My thoughts exactly! There are so many "reviews" of this piece all over RUclips, and AKG has some promo videos, but there is an absence of showing music playing. Mostly a bunch of talking heads extolling its virtues. If this is supposed to be a good mic for music, let's hear it. There is actually one RUclips showing a comparison with other USB mics that is excellent, and they have a side-by-side comparison with a guitar player. That is fine, but I want to hear it record wind instruments, with piano, acoustic bass, and drums. Acoustic instruments are best because you know what they sound like, and you can judge how well it brings out the subtle nuances. With the different stereo patterns wouldn't it be great to hear the difference between a band with the two different stereo patterns? Bottom line: if this is a music microphone, LET US HEAR IT RECORD MUSIC! I am in the market for a USB mic, and unless I hear something more substantial, I am not going to buy the AKG Lyra. So I am giving this review a thumbs down, and am trying to contact AKG to tell them to get their shtuff together and get some demos out like Apogee does.
Why not plug it in and let us hear it? Wouldn't that make for a much more substantial review?
