- Today I explore Granada, Nicaragua. First I check out one of the old churches. Then I go through the centro area, and finally end up in the local markets.
I meet some new Nicaraguan friends, feel sorry for a lizard that is about to become lunch, and visit the beach of Lake Nicaragua.
Overal, I really liked my time in this city. The people are friendly, the coffee is fantastic, and there are plenty of cultural treats.
Lovely old city with happy welcoming people. Hopefully they can get the beach cleaned up. Thanks for sharing.
So the volcano is Volcan Mombacho. The Masaya volcano is about 20-25 minutes away by car, and always has plumes of smoke coming out of it. Mombacho I beleive is considered active as there are some warm vents, but I'm not confident about that. You can take a tour of the cloud forrest on top of Mombacho. It's worth the expense imo.

Also those little tiendas close to the lake are temporary, they are here from about mid November to shortly after the new year. They sell all sorts of fireworks, some from China and some locally made. Anyone can buy them and set them off. I recommend it, it's a real blast!

They cook them. Mostly soup, I have had it grilled as well.

You can almost live anywhere. It depends. Though I'd probably choose Europe or SE Asia. Safer, better food, cheaper. Right now I live in my laptop. But I sleep in a cabana near the beach.
