there have been 2 interesting take-aways for me in this. 1. Bob Horn leaving the upper Kick-Frequencies untouched until later on. Makes a LOT of sense to me, gonna adopt that mentality - not only for kick. 2. Richard Furch looking (instead of listening) in order to enhance what is there, without changing it. When the sound is already great, that's a wise and smart approach.

this video is fucking brilliant. Warren, this is what we need. Seeing many perspectives on an element in the mix, it gives us a lot of "Guidelines" or just general "leanings", not rules, that can really clear up mixing philosophies for beginners and intermediates. I've been mixing for 10 years now but i got so much value out of this video. God bless, would love for this to be a series. (Snare, Guitars, Bass especially, Vocals) -- a groundbreaking series.

Yup. I generally always have the bass lower than the kick. So much more energy and it makes more sense sonically. I don’t get it the other way round. I make a lot of music with an LM1 and the kick sits best exactly at 86. I usually cut all drums completely at 60 and let the bass instruments have everything below that entirely to themselves. I don’t own the artist songs. All of the SD revenue goes to them, as it should. I don’t complain about the music industry not paying an artist enough and then complain when an ad pays them revenue which I have no control over.
