    Now this is a case of 'I'm glad I paid attention' before pressing the buy button. Thanks for the honesty. I grabbed the multimeter you reviewed and will look to a standalone scope now

    Hope that Fnirsi takes notes !! if they want us viewers to buy their meters thet better make the changes as suggested as that are the things we desperately need !!!

    Reading capacitors of below a few 10's of pF is hard when using long leads. Try removing the leads. If the meter still shows any residual capacitance, then press the "save" button to put the meter in relative mode. This should zero the meter. Then insert the capacitor into the sockets on the meter. If the leads aren't long enough, then try insertring bare banana plugs without insulation & place capacitor across them.

    That feature you added for diode mode is amazing and yes it should be in future models as either always on or an option for that and the old method ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ pretty much what you did is the new standard as soon as any manufacturer sees it as it would be a selling point for even a cheap multimeter also your other ideas are amazing i highly suggest at least putting it out there to each individual manufacturer through support show them your vid and i bet the next gen of affordable quality meters will have them for all of us to use 😊 wouldn't you if you were a manufacturer if not for anything more but to get the edge over other manufacturers

    It probably has cyan and red lines for maximum contrast (as they are complimentary colors) which is a good thing on small displays.

    Yes for diode short beep! I switch multimeter just for this function while I fault search. The different frequency for Schottky is a brilliant idea!

    I'd been really looking forward to seeing this review, since we got a glimpse of the machine on the live stream, as I'd been considering an oscilloscope as a next addition to my tools collection and the next skill to learn about.
    But I now feel rather disappointed that this scope, although maybe ok to learn with and use for some basic work, it is generally lacking all round. Great value maybe, but I wonder if I should just save up for a better machine 🤔
    Thanks for the review and all the comments from others about alternative machines to look at. Very helpful overall.

    Hi Richard, just a thought regarding the glare you sometimes get on the meter displays. Have you tried a polarising filter on the camera?

  • @Manticore1960
    @Manticore1960 10 месяцев назад +1

    @12:20 The display isn't showing "minus point zero zero 5", it's showing -5uA with 3 leading zeros. So, for example, if the last digit moves from -6 to -4 then it's drawing 2uA. Having said that, the meter does seem to jump around a bit as you move the leads.

    There is a firmware update. Can you download it and test if they fixed the unstable 2nd waveform on the scope?

    Greeting. I don't want to be rude, but there are a lot of mistakes in the evaluation, especially at the end of the video where you persistently use channel 1 on the oscilloscope while your trigger is set to channel 2!!!
    With all those cheaper devices, the rule is that if a signal is measured, it should be done with only one active channel. It might not be a bad idea to use the device first and study it well before recording a video about it. Just so that viewers and patrons are not misled.

    • @robertbohrer7501
      @robertbohrer7501 11 дней назад

      The trigger only affects the synchronization onscreen. It should not affect how the scope reads the frequency on either channel, regardless of where the trigger is set.

    Your talking about zeroing the leads but you didn't do that with the fnirsti. Your also trying to measure very low capacitance while holding the leads and you'll never be able to get a decent reading due to the capacitance of your body.
    I'm definitely going to get one of these (or something very similar) as I really don't need a bench top scope as I'll never use all the tools on it apart from having a decoder which would be really handy.

    Hi Sir, nice review. I It was very helpful. In a comment you mentioned that you would test the new update in a live stream. I could not find such a video on your channel, which one is it. In any case I would like to know if the device improves after the updates or still has similar performance. Thanks!

    Just now I got this 2C23T but one thing I found: the volt value that write on oscilloscope screen less than input but the drawing is correct , input is 5.000 V and the multimeter mode is correct and drawing wave on oscilloscope is correct but the value write on oscilloscope is 4.800 is there a way to calibration ?

    Hi Richard.. 🤗
    A good small tool for this money👍. But, the quality about the funktion generator and dso are under base level. Eventuelly a firmware update helps.
    A all in one , a good tool for allrounder and beginner.

      That's what I thought, if I had anything like this when I was learning electronics I would have thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. So a useful enough tool for anyone wanting to learn electronics on a budget but I couldn't recommend it for more demanding applications

      @@LearnElectronicsRepair when i was in education (omg it is a long time ago😢),my first Meter was an metex 3650 😍🥰 and a Hameg 60Mhz🥰😍 oszilloscope. 4 years i paid for the hameg . Other Tools are diy and so on. You had to have some knowledge of the measuring devices, especially the oscillograms. Now, all Tools are voodo or magic , i miss a little bit the old time 😢 but today it isn't so bad👍🥳🍻. Many people here must learn the basics that they haven't . For this reason I really enjoy watching your videos because they remind me of the old days😍🥰🥳🍻 Thanks👍👍👍(ohh goodness is my english old 🤣🤣)

    FNIRSI often lies about the sample rate. I'd like to know which ADC chip (or max rate of the internal ADC in case of cheap models that only use MCU) they used and the actual maximum sample rate of that chip.

      @@LearnElectronicsRepair but the capacitance meter emits a 1KHZ signal and the other meter does not usually and is why the capacitance meter can read it faster as well

    I was considering this to replace my zotek zt702s because it's 2 channels. Now that zotek has released the zt703s there is just no point in considering the Fnirsi.

    • @shaunmorrissey7313
      @shaunmorrissey7313 10 месяцев назад +2

      the zt702 is an amazing piece of kit, even if you deicide to buy something else don't replace the zotek. I bought one of these fnirsi because it was less than £60 delivered, may be a future firmware update will improve it. Even if I could justify the expense of an Owon HDS2202 I would still keep the ZT702s, I really love it.

    Fnirsi is simply a toy... They arn't known for reliability and most fnirsi products are clones of other, more high end chinese products. You can never go wrong investing in a decent bench or handheld multimeter. Great vid though!

    It is nothing wrong to compare device targeted to hobbyst with profesional 5 times more expensive fluke. It is wrong to complain that device for hobbyst is not a fluke.
