  • In this tutorial I'll show you how to replace a Lennox Draft Inducer Motor assembly (93W13) and fix a rollout switch! This repair will cost you about 60% less and take about 15 minutes with only basic tools and no special knowledge.

Thanks for video - FYI for DIY guys looking for replacement inducer assembly. The Lennox price for replacement was a little over $ 700.00 US / found Packard replacement @ Grainger $ 230.00 US. 😃

I have this exact furnace (same condensate leak!), installed 2012, has the Armstrong Air badge on it. I have to replace that pressure/vacuum switch every 2 years, fails like clockwork. I have 2 on-hand for when they fail. I just did the inducer motor today as preventative maintenance ($479 cad with install kit, delivered). Thanks for the tips on the other sensors.

Where does the water on the deck below the blower come from? I have that problem and have been somewhat successful in catching it in a makeshift shallow "pan" against the wall and then siphoning the water every morning into a container. Sometimes it leaks into the deck area. It seems to come from the blower connection to the PVC exhaust... Did you notice this when you replaced the blower? I see you don't seem concerned with your water in that area. Otherwise, good info. Next summer I'll remove the blower and investigate my water source if you can't enlighten me...

Chris thanks for the video. I just replace my Lennox inducer and it also didn’t have a gasket. I now want to put one on and don’t want to pay the outrageous price. Do you remember how thick the gasket was and what material it was made out of so I make one?
    Thanks
    Dan

I'm going from memory here but It resembled double-sided foam tape like what you'd buy at the hardware store and about the same thickness... maybe 3-4 mm?

Thanks for this video. My furnace is a LENOX EL195UHE. When looking for a replacement inducer assembly (7021-12686) I got a lot of hits, but every source was out-of-stock! Looks like this part FAILS A LOT! (I've ordered something very close (7021-11686) which is coming tomorrow.)
MY QUESTION: Is this planned obsolescence? Electric motor driven fans are not complex things. Surely such a motor should last much longer than this. All it's doing is pulling a little air. There can't be much of a load. Who designs these things?

When endured motor goes bad do you need to change the whole furnace? My furnace is over 40 yrs old

what do you mean by "endured" motor? There is an exhaust motor and a blower motor for the house. You don't need to change the whole furnace if only 1 component goes bad. You can if it's 40 yrs old and you don't want to deal with constant maintenance but if you are mechanically inclined, just fix what breaks. I had my exhaust motor and my pressure sensor fail within months of each other. I changed both and now things are fine again.

@@ChrisCamaro thanks, I meant ‘Inducer motor”. I feel the plumber wanted extra money, I’ll deal with it piece especially I don’t have $5.5k to replace the whole furnace now. Thanks a bunch

@@streetcruise9807 You can get the inducer motor for a couple hundred dollars and install it for free so much better option than getting a pro to do it. They will rip you off hard. You'll spend over 1k for that 1 repair.
