I did it! Thank you very much for this video. I had the problem that the blower was not working. After I watched this video I was hoping it was only the fuse or the regulator because it seemed an impossible job to get out the whole dashboard. But I discovered the blower had to be replaced after all. And with the help of your video I managed to do it in 4-5 hours. The most difficult part was to get out the dashboard, specially when you don't remove the middle console, as you said at 6:18. There are 3 plastic pins and when you get your hand into the hole where the blower control unit used to be, you can hold onto the lower part of the dashboard, there were the 3 pins go in and pull that part in the direction of the engine. I'm very greatful for this video, greetings from the netherlands
You're welcome, and great job.. glad to hear I was of some help to you..
Thx for this. Just finished this job in 3.5h thanks to your clear video.
You're welcome Rene.
That's not bad makes me won't to follow the video and do it myself
Thanks , so much great info .
You're quite welcome, good to hear that my video was helpful..
Hi, thanks for the useful video. Which brand of blower did you buy on the X5 and are you happy with it? The link in your description is inactive. Thanks, Joël
You're welcome, I updated the link in description box, much thanks for the heads up on that..
@@thediyyardie7192 I did this job last weekend. 9 hours but went well. Couldn’t have done it without your video. Thanks again.
@@My911 You're quite welcome and its always good to hear that my videos are helpful..
Good job !
Mine just went. parts are on order from FCP Euro. Want to come help?? LOL thanks for this video.
@miklos kiraly, sorry will have to take pass this time lol, but you're welcome..
curious, why not just remove the steering wheel instead of dropping steering colum bolts? Thanks very much for this video!!
@Mike Johnson, you're welcome sir, but about the steering wheel, it was just my preference of doing it that way, I had a second pair of hands, so we could lift and maneuver the dash out once all the screws were removed, had it been just me, then I would have most likely removed the steering wheel..
So i changed my blower to a brand new oem and it only worked for a few days and not it’s not blowing again! Any advice as to what it may be ?
Sorry to hear that it stopped working so quickly after completing the job, the fuse, relay and blower motor capacitor is 1st on the list to check and verify, control panel may also be faulty, but worst case scenario, the new motor could possibly be faulty.. please keep me posted as to what you find to be the issue..
@@thediyyardie7192 by control panel, you mean the climate control unit?? I was thinking maybe it was the resistor?
@@BigMike-Soetoro yes, I typed capacitor, I meant to type blower motor resistor, did you check related fuses?
@@thediyyardie7192 I did before I purchased the blower motor and everything looked good. I also cleaned the resistor and when I connected it back it started working but only for a couple hours than it stopped so I assumed it was the blower.
(All this was before I swapped the blower) Now that the blower has been replaced I’m almost certain it’s the resistor.
@@BigMike-Soetoro it sounds that way, check the connector, sometimes they burn and short out.
Big up yaad man.
Every time mi Breda.
hola amigo , que tiempo se tarda en cambiarlo?
Jajajja hola, acabo de terminar de remover todo y dure tres horas. Mañana armo y actualizo. pura vida!
5 to 6 hours could be much less if you're mechanically inclined .
How much would you charge for this job my car has this same problem I won't to just follow your video and do it myself
Sorry I only make these demonstrations videos for RUclips, but most shops charge $1200 to $1500.

Seen this video before by someone else. Instructions are repeated verbatim (someone is copying someone 😂) (plagiarism)
My channel may be relatively new, but I've been doing repairs now for over 25 years, I know what I know from years of hands on experience, so please take your insinuations some place else..not here..thank you..
😊@errolmclean9282, seriously bro, this is one of the best videos if not the best I found on doing this job, I seen others that show the work involved, but this one is better because of the step by step details. What is the title to video are you trying to say he copied? Shame!!! some of us just do our best to tear others down, instead of giving them props. Great video DIY Yardie, it was a big help with me fixing mine, keep up the good work bro..
@@truthseeker6851I appreciate you man, thanks for having my back, I get a hater from time to time, I use it for motivation, much thanks and you're welcome..
Errol MCLEAN, you need to get laid buddy.
