Great idea to extend the exhaust my friend. I had to do the same thing with the exhaust on the diesel heater I installed in our camper canopy. I have a CO detector installed inside the camper to let us know if ever there becomes a problem. Enjoy your day
This was my first iteration, my second was galvanized pipe, I had issues with both. Someone commented that a diesel heater exhaust pipe fits well, I’m currently waiting on one to try
Thanks for the video. I have a semi and I’m going to mount the generator on the back of the cab. But I want to get those exhaust fumes as far away from the truck as possible. Probably run it up the exhaust pipe of the truck.
I have a new video with an upgraded exhaust that actually works better... the in the video description is a link to the guy I got the idea from but he shows hot to go from 1” galvanized pipe to flex...
what I did was use a self manufactured funnel type unit, with a large 4 inch metal flex tubing with an electric high volume exhaust fan, ,works great, use it in my boat, in the engine compartment
How many notches did you cut into it? It looked like 6, I have a Duromax the exhaust on my is about 15/16 with the a little lip on the end making it 1", I only have a hacksaw so I'm going to try 4 notches. If the hose clam don't work, I'll squeeze it together with some vise grips it that will hold it.
I’m not sure, but I’m on my third trial for this one. This flex tube was too loose, I’m awaiting a diesel heater exhaust because it’s supposed to work well

Great information. I extended the exhaust on my two Honda generators. Mine only had to extend straight out so I welder mine. Thanks for sharing
I always wished I learned a little more about welding/fabrication
Gimpy Camper I believe its a good skill to have
Simple yet effective. Thanks for sharing

Great idea!! I will have to look at the Predator I use and see if I can do that as well! Thanks!
I actually did a better exhaust update video under the video “Predator 3500 mods”
@@GimpyCamper I believe I did see that too..is it with with the pipe and elbow?
Yes
@@GimpyCamper That looks like a secure fitting! I have a Predator 2500, wonder if mine would work to have that too

@@GimpyCamper ok thanks. I’ll check it out.

You are Mr. Fixit! You can do anything.
That’s what my wife thinks anyway... lol
@@GimpyCamper You can. You can do is very inspiring
Nice setup man. Looks really good.
Also a tbolt hose clamp is used for this type of pipe

I just made a lot, probably about 7-8, but I will say occasionally it gets loose, but no big deal to tighten up
@@GimpyCamper I think I have room to use 1.125 muffler clamp when I can find one.
I tried and the smallest muffler clamp I could find wouldn’t get tight enough
@@GimpyCamper I might have to mickey mouse the clamp.
Good value generator. We love ours.
Excellent idea
I had a problem with this staying on. I’ve since changed to this configuration
Predator 3500 Mods
PC-7 welding putty... perm rock hard epoxy!
I’ve actually changed out my whole exhaust to a solid pipe exhaust now
@@GimpyCamper Any videos of the new set up?

They sell 1” exhaust extension adapters that bolt right onto the standard mount
Perhaps you should check out my new video on the subject
Great idea!
Cool. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
Does the predator 2000 Watt , can you hook up an extension for exhaust . Thank you

Great info my friend

Just get a high temp silacone tubing and use a pipe clamp on it.
Just in case get a carbon monoxide alarm…..like what u did.
There has been an extra since the original install, covered in that video
Actually I just noticed this was my old video. This exhaust sucked… then another sucked, but this is best
