Dave Gleeson came from my hometown of Cardiff, New South Wales, Australia. I knew his younger sister Angela and his father Paul well. His father was not happy with his involvement in the Screaming Jets, and that was the reason for the lyrics in the song "Better". It was all about his strained relationship with his father. My late wife and ! even played music with Dave Gleeson at, would you believe, the 50th anniversary celebration of our Catholic parish in 1989. I have to agree that they were a great band!
That's funny for me cause i just listened to this song thinking of the troubles im having with my dad. Unfortunately im not in a successful pub rock band, he has 3 kinds of cancer & is resisting treatment. You take the laughs where they come at times like these so thankyou.
dave is doing the rock show on various radio stations round the country atm. good to hear the blokes voice. thats for sure. they need to bring out another album. australias most underrated band ever. these guys should have been huge.
