When things like this happen the penalties should be corporate dissolution (all assets to the government to be kept and used or sold at auction); all executives and board members go to prison for a minimum of 5 years; all executives and board members are permanently banned from owning an entity or being an executive or board member of any entity that conducts business in the US (even indirectly) or has US investors; and finally, the fines/settlements must be the true damages total multiplied by at least 10 plus interest and inflation adjustments - to be split by the victims and the government.

Can you imagine being that evil that you think "Hey, I can make a bundle buying these properties and screwing over the tenants. Just collect rent and ignore/refuse to make repairs." Again - the "Let The Eat Cake" crowd shows how disgusting they are. It made me sick just looking at them walking with their kids. Their whole demeanor screams "We are better than you because we know how to make money on the backs of others less fortunate."

Tenants could not pay court costs. Repairs should be done but tenants undo them in weeks. Constantly repairing costs more than evictions. Get the whole story.

I imagine that many of the tenants are at least partially dependant on help from Welfare programs. My fear is that any $$ awarded will just be taken out of their next check. 😑

Finally. I watched the documentary and couldn't believe that these practises remained unpunished. Finally justice 👍

Money should NEVER be the only punishment where human beings unnecessarily suffer. They should be given a mandatory minimum jail sentence of 20 years. That's the only way to clean up this disgusting predatory business practice that is all good common.
