- In this video, I go through how to register as an Immigration Consultant in California with the Secretary of State. I talk about the Business and Professions Code, the Surety Bond, the Disclosure form, and the CA Bond Search feature. Edit: @ 5:43, The correct website is USCIS.gov
($1750 bonds, available at dimirak.com/bon.... I have my bond with them, but I don't get a kickback if you sign up. Use at your own risk.

I will be applying for my surety bond by the end of this month. Thank you for sharing this information. I lost my last job because of the pandemic so this will be a new opportunity for me. Again thank you.
Becoming an Immigration Consultant is a great way to help our communities, and provide a much needed service.
Hi
With what company did you get your bond and what was the cost? I'm shopping around thanks
Any updates?
Love short information videos ..good job
Great Video , Thank You!
Glad you liked it!
Informative video. My question is, does a person’s credit score need to be excellent to be approved?
You'll want to reach out to the bond company to confirm, but that's my undestanding, that credit records play a part in the approval/quote process.
Hi Elizabeth, thank you for the very informational video! Is there a specific order on how to do the steps? Like can I do background check first and then file everything or file everything and then the background check comes at the end? Like is there a specific order to follow? And love the name Immigration Perspectives by the way.
If I have employment authorization then I can open my own immigration consultant
Where do i need to go to studying become immigration consultant?
Hi Elizabeth, can you please help me with information on where to get the bond ?
Hi , to help others complete USCIS forms only & charge money, do you have to become an immigration consultant ?
If you are in California, yes 👍🏼
@@ElizabethOlvera thank you! How do you know what type of forms and things you are limited to do for clients? I’ve tried to look online but I can’t find one .
Also can you do this work from home? Thank you so much .
@@oceann2838 You can review the CA Immigration Consultant Code for more info
Your video is very complete. What you don't mention however is how expensive the 100K bond is. I have seen bond cost as low as $ 4,000.00 and as high as $ 8,000.00. And that is only for two years. Credit histories MUST be MINT, meaning over 775 to even get in the range of $ 3-4,000.00. Then again, it only lasts for two years. FURTHER, as I have learned having a Notary Bonds, LDA Bonds, Process Server Bonds for years with absolutely no claims, this mean nothing. So, while the idea of a Immigration Consultant is a fine idea, it is truly out of reach for most.
Gary, thanks for your comments. Yes, the bond is very expensive, and $1,250 is the cheapest I've seen. I know a person who was quoted $7,500, but I believe that's because the bonding company relies more heavily on a person's credit record, than that person's education or experience. What I can tell you is that you start making the money back quickly, as long as you charge reasonable prices to the public, do good work, and market your services online. I've also known someone who paid for the bond, but was disqualified by the secretary of state due to a disqualifying misdemeanor, and the bond company did not refund the bond money. :(
I have a question i just started a document consulting business i don't consult anything i just help filling up the application and forms do i need to became an immigration consultant to charge a fee?
Great Video. What is the true amount of gross income that an individual make annually as an immigration consultant in Ca? A range? ...
Great question...Like all businesses, it depends on various factors, like your work ethic, your city, whether you work part-time or full-time, your work experience in helping with form preparation (even if in other fields), if you speak more than one language, if you work with a team, etc. But one person can make approximately 150k revenue per year, about 2 years in, some EARN more, some EARN less. This is not a get-rich quick business, this is a build trust, do the work, and get paid kind of business.
Hi Elizabeth! I just renewed my surety bond and have what feels like a silly question. Since I am renewing, do I file a new disclosure form complete with new Livescan/passport pic, $30 fee, etc.? I recently changed my business address & phone number too, and read on the SOS website that we must inform them in writing but that there was no fee for change of address. I'm a bit confused. My broker agent said he sent the 'Force & Effect" letter to the SOS on my behalf. What's been your experience? Thanks!
I send everything except for the background livescan. I do a new disclosure, include the passport pics, copy of my CA ID, and pay the $30 fee, I was told we didn't have to redo the livescan at the renewal, and they didn't even use the new passport pic.

Hi, thank you so much for great information. Will you please advise which college provides immigration consultant diploma. Which one you recommended. I truly appreciate your answer. Thank you
There are programs out there that go over the forms, but there isn't any that issue a diploma or certification, that I'm aware of.

There are no max fees if you are not a notary (If you are a notary, there may be certain instances when there are caps to the fees you can charge, perhaps the Nat's Notary Association can provide you with more info. :)

hi do we need any bachelors degree to qualify as an immigration consultant? or bonds will do?thank you
The bond will do. There are programs out there that go over the forms, but there isn't any that issue a diploma or certification, that I'm aware of.
Hi may i ask if it’s possible to be an immigration consultant in the us while in the philippines?
Could you recommend how much to charge for all the immigration consultant services? How much should I charge for translation, putting all of the documents together, and submitting the forms? Additionally, is it $15 per form or per page in an immigration form?
The charge for providing immigration consultant services are more of a personal business decision (many people have various experience, overhead, employees, handle various processes, etc that affect the ultimate price). In terms of charging services if you are a notary, you would have to reach out to the Secretary of State regarding any restrictions on charges.
@@ElizabethOlveraCould you recommend what to charge if it’s just me as the immigration consultant? The state allows $15 per form, but I wanted your recommendation for how much to charge for the other services. You made a video on it, so I’m hoping you can give me some concrete amount. I haven’t been able to find what the market rate is for the services.
Elizbeth, thank you for that info. I am a psychotherapist that provides psychological evaluations for immigration cases. Do you happen to have a list of immigration consultants I could reach out to?
