Great video with Jimmy. I ran with him many times over the years he would run through the worst of the weather to get it done . Need more guys like him out here !
What a genuine and modest driver. I go out of my way when I have the chance to talk with guys like this.Back in the day you would run into these fellas at diners and would always have some great conversations about the business and past experiences. He made that tractor shift like butter. Great video mike!
Not really we're out here just need to become that real deal person over time kids like myself aren't just born the man, everybody starts out in life learning every mistake in the book and then finally getting a grasp one day like a light switch, old people don't have patience that's really the problem
That is one Stand Up Gentleman there. That’s the kind of drivers I grew around. My dad was a trucker so I have been around trucks my whole life. Started in 1975 , retired from it in 2022. Lots of good memories.

First off ,HAPPY TEN-4,’’THE UNOFFICIAL TRUCKERS HOLIDAY IN MY BOOK. Jimmy, thanks so much for taking us all along for the ride in your beautiful truck. Another fantastic video from the BOSTON TRUCKER. Thank you!
Dream truck right there😍. Worked a truck stop in early 80s. This is the type of driver I remember dealing with. It is so different now. He’s a classic Mike, thanks!
Memory seat. We didn't even have an air ride seat. Not much padding, no power steering. Not much more then wheels and gears. Love the shifting, brings back lots of memories, some good some bad. We did what we had to do. Thanks for the ride.
Truck World was always supper for me on the way out. I would leave Sunday around noonish and be there around 4-5 PM Then stay until I had to go up the road to Kmart in Warren, Ohio to deliver at 3:AM. After I got out of there it was West to Maumee to reload to come back to NJ. Log Book? Nah, I was hauling gardening stuff, NOT logs! Lol! Pennsylvania might as well been the Rockies when I was 24, tired and it was snowing so hard I could barely see outta the windshield of the COE Transtar 2. Great beginning and a good life. 62 year's old now and 38 years later. Jimmy's right. God bless him and you Mike for sharing it with us.
Another outstanding video. Guys like him are the "Real Deal" as you are too Mike. Shelby Elliott was out of The Sikeston, MO. not Oklahoma. I had a friend go to Shelby's back around 1992 to look at a Kenworth A model extended hood. V8 CAT 2 sticks the whole deal.. My friend Tom asked Shelby what his bottom dollar was on the Kenworth. Shelby reached his hand out, shook Tom's hand and told my friend "nice to meet you". Then walked back in the office.
Some things are just cemented in your brain. I don't have to be up now , this is how I ran. Couple hrs sleep git down the road before scales opened . That's how my father and grandfather taught me. My son carry's on the tradition !!!
One older guy who I looked up to as I was learning to drive in the mid 70s...said. "anyone tells you they never grind a gear is a liar"... Dont sweat the grind bro... it happens. Sweet tuck. Nice guy. I got out of trucking in 07... I know theres still a lot of old school drivers out there keeping it real... But man are there ever a lot of complete fools. I see guys just running the left lane... not jumping out for a quick emergency... but sitting there like they belong there. Where the hell did they learn to drive.
Hey Boston Trucker my 6 year old son wants to know if it has two “shticks” does it go even faster? 😂 He loves your vids man, so do I. Congrats on 50K! Well deserved and many more to come.

You better start saving your nickels and pennies Michael you'll be buying that truck its calling your name. An old guy I met years ago he's probably long passed now haven't seen him in 10 years maybe more. He had an old Kenworth LW model with a butterfly hood, he repowered it with 500 horse N14. His big thing was twin sticks I can't remember if it was 5+4 or 6+4. He refused to drive trucks with Eaton Fuller transmissions he was old school he says you can drive a truck more efficiently with two sticks. He could make that old Kenworth move. All the old school drivers I knew over the years when I was in my late teens early 20s they've passed.
The Cat Man is always a great addition to the channel. He definitely takes pride in his ride
No doubt!💯

I bet you guys have some great memories together!
Oh yeah. That could be a video by itself !!😁

Sad to say, but the "Real deal" guys like Jimmy are fading away. God, I love that old two stick Pete! Thanks Mike. Todd Konoske the retired trucker.
That's why need to talk to as many as we can because they have so much to teach.

Your going to have to buy a two stick truck so that you can master it. I could hear Jimmys teeth clinch when you banged that gear. 😂
Hahahaha he was trying to keep me calm so I didn't break it much
Nice
So an ‘88 came factory with a twin stick?…I figured they’d be phased out by then
He's an honest man so I would go with what he said.
