Try checking the clutch basket to see if it has play in it that’s what happened to my ktm 125 and it fixed the rattling
I was happy to see the 125 not collecting dust after 250 build!!! E-bike is always sick too.
Double check everythings tightened down it sounds more like a rattle than a tick especially since it goes away when you rev, but hard to tell through video 🤙
Bro shut up, he built a 250 from scratch I think he knows how to tighten down a bolt

@@huntergodfrey3419 take some of your own advice Tyler is only human and it’s very easy to forget to tighten things or for things to come loose you obviously don’t know how much goes into it no negative is wanted from a bit of advice that was asked for
Mine was doing that and I had to retune the carb and put a new piston and ring in it
Check the stator side, could be a screw that got loose and rattling around, happened to multiple two strokes I've worked on.
I’d doubt it’s the motor seems to run strong, check to make sure everything is tight motor mounts, exhaust etc
My kx 100 had the same problem with the power valve hitting the piston. All you have to do is shave like an 1/8 or a 1/16 of an inch off of the end of the power valve cause if you don’t do it soon enough you’ll get the rings stuck in the piston. Mine was going through pistons and rings in like 2 weeks before I fixed it and now it’s got about 60 hours on this top end and she still runs amazing

Sounds like a bearings going, crank bearing, or rod bearing. Love seeing the 125 content
Could also be the power valve, like you said. Very well could be
check your kick starter out mine was stripped and when i kicked it the kick starer would come up but the piece that spins in there stayed down

Watched a couple times. I just bought a kx 125 looks similar to yours didn't realize how fun it would be to ride it and im stoked next on list is 2022 KTM 250sxf Troy Lee designs edition.

Dude my 1998 KX250 makes that EXACT same sound during the second 3rd of the throttle and for the life of me I cannot track down where it comes from. So far everything seems alright and it's been running like that for a hair over 23 hours so lets see if anything blows up haha
My 2000 of makes the noise when I bought it so I rebuilt it and same exact noise idk it hasn't blown yet.
@@cameronclausse4696 I finally found out what mine was.. and it was the stupidest thing ever. I kid you not dude, it was the springs in my footpegs hahaha they had deformed over years and were so loose, they were rattling loud enough i could hear it OVER the engine somehow, So I took them out, bent them back into shape so they had tension against the frame and the footpeg, and the sound has never came back since
hey i got one of these lectrons definently sounds a 1/4 turn - 3/4 turn too lean itll help your initial roll on to richen it up a little. it shouldnt bog like that and ofcourse a 125 will bog in the wrong gear but when you first get going it makes that loading up sound. that is the lean indication w the lectrons

I had a kx80 did the same thing tightend the clutch basket bolt went away
it's the piston skirts that are worn, at idle and when decelerating it makes noise, when accelerating it doesn't
Check you reeds I've had a cracked one before and it sounded horrible
my cr 125 has that ticking sound to when it’s at idle. it has 10 hours and still runs like the motor is brand new. Your kx kinda sounds like it’s running lean, maybe try ritchining it up a little bit with the metering rod and power jet. but definitely tear it down and check it out
Cr’s are know to have a tick and still be fine , his kx shouldn’t sound like that
Power valve might be barely contacting the piston at low rpm when its at its lowest position.
it almost sounds like a pipe rattle other than that it could be the piston hitting the head which is not good at all

My yz125 had the same noise at high revs and it ended up being the expansion chamber gasket went.

That noise is your exhaust spring there to big which means your exhaust will shake with the vibration of the engine
That ain’t no exhaust spring loose , definitely engine related, bottom end

When you rev the bike the the rattling sounds more like something is loose and the vibrations from the engine are rattling it more so maybe just go through and make sure everything is on tight and in place
Sounds like piston pin is worn to me. It more than likely has play in the small end of the rod.
Good video. I would take the cylinder off and see if the exhaust bridge has a crack in it
I had a yz125 with that sound and it was a loose bolt in the power valves
Crank bearings are bad more than likely. Only use OEM or if you used a hot rods crank send the crank to crankworks and get a good rod and bearing put on it.
I know they don’t make the 125 anymore. What’s a good year to get that can still get parts for ???? Selling my kx 100 to get a 125 !
I had a 2002 kx 125 and it was a beast. I would say 02 and newer is the easiest to find parts for
Get 03-05 preferably an 04 or 05 cuz the 3 is hard to get a pipe for

It happened to me once and it was just the spark plug that had to be tightened up i don't know if that's the problem but you could try
Might be crankshaft bearing, my kx85 sounds the same way and it’s definitely that for my bike so maybe take a look at that
Check to see if the spark plug is loose with the ticking noise
Definitely sounds like detonation or wrist pin bearing
I had a similar problem but found out my bottom frame to engine mounts had broken
check your magneto one of your bolts may have come off, its happened to me before
Sounds like a crank bearing or if you’re lucky one of your hangers might be loose

Had a similar sound on my 250sx. Turned out to be a bad connecting rod bearing. Had lots of play in the con rod on the crank side. Hopefully it’s not that tho
I think it is the power valve because it sounds a bit boge
That sounds to me like a slight bit of piston slap I had this on my old rxs100 when revs given it went away
It goes away because the rpms are up but I'd say that it's ur piston or a bolt is loose down near there or something
The screaming of the 2 stroke is how a dirt bike is supposed to sound.
Looked like you had the caliper pistons in the rong way around last time sounds like the rod on the 125
If you rebuilt the master cylinders make sure you have the seals facing the right way to on the 250
how much in parts would it cost to build kx 125 from start
I feel it would have blown up or at the very least gotten worse wile you were riding if it was crank so I would check your clutch
Sounds more like a loose bolt. Could be internal if you just rebuilt something. Check all bolts

It could be something wrong with the crank or the bearings. Definitely something wrong with the bottom end. :)

Are the motor mounts tight? Mine were snug but not torqued down on my rm and they sounded odd
My kx100 had same noise but a little quieter than that and it ran fine. Never did anything about it and nothing happened

Top end bore could be to big or to small
Check the pipe springs? Maybe one broke
You might have a little bit of play in your crake or your power valve might be loose
Rebuilt my bike same tic but 15 hours in the rebuild nothing happened yet

Piston and or cylinder are wore out. Also sounds like your rod bearing is a bit wore out. Tear it down, time for a rebuild.

sounds like a typical lectron owner.... Throws in it out of the box and its a tad bit too lean and roaches the crank bearings right away....
