My wife & I heard this song in Britain a couple weeks ago and were totally blown away by it. We live in US and are stunned at how so many great songs never get anywhere there. This GREAT song went #1 in many countries. In the crap USA music market it got as high as #67 What?!?! This is sadly common that great songs from UK, Europe & other areas never crack US market We're entertainers & are adding this song to our act.

Utwór poznany dzięki powrotom ze szkoły autobusem, którego kierowca, pan Henryk, słuchał Radia Katowice. Akurat ta piosenka pojawiała się w programie popołudniowym, a był to przełom lat 1992/93. Inną wówczas "katowaną" w tym programie piosenką była ówczesna nowość zespołu Smokie - "Don't Play That Game With Me" z ich wtedy świeżej płyty "Chasing Shadows"

@ Britain's Best Guitar--There was a boycott in the US because of apartheid in South Africa. Celebrity political crap cost us great music in this case. I do remember hearing it on the radio, and probably at clubs. I bought the 45 when it was out and it's been one of my favorites for 35 years!

Is it true Clout had a male member of the group from 1980 onwards?

Looks like they had a couple of male group members later - judging by the photos of them in the video!

Fiona Messenger Thanks Fiona,I do not know myself, but I believe this was thier one and only big hit in the UK? They were a South Africian band? I beleve they could not perform on Top of The Pops in the UK due to a musicians ban by the 1970s UK Union BETU! Thanks again Foina,I hope to hear from you soon. 50 year old disabled viewer. GOD BLESS!

Fiona Messenger Thanks Fiona! They were South Africian, and they were not liked in the UK due to [the then] South Africain] Apathaid laws. They appared on Top of The Pops in 1977 on BBC 1 but only with pictuers from the Dutch equlivent of Top of The Pops! Music Schake. Are you a fan of music? I am a disabled carrer looking after my elderly diabitic mum and my brother who has a serious tumour, living in the New Forest in Bashley UK! I hope to hear from you again. GOD BLESS!

Yes Briatians Best Guiater I find The US Charts very bland,Even the Swedish Eurovision winner ABBA could not make it big in the US. However in typing this Clout does remind me of the Americian Pop Group The Bangles. I loved Enternal Flame and Walk Like an Egyptian! GOD BLESS.

Though Abba didn't achieve the same level of success in the US that it did in other parts of the world, it did manage to achieve 14 Top 40 singles, four of which went Top 10 and one of which went to #1. That's actually not a bad track record.

buddy51 Wow! As a UK disabled viewer I never knew that. We never had The US Charts here in Britain untill 1985 When Britians first commericial TV Channel [started in 1955] started broadcasting The late Kasey Kasim"s Americia"s Top Ten bradcast at 1.30am or later as ITV was then a regional channel unlike today! I loved Casey"s Jumpers, but am I right in thinking that Casey Casam"s Americia"s Top Ten was NEVER BROADCAST on ABC,CBS or NBC only syndicated to local TV channels in the states? Thanks,GOD BLESS!

@ Deer Slayer, OK who is the ugly one as you say "four stunners" and there are 5 in the band. Guess you were not such a great fan! :-)
