. Crows can remember faces for a few years and will hold a grudge. If she wants to go to that park without getting harassed she shouldn’t do that
Weirdly they’re pretty unphased by it
It's possible that they might recognize your eyes, body posture, and height, even your clothes. Crows do have much better eyesight and possibly better long term memory than us humans.
Should've had a control run in the beginning with only the mask and no peanuts or dead crow, just to get a baseline for how creepy the mask is on it's own
calohtar There is a crow documentary where they did this experiment in more detail. You should check it out if you are interested.
The Red Salamander secret life of crows or the natgeo one?
Never mind it's called "a murder of crows" by nature. Even the same creepy mask in the thumbnail!

Why does a particular crow come to my house at a certain time everyday? Now, I always carry some peanuts in my pockets just for that crow...
