Lucky you,I had read the novel,in my mother tongue, really enjoyed it…. Never was even dreaming that I could listen and understand the original script ( in English) 💐
Thank you Elizabeth. I’ll look it up today. Hopefully it’s on RUclips. Kind of you to mention it. Very best wishes for a safe healthy and laughter-filled 2021
Thanks all! It was such a pleasant surprise to hear her voice I couldn't help commenting straight away. The cast announcement is not always included in these delightful uploads, but it was nice to have confirmation at the end of the play.
Those nutty Brewster sisters are back complete with Teddy charging up the staircase .They have been twittering on the London and New York stages and on film with Cary Grant. You have to wear your "silly hat" to enjoy this and unfortunately I couldn't find mine. Heavens knows why this was and is such and international success - unless you are wearing the hat it's so silly. Tastes change, but why the group of characters were a success in the first eludes me. I saw the movie version of this in a Paris art house movie theatre and the French were falling about -however, the joy o f yellow fever in the window box eludes me.
Wonderful. My then wife and I used to listen to Saturday Night Theatre every week. We were never disappointed.

You probably think Jimmy Carr is funny.
