I'm new to Twitch, my account isn't even a year old yet, and I have never heard of this JustaMinx person until last night when I was watching it happen on stream. What I am getting out of this is she is someone who was previously relevant, is now irrelevant, and is doing or saying anything she can to get back into the spotlight.

The extraemily situation largely has to do with the culture. Asian cultures do this, as well as other cultures that highly respect their family and elders. The parents sacrifice early to help the children prepare for adulthood. When the kids get old, it's their turn to take care of their parents, however best they can. Some people may not understand this and that's fine. However, these values are normal to us and for the majority of us that's grown up with that type of upbringing we try to give back what we can even if the parents have no plans on using the money returned from promised loans. Funny enough, most Asian parents that take back these types of loans, they set that money aside to give back to their children. It's like them nesting the emergency fund so to speak. They'll rarely spend any of us unless they really need to in order to survive.

Not really, If you see Maya and Miz today you realize they are not compatible, completely different goals in life. Imagine your entire life your parents said you will be X,Y, or Z and fund you to be those things, whether you like it or not, only for you to end up doing none of them because you never felt like you had a choice in your life. The extraemily situation largely has to do with the culture. Asian cultures do this, as well as other cultures that highly respect their family and elders. The parents sacrifice early to help the children prepare for adulthood. When the kids get old, it's their turn to take care of their parents, however best they can. Some people may not understand this and that's fine. However, these values are normal to us and for the majority of us that's grown up with that type of upbringing we try to give back what we can even if the parents have no plans on using the money returned from promised loans. Funny enough, most Asian parents that take back these types of loans, they set that money aside to give back to their children. It's like them nesting the emergency fund so to speak. They'll rarely spend any of us unless they really need to in order to survive.

I was short on cash when getting my first apartment, 20 and didn't have any family to stay with, so asked my dad to help me out with the 1000 I needed for the down payment. He said sure, just get it back to me when you move again. Five years later when I told him I was moving his response, "oh great, when the landlord gives you the check for the safety deposit just give me cash back for the 1000, thanks." Theres a difference. If I begged my parents to send me to 100k flight school to become a Pilot, whether I was succesful in that field or not, I would 100% pay them back when I could for supporting my dream. However, If my parents forced me and guilt me into going to it, but I fought tooth and nail to pursue my other passions and become succesful in another field, I wouldnt feel as inclined to pay them back.
Parents shouldnt be taking on massive loans for their child under the guise of good intentions with the expectation to get repaid for them.
