Take it from a local The beaches in the northern mid to west side of the island are the more tamed. From Dorado to Isabela. Now on Cabo Rojo it depends on tides, though most of the time those beaches aren’t kid friendly those sea waters can be treacherous especially on high tide. Do enjoy PR. The best beach is Playa Sucia in Cabo Rojo hands down.

the beaches on the northside the Atlantic ocean are notoriously dangerous for families we locals go to the beaches on the Caribbean side .. that is a deceptive beach (JOBOS) and i am writing this here to protect tourist . Cabo Rojo you will notice calmer beaches. Nice video
@@Jaksur_Trucker i would stick to beaches on the south side of island and just ask about undercurrents- on the atlantic side the beach is wild and jobos has strong under currents- BUT there arealso fabulous natural pools in the ocean you just have to ask the locals for "playa para ninos". so crashboat popular and noisy but not on a tues. cabo rojo guanica playa sucia- just ask .. JOBOS is nice but you have to catch it just right its also notorious for drownings-

@Stephanie Agreda the third beach we show in the video, Playa el Faro in Arecibo always has very calm waves because it is in a little closed off cove as well! It is great if you have kids! 😃👍

@Camaro Jay Since Puerto Rico is an island there are a ton of beachfront hotels. One we personally enjoyed because of location and that had a private beach is the Caribe Hilton! It is smack dab in San Juan, so if you wanted something outside of the city but only a short drive away we could suggest one of the resorts in Dorado! There are many great ones to choose from! 😃
Jobos is sooooo not a hidden beach .. that " calm beach" it's the main actual beach 😑 then you pass the pozo and you find the crazy beach that no one ever goes to ... because it is not the main one ..

We really enjoy La Poza del Obispo in Arecibo! It is not too crowded and beautiful. If the waters are too rough that day, right next to it is El Faro or lighthouse beach. Hope you have fun @Victoria Evelise! 😃👍
