First of all, this was an AWESOME tutorial.
It's refreshing to find someone to take the time to EXPLAIN modular synthesis on RUclips, versus the multitude of vids where people just show off their gear.
Second, basic question. Why? And I'm being serious.... all of these sounds/sequences can be accomplished via a laptop. Ok, not fun, I understand... then there are keyboards & drum machines too... so just, why? thanks (:

It sounds like you just answered your own question."Ok,not fun.."
I can't explain "WHY?" I really enjoy doing what I do. Why does person z like x instead of y? Best I can convey it is something user on the muffwiggler synth forum (darenager) said: "...You probably can do it in Reason, or at least similar, just like you can drive a Lambourghini in a video game, it is not the same as driving an actual Lambourghini though is it?"
Do a search for Richard Devine Analog Voodoo Effect interview. :)
