Next year, the "end this year" goal was aspirational, between many delays and the previous arc taking longer than expected, properly finishing Aerois this year is very unlikely now.
SPOILERS What a creative episode from Mark, letting everyone develop 'temp characters' of a sort and effectively nerfing their magic and abilities for a time so that they have to rely on rp and social stuff more. Cool way to up the challenge for high level characters! Also a super cool changling character, we love Kay. Also love that Sentry is pretending to be a guard who effectively protects plates.
Shansara is gonna be such a cool villain. I love it when enemies are bards! (or rangers, or any archetypical player class other than a wizard/sorcerer/warlock). Plus I'm sure Mark will have lots of fun letting out his inner mean girl XD

I think Mark and Aabria both got it from the Shadowrun system - I remember Mark using a similar feature back during the Stream of Many Eyes for the heist one-shot he ran!
Has it ever been stated roughly how many years ago it was that Vortinssar was transported? It seems like an ancient history type thing but, with the older generation wanting to go back, has it happened during their lifespan?
I think it's around 100 to 150 years ago, outside of living memory but the older generations would of been raised by those from Genas, so they'd have a idealized image of it. It has to be under 500 years, as that's when the Sundering happened and it can't be too soon as Genas was not part of the Empire when Vortinsaar moved while now they're members of it.
Yeah that's pretty much my issue too. The new generation thing makes it sound rather recent but early on it sounded as if it was longer. Though I don't know that I agree about their relation to the Empire. There has been racial discrimination on Aerois about them being members of the Empire. And they have access to magitech unlike the rest of the planet. They were cut off from the Empire but reformed that political alliance when Valkyrean extended the offer to anyone on Aerois who wished to join him willingly.
1:26:46 gods, i wanna live there so bad :( instant change, permanent after a month. been on t for like a year and a half and all i have to show for it is some stubble and slightly lower voice (and no period, which is admittedly very nice)
i disagree with the idea that they can't buy themselves time. they absolutely can, if they find some way to sabotage the machine. anything that could delay the activation. also if they do something that forces them to activate it earlier would cost them time.
Mark is such a brilliant DM and lovely human, finding a way to allow the characters and therefore players to play with gender expression. It was so respectful and I love to see a cool non-binary character. Its such a inclusive thing to do and a great example to DMs everywhere.
1:26:38 Question especially for anyone who's watched/heard of High Guardian Spice (HGS), If you haven't heard of HGS I'd still like to hear thoughts. The chemical agents seem like what the transgender character professor Caraway featured with a potion. What's people's personal reception of these potions/chemical agents? I noticed backlash against the way it was done in HGS, is there similar resistance to it here? Two things against it some people have said is a potion that changes gender that wears off is jarringly inefficient in a world of magic and it seemed forced in to the story, thoughts on it in this context? Does the perception of HGS as a whole, with bad animation and the creators that rubbed people the wrong way etc., influence thoughts on professor Caraway's potions vs K's chemical agents?
Not loving recent content. The narrative just keeps losing focus and drifts into cross game chatter. Sometimes doing this is great but this has turned into non stop banter. Please refocus.
They had a long bout of seriousness and immediatism with the Khellara arc, it's only natural to relax a little in the in-between, and planning sessions in dnd are always all over the place and chaotic especially at high tier play where there's so many options. They're going to get in the zone again as the mission begins
Reminder that they’re people playing DnD. The average game is just as chaotic. They’re just being friends when they’re in a less dire situation in game. Not that deep. Also their game. They can be as silly they want. If you decide it’s not for you, then stop watching
Appreciate all the feedback. Have played D&D, as well as multiple other RPGs, since the 80s. Have literally watched all the content on this channel as well as content these individuals are involved in on other channels, some multiple times. Recognize games can get side tracked; however, because I love the gaming emersion I normally get from High Rollers games I expressed my opinion that things were getting a little side tracked (this episode and a bit the one prior). If you watch this video I feel there are times Marc sees things are going a bit off the rails and he tries to refocus the game. I thought the most recent (Halloween) episode was fantastic. Still has the friendly chatter... and Tom's idea of separating the party for the interrogation and then trying to be funny by sitting in Trott's chair only to screw himself by not having his notes, was amazing. This is why I love this channel and these individuals. I just had an opinion on the last couple of episodes and I still don't think I was wrong. Also, for the record... while I have often DMed/GMed the only character kills I keep track of was when I caused a TPK in the 1st or 2nd game of a new campaign despite trying to cheat to not make it happen. We were playing online (Roll20) with open dice rolls and literally my roles were unstoppable.
