Chinese or not the people at Genuine are pretty serious about quality. They took several years chasing the bugs out of the 400i motorcycle before selling it and the Urbano and Rattler are receiving accolades for quality at a decent price. Cleveland Moto videos are full of praise for the two.
Uh, not always. The 400i bike is built by Shineray, a Chinese company. The Rattler and Urbano are also China bikes. Follow the Cleveland Moto videos where they acknowledge they sell Chinese scooters,
This may not be the same problem for everyone but when I have had head shake handlebar wobble and the head stock bearings are tight, it has been poor balance from a tire changer or a bad vulcanization of the tire from the tire manufacturer. I have met some mechanics slash tire changers in the past that also seem to think that these small diameter wheels and tires do not need balancing...WRONG!! So I purchased my own static balance machine and do all my own tire balancing and now enjoy super smooth no vibration or head shake from any of my bikes!! Later, gotta go for a scooter ride!!
I know nothing about scooters. I probably will never own one. Looks pretty awesome, and who wouldn't want 80 to 90 mpg's! I saw 70mph probably on a downhill. Great stuff.
I just hit 2000 on mine the other day. The fastest it's ever said on the speedo for me is 57. I have also never gotten close to 80 miles a gallon. you guys must be a hundred pounds lighter and live in flatter places!!!! Love this thing though it's badass. By the way Longjia is the company in China that makes this. They have a great reputation.
I have a 2012 vw tdi jetta with a 6 spd manual. It gets 75 mpg all of the time. I bought it new and it has a 14 gallon fuel tank and will do over a thousand miles on a fill up. Once I did almost 1200 on a camping trip through the northwest
I have a Vitacci Clash 200 EFI scooter that is similar in many ways. A Chinese bike with the engine made by Lifan, 14" wheels, 168.9cc, different looking plastics. Only 3500 miles so far but running fine. Speed and MPG are about what you are getting on the Rattler.
I'm getting about the same MPG and I did notice it improved as the bike broke in. Although my speedometer/odometer isn't quite accurate and shows me 4 miles an hour faster than a radar speed sign. Those tires make the bike in my opinion, you can almost do a track stand with them, they corner well, and still have lots of tread after 3000 miles but I got the bike for mostly winter commuting in the NW
Nice review! I looked at the Buddy 170i and the hoodlum 170i Didn’t like the Buddy the way it rode, liked the Hoodlem and also rode a SYM Fiddler 4 200i. Liked the ride almost as good as the Hoodlum. I even checked out Vespa Sprint 150 and Pringle Liberty 150. I liked the way they fit me but didn’t like the dealer that well. So I went back a bought the SYM Fodder 4 over the Hoodlum 170i for two reasons. One: the Fiddler had the gas tank in front down low for better center of gravity which gives the under seat storage area greater capacity than with the gas take in the back. Two it had an all digital dash which I liked better than the Hoodlum. Also this Fiddler was a demo with 643 miles on it so it had the break in service done on it. I also got mine up to 67 mph indicated and I am 300 lbs with riding gear at least. I also noticed that without a windshield it didn’t have the wind blast on you like a motorcycle would, kinda weird huh.
my real motorcycle gets 85mpg & 85 top mph. Yamaha V Star 250 . I did put an 18 tooth sprocket on front from 16 for better top end and got better mpg from 75mpg. $3000 with only 114 miles on it
there's a little problem with MPG. North America is the only place to use both "US" Gallons, and Miles. so MPG means absolutely nothing to the rest of the world. can you include Litres per 100km, and/or kilometers per litre (km/l)?
Scooters are commonly defined as mopeds (🤬) in the US even though they technically aren’t. The tag receipt for my Roughhouse says moped, but it’s actually a scooter with no pedals
@@KevCentral love my PGO probably the cheapest two wheeled machine i ride in terms of maintenance to operate. just gas and oil and one time over 7000 miles a belt.
first scooter video I've watched from you despite watching for years, gotta say, wasn't interested before, but I think you've convinced me I want one

Genuine uses Taiwan manufacturing

Very nice, 4 stroke scooters are a big improvement over 2 strokes in every way, from noise to efficiency.
I love the scooter content, I've been considering getting one of the electrics soon.

Picked my son up one he loves it. Very fast and comfortable

That's amazing fuel economy. I would never go electric if I had a vehicle like that
I got a Yamaha Zuma about the same time you got your Rattler. I get around 88 mpg on mine. The highest I've gotten is 97.1 mpg, my lowest is 81.7 mpg.

It's pretty much a Genuine Hooligan 170 with a different look. I have the Hooligan and I love it!!! Very reliable
Looks pretty much the same as the Cabo/pch 200i`s. I have the Cabo and love it.
Have over 2,000 miles on mine. 65mph is possibe, while 60mph is more like it. 88/87 average. Buy the best gas available.Excellent headlight!
As always Kev a no BS honest review i love that bike friends in Thailand were trying to purchase 3 but no joy ?? sad.

Isn’t it Hooligan not Hoodlum.
Good review Kev.
Good followup.
Stay tuned. If it uploads in time I’ll be showing my sole upgrade I feel the bike needed.
I've gone through 11 tank fulls in my RAM truck this year. No where near your mpg and it costs a helluva lot more.😢

How do you do your maintenance in order to keep the warranty intact? In other words, do you need to take it back to the guy at Scooter Stop?

I have the Buddy Kick 125, and I’ve done over 70 on the speedo, 67 on gps.
Hill speed isn’t a real top speed. When I say top speed I’m talking flat ground, no hill assist
@@KevCentral my top speed was on the freeway in California on a flat surface. No downhill..
@redsorgum it would have to be modified to pull that off
@@KevCentral Nope, completely stock. The kick is eleven horsepower with four valves and fuel injected
What is the helmet you ride with I like the color and style of it
That’s a helmet from ILM. Available on Amazon for $100. I’ll add a link to it in the description
Thanks
Did you bed in the brakes when you first got the bike?
They stop on a dime
Does it ride smooth at 60
GoTrax has it beat
Don't just say it's better, tell us why !

Ha!
They'll ask for a reversing camera next 😋
What's the top speed though? jkjk
😂
For starters quit calling it a dang bike its a moped its no different than a motorcycle
Look up the definition for bike 🙃
mopeds have pedals, so like an ebike but dino juice...

PGO makes great bikes. Much of the Genuine Scooter line is made by PGO 👍🏻 good stuff
