From the first day on your ship until now, you are no longer the same. You are a real captain from now on. It's a pleasure this one. to experience the development. It is not always easy for a sailor's bride. Before, a good husband, now a sea wolf.
One chapter closing, and another begins. The rock of Gibraltar looks amazing. Touring the old tunnels around there is supposed to be spectacular. Supposedly almost more tunnels below ground than streets above.
Just amazing Mark! I feel like I've been on Awanui NZ with you for the whole journey! Thanks for sharing with us! Wonderful to see Gibraltar and look forward to the next leg of your odyssey!
What an epic journey so far. I’ve truly enjoyed every moment you have shared; the sunrises, the sunsets, the beautiful and historic scenery all along the way, the coffee’s and the pastries, the various marinas and villages and so much more but especially your absolutely stunning drone footage that have shown us places we never would have seen otherwise! Thank you and so looking forward to what’s next! Stay safe!
ok two guesses regarding the knitting needles Mark, *1 a cunning plan to fix your stabilizer issue *2 going to give up with the rod and knit yourself a fishing net...
Dear Mark and your entire family. What an amazing journey👏. I saw your channel by a coincidence 1,5 week ago and have now seen all episodes already. Couldn’t hardly sleep, work or being social - got serious addicted 😮. And to be honest I had my own little crises when you braked the news, that your lovely wife Fiona would not be full time with you. My wife actually noticed, that I got a kind of a “small depression” - bad mood for some days on your behalf. I’m happy to see, that you get along and live goes on 🙏. I will go to Spain on January 1st, but unfortunately you have moved on at this time - I would have loved to drop by to see Awanui NZ in real life. I wish you all the the best at your journey ahead of you - stay safe and healthy. I have mad a goal to get the chance to say hallo to you and Awanui NZ before you reach NZ - dreams are important in life, right? All the best from Denmark 🇩🇰
Thank you so much for your amazing support. Quite a journey so far and I feel there are a lot of followers out there with and supporting me. Would love to catch up.
What a nice surprise... another video from Mark.... You have now sailed from Turkey to Gibraltar!! Crossed the Med, and ready to enter the Atlantic - not a small achievement!! Really well done!! And the small issues on the way is a testament to Nordhavn - especially the way they have supported you an the 1st' N51... Really really looking forward to your first atlantic videos - not to mention the Bay of Biscay .... Thanks for your continuous willingness to share...!!
Great footage of the dolphins. Your Mediterranean videos were epic. Hopefully the weather will hold for your next stage on your journey. Cheers 🥃🏴
Thank you. Just about to enter Portugal and the weather so far is amazing. Had to wait a few days in Gibraltar for the right window but it is here. Will be the way I operate in these parts over the winter…one sheltered spot to the next.
I can't thank you enough for taking us along on your amazing adventure. I hope you're managing to see some of the cricket (we had to allow Tim Southee a win in his final test 😉). Wishing you calm seas.
What a trip across the Med! I am trying to catch up from the start, but your playlist is in reverse order. You can sort on your end from oldest to newest for people that want to binge from the start. Cheers!
What a beautiful weather coming into Gibraltar and as a last farewell all the dolphins in the Med riding your bow. Amazing. Be safe out on the Atlantic, hope you read the website I posted about sailing the Portugese coast and well as the website where you can check the status of the ports before you set out to your next destination. As far as I know Portugal is the only country where they have a traffic light system to indicate whether ports are open or closed due to weather. Btw, have to congratulate you: New Zealand has another Formula 1 driver, Liam Lawson is driving for Red Bull next season, quite an accomplishment.
Hi Mark, maybe a silly question,is there any differance of seaward navigation to aircraft navigation exept for the obvious bouys ect? thankyou,Jimi Mackay.
Mark please do not take any chances when travelling in Atlantic during winter. I have been tossed around like a cork in the sea in a 400 meter plus container ship near Bay of Biscay on route to Europe. Sea gets very bad in this area during winter.
@ it was where the border was fully closed the only way we could get to Spain was the get the ferry to Morocco’s and then the ferry to Spain but we loved it there are daughter was born there now she is in her 50s have a good forward journey maybe call into Bangor northern NI love your videos
Are you the only two guys on board? Standing on the foredeck tooling with a drone, leaning over the rails, and no life vests. Would be cool to watch the boat driving away wouldn't it. Yeah, a perfect stranger giving you shit. What more can you ask? Risk = likelihood x consequence
Just totally amazing Mark! Great job sharing your incredible journey with us all!
Thanks so much! It's been a great journey to share.

Apparently around 100km of tunnel.

Great to have had you along. Atlantic Coastline of Europe here we come
After watching the video I have an extreme case of envy Mark.
Just an aeroplane ride away! Left Gibraltar this morning.
Gorgeous dolphins

Thanks so much for such positive feedback. The Med was amazing and I will never forget our experiences there….wonder what is ahead.
Wow. What a journey. Congrats Mark. Gib runway is the only airport where I’ve had abortive landings due to cross winds
Yip it can blow there…not long either
Momentous! Major accomplishment, ending a long, enjoyable cruise through the Mediterranean. Well done Mark.
Thanks so much it has been amazing
Thanks Mark and crew for the great footage. 🐬🐬
Safe and enjoyable travels.

Congratulations Mark! What an accomplishment! Happy Holidays! I pray you do not have any orca issues exiting Gibraltar.
None so far….not seen any and now entering Portugal
Thanks Mark for the great sights and the dolphins, aren't they amazing. Can watch them all day. I even see you managed yacht with sails.

Thank you Mark for a great journey from Turkey to Gibraltar it's been amazing thank you .
No problems I enjoyed putting each episode together. About to enter Portugal.
Great video. Hope you have a few day's left of good weather. The Atlantic can be rough, so stay safe !
Absolutely will…just left Gibraltar and smooth as…at the moment!

I’m going to enjoy this episode over a nice cold beer
It’s England so the beer does not have to be cold!!
Another fantastic episode, keep being yourself Mark. I hear Gibraltar has good duty-free alcohol.
Not bad but seems duty not that high over this part of the world. Alcohol does not seem demonised like else where
Have a great Christmas Mark from your friend Stephen
Thank you so much. It has been a very special year. The next year will very likely be a lot less mileage and more time relaxing….woohah
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas Mark. Greetings from Oklahoma !!
Love this episode
Thanks so much. Merry Christmas to you also
Well done. What part of your Mediterranean adventure is most memorable, people / scenery, etc.
Take care
No doubt in my mind Greece…you just cannot beat it, the people, the scenery, the food. Everywhere is special but if we went back it would be to Greece
We hope to pass that rock one day. Thanks for sharing
No worries it was quite a milestone
Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦
Thank you thank you
Cracking update Mark, are you spending Christmas on Awanui NZ
You bet I am
As you say Mark MAGIC
Yip very
Safe journy over or through the bay .

The dolphins are a sight you never forget, espesially in the calm waters of the Med.Hope you don`t bump into the Gibealter Orca.

Hey David still cannot find the websites you sent?
@@AwanuiNZ I made a separate post in this video and the video you posted before that one.
How are you doing for Schengen days? Let me know if you need any deck crew when close to the UK!
Staring to get tight. I will fly out for a week to get my next batch if needs be. If I can get to France it should not be a problem.

Basic principles the same but implementation quite different. Makes sense though.
