I didn’t know Alexis was a key link to helping with ,unveiling the corruption with James Burke. The fact that her old friend did what he did and to find all the stuff on the ex chief. and all the corruption of this case, is mind blowing . I wish her much success with her future and with the next level of her career. I really enjoyed her as a guest. I hope she is back on.

The greatest mistake most make is that they think that “monsters” are killers. But this man, as so many others, is like everyone else in many ways. And, he is quite similar to “BTK” in many ways (sexual sadism, facade of normal family, job wherein he exerted power, etc). Psychopaths look like your neighbor.

I already believe a step relative and this neighbor that I put in my building as a realtor are really bad people masquerading as "ordinary" folks. Sick and scary. I've called this neighbor out for being a creep (long story) and soon as I did, I RARELY bumped into him since we have been living in a small building. I would not be surprised he's GPS ing me via my phone. Paranoia will annoy ya sure....but I can't help but be paranoid. His wife is a loser, over weight Russian woman who probably enables him.

Outstanding program Katie. How did I not know about this case and story. In Vancouver we have tragically had horrific experiences with several serial killers. Thank you for saying their names. It is so important. Sex workers are so much more than that. They are precious human beings. This area is related to the work I do, in a smaller way, so I am fascinated. The best way to hide is to blend in! Then there are the William Picktons like we had here and oh was that a horror show. Offenders of this nature love to take risks and mention ongoing police investigations. It is like a trophy which for most of us seems so despicable. Thank you for having such an amazing guest and it's a huge treat to hear your interviews Katie. Be well!!

One little extra to this, his story ... With a first name like this, if "Rex" happens to be his christened name, that translates as "the King", coming from Latin, a language ancient but very alive ... Isn' t it more than intriguing, keeping in mind how ,a name is given to decorate, to secure a certain meaning ... a feeling thru life ... Given such a spooky name, such omen while knowing how there is "bad'' and there is always "worse than bad'', there could be someone in family his/story to "inspire" this dark, dark character ...

Superb interview! Going to check out the Unraveled podcast now, but had a quick comment/question. I read or heard somewhere that Shannon's autopsy revealed evidence of a broken or crushed buone in her neck that is consistent with strangulation. I also saw the movie Lost Girls and the doctor who called Shannon's mother, 2 days after she went missing, told the mother he had helped Shannen that night and then later denied ever having made that call. Shannon's earring was found on his property (by her mother) and later her remains were found in his back yard, which was swampland. Sorry-I guess that wasn't a "quick question"! Just find the doctor to be another VERY suspicious character in all this. Particularly re Shannon and that call he denied making. Any thoughts or clarification/confirmation re either of these details? Again, this interview is the most comprehensive I've seen yet!

This should be made into a movie. Incredible story. I wonder if there are women who had contact with the killer or killers and survived and have not come forward to protect their privacy in connection with the stigma of sex work? I hope someone else comes forward to bring light to the story and to help victims families find answers.

    • @SecretSquirrelFun
      @SecretSquirrelFun Год назад +1

Oh absolutely there could be other sex workers that he has seen.
I wouldn’t be surprised if people/sex workers had already come forward. As well as being contacted and spoken with.
I’m sure that they would be going through his phone records, his online activity etc and contacting anyone that he’s been corresponding with.
The police would want statements from any women/female sex workers that came into contact with this guy.
They’d also want to check that these women were safe and well - because, who knows, there might be other victims out there.
This guy could have more than one location where he hides his victims - now that’s a scary thought 😳
I’m pretty sure that they would be offering absolute privacy for anyone wishing to remain anonymous for personal or social reasons. They might lead totally different lives now.
Some women might have only done sex work for a short period of time, and now they either have a family, or work in a different profession. This case is too important for the authorities not to offer privacy protections when potentially valuable information could be involved.
Sorry for waffling on - I just really liked (and appreciated) what you said in your comment 🤣
I just know that if I saw the news, and realised that I had actually “seen” this guy, (in a professional capacity) that I would be calling those detectives - if they hadn’t already contacted me that is!
      🙂🐿🌈🐿
P.s also .... YES to a movie being made - I bet that there are people already typing up screen plays as we speak (well, there would be except for the writers strike going on 😳)
