I have one, not the expensive one like yours, mostly use it for raising the log off the ground so I can saw the log. I mostly use my Hookaroon to role the rounds to where I want them. By the time I pay for one of those tools you are showing I could buy a new saw. I am 76 years old and still cutting my own firewood every year. Oh and I never go out in the middle of the winter to cut my firewood, start the end of May and end up about the middle of August, Don't like cutting in the middle of these NW PA. winters. LOL Spend that time servicing all my equipment so it is ready, when my cutting season starts.
Glad you got a kick, but I’m even happier to hear you’re gonna get one! I don’t need to use the cant hook very often any more but there’s one in the truck at work with us at all times and it really shines when we break it out. The 60in size is a must, any smaller and it’s not worth having.
@@Joshman5000 i'm new to firewood . we got a wood boiler 3 months ago . i got a stihl 400c (first chainsaw) almost 3 weeks ago and a countyline 25 ton splitter a week and a half ago . i'm 62 with a few replaced joints and aches and pains . but i still GET SHIT DONE ! just slower than i used to . but yeah ..... i ain't lazy but i am energy efficient and i appreciate tools that make my life/back easier . gonna order some clogger zero wrap chaps next week .
@JeffB1961 smart man with the chaps there! I started out for the first few years in tree work with no chainsaw protection but I started to see the value in it when I’d see people post about their saw cuts to the leg and the amount of money they’d have in medical bills and their time off work during recovery I thought to myself self the scary sticker price of chainsaw pants isn’t so scary when I think of how much it could cost me not having saw protection. I even took it a step further later down the road with arborist chainsaw protective boots as well they are way better boots for tree climbing on spikes and they last longer then most other boots.
haha nice! I didn't expect much from the low quality thumbnail, but the vid was great man.) Keep the quality of the content and you never know when the YT algorifies your video.
Hey I appreciate it, thank you! Yeah wouldn't that be something to become algorified one day maybe lol. I was kinda hoping that vid didn't get too many views, mainly was clowning around for a few of my other youtube tree buddies because I didn't really get to show that tools true potential with all that snow on the ground.
Lol glad you got a chuckle or 2 my friend! And yeah I'd say your pretty Arbified, more so then me! I cant even shake your hand, the last time I did had to get stitches from those calluses of yours 🤕☠. Thanks for always supporting the channel my friend!
@@brandonsnyder4424 nice man! Yeah in my opinion there's no piont in owning a smaller cant hook, the leverage you get with the 60in is crazy. Every so often we'll be trying to roll a beast of a log and need a second person to help but it's an impressive piece of gear you won't regret having. Mine spends a lot of time sitting granted but I keep it in the bucket truck all week at my day job and bring it back home if I need it for my side jobs. Works good for the final stump cut too to help get your saw back out of the cut instead of pounding wedges as you go or stuffing sticks and bark in the kerf, just hog your way around till she sits on the saw and grab the cold stihl to pop her loose.
In all seriousness I just went to the doctor yesterday and he reviewed an MRI I got on my back from last week. He said I can’t climb trees anymore or else I won’t be able to walk. He said it was primarily from 8 years on a hotshot crew but tree work is still very physical. Tools like this are a MUST! Use good form, respect and care for yourself JOSHMAN!
Damn Craig that's no good! I'm sorry to hear that brother that's scary news! I wish health and healing upon you! My back isnt terrible fucked up but it is fucked up from a drunken incident like 10 years back where some buddy's flipped a couch over on top of me (horsing around) and landed right on my lower back/tail bone area felt like it tore something and back will act up quite often. Pair that with lifting logs that are too heavy trying to be a macho man.
As far as the tool goes yes it's a must. I failed to actually capture some good examples of it's TRUE potential. All that snow there. I wish I could've showed it actually rolling a 2000lb+ log over cause she really does kick some ass. Science!
Thanks for the review. I'm here to tell you, absolutely choose to work smart over wrecking yourself. Time takes it toll on the toughest of men. I really enjoyed this information and humor. Looks like a great product...
Thanks much appreciated! Yeah I try to go easier on my self more and more as time goes on for self preservation but still ram jam it when neccessary. My pops (the Arbified one) always said "work smarter, not harder.....BUT WORK STILL"
😆 that'd be slick but he's a husky guy. I've switched over 100% team stihl. Nothing really against huskys at all I just like the dealership support and customer service of stihl better, and the fact that over years of watching tree work on youtube and world wide stihl seemed to be in more hands then any other saw, I thought lemme get some of that Cold Stihl and see what it's about. Sold my 2 huskys after making the switch.
Great video man, Love the humor! We call it a Gunt hook at work, works for getting in them fattys just put the hook under the gunt, lift and start giviner with the assless chaps lol stay safe buddy 👊

How big of a diameter log can you roll with the still can't hook. Can you get a bite on a 20 or 22 inch diameter log and move it?
