It was a beautiful jacket and I am seriously tempted but £850 is a bit too strong. I shall dream about it though ;-)

Hi Tony. Love the reviews on Triumph gear. I have a question. I'm interested in purchasing a Helstrons Street Racer jacket. I already have a Helstrons Douglass jacket that I purchased from the Bike Shed last year, and its a size M (very nearly bought the L). So my dilemma is do I buy the new jacket size M or L. Leather does stretch over time, but you say the L is a 40-42. I would say I'm a 42 yet the M Douglass fits really good. Cheers DJ Australia

Hi Dave, that’s a tough one to answer, but it seems that the jackets ‘fit’ varies with the design a little. The Douglass I would guess is more relaxed being that 3/4 style. I had the same issue with RSD. The Ronin in size large fits me nicely, but when I tried the clash I had to go up to an XL

Hey Tony great piece thx for the review. I been on a lookout for a jacket and this might be the one for me... as for the fit I think u mentioned your a 44 chest? IMHO this jacket is perfect fit for u you need to take in consideration this will form with time and expand thus i would not go a size up... well if i would be a 44 i am more a 46/48 chest :) PS great channel I am eagerly awaiting for the next review.

Thanks for your kind words. lol im a 44 on a good day, but you are right, i took the expert advice from the guys at Motolegends and took the size L. its already started to stretch out and become more comfortable. I tried the XL and it was too long in the sleeve and Body and 'rucked up' across the top of my shoulders. More reviews to come. Ive been a bit light on the bike parts, but that will change very soon! lots to show.....

+iREVIEWitALL If you are coming to London you'll have the visit the The Bike Shed if you are into bikes. Great place to eat, get a haircut and look at some awesome custom bikes. They also have a shop on site that stocks lots of cool gear incl Helstons....

0.9-1.1 mm; you wouldn't want to come off the bike in it. If this was 1.2-1.4 mm, it would be a good jacket. The fact there's an abrasive resistant liner says a lot about the thin leather. I think I'll stick to my Crowtree Lancer.

This is a very thorough review on the jacket, kudos!
I'm currently looking at a textile version of the Turner (didn't find it on Helstons site, but FCmoto is selling one). I'm wondering how that differs from the leather version, apart from the material. Anyway, thanks for the review!

Thanks! I'd not seen the textile version until you mentioned it, it looks to be the same 'pattern' as the leather. Looks great for hot weather, but I dont know what the abrasion resistance would be like?

The description on fc-moto says "poly-nylon". Maybe a knock-off of Cordura?
If I end up getting the jacket and subsequently falling down, I'll come back to give a review. :D
