From philippines.. Nice video,. But as i watched the whole video, I would like to recommend to put wood glue to prevent strands of moving, you need also to put binding each side of the chairs to have extra hold... Sorry to say that it needs more improvements... Goodluck!

😬 None of that is necessary and gluing the material is a bad idea

I am planning to this technique on a 36"L x 12"W table shelf. I have heard I should leave some slack in the first set of weaves (presumably the length) because it will tighten as you go across the width and become too tight to weave at the end. Is this true or should I keep fairly constant tension across the entire length? Thank you for the excellent video on the chair as well.

That’s what happened to me! I couldn’t weave 4 at the end, just two, but it still turned out great !

Do you hammer in the nails at some point? To keep cord from unraveling? Also, how do you keep nails from coming out of frame?

Thank you for sharing this. I appreciate it, although, do have a fear of the strings coming out. Will it ever accidentally come out? I mean, is it 100% secure? What would be the weight limit?

I like this look and function better than caning. Very interesting, but knots are not the same as a splice. I'm sure this is just an unintentional lapse in correct terminology. A splice is much stronger and looks nicer. That joining knot is a sheet bend. It is intended for use with two different size ropes/stings. Perhaps a square knot would be more ideal if you're going to use knots instead of splices.
