Trust me, as a drummer, this half time breakdown was not “good”. Sure, had i been in your position having not drummed before, I would whole heartedly agree with you but there is a whole world out there for you to see. I find heavy metal tends to do a great job of fusing multiple time signatures together in one song
Can we just appreciate how wonderful the drums are. You can change the whole songs vibe just by how you play this instrument. The drums are just perfection.
@@aubiiu6937 the other instruments actually have a way more outsized impact on the "vibe" of a song than the drums do. People just don't understand the drums slash drummers are always in the back so it seems mindblowing to them to learn what they do.
@@rtotheizzle i didn’t say that drums had a bigger or equivalent impact to other instruments, though what would you say is the instrument that has the most vibe impact?
It's just one of the "2" noticable af beats, when ur not a drummer lol (the other one being kick imo) And honestly trying drums, it's just one of the most satisfying things to hit lmfao
well there are exeptions xD i know one of them 😅 since 10 years he plays the same grove without changes on any song 🤣🤣🤣🤣 the best part is, he thinks of himself that he i a genius 🤣
It’s a combination of the drums themselves, the mixing, but ALSO the tuning. Tuning is extremely important for how drums sound and the highest quality material can’t save bad tuning, nor can the best mixing
@supdudehowsitgoing I didn't even know that drums needed to be tuned (except tympani) until I saw our drum line instructor doing it before a big comp. Crazy how much it changes the sound.
Halftime breakdowns is just IT. It has the "It" factor. I could just imagine the halftime breakdown drummer pouring his soul out with that progression while crying and just drumming away like its the last time he is ever going to play the drums. The passion is just special. Unmatched.
Dang man... that right there is it😭 I mean it's different for every drummer but dude, that is best idealized depiction of the potential way it makes people like us feel.
As someone who plays guitar, playing a heartfelt and emotional song you tend to strum the guitar kind of halftime breakdowns. It's just something that feels natural
"Like it's the last time he is ever going to play the drums" feels so accurate man damn, not much of a drummer but even just hearing halftime breakdowns just does something beautiful and tragic to my soul. Absolutely special feeling. Man music is insane
Me (a non drummer): are rainbow goldfish some kind of drumming kit/tech that most drummers would drool over being able to own? Then realizes...nope. Just a box of rainbow Goldfish crackers on the floor 🤣🤣🤣
The marching snare to dramatic buildup is one of my favourite transistions when doing a cover. Idk why but it just brings a lot of emotions, especially in this song
It's so crazy how the different types of drumming changes the WHOLE vibe of the song, the marching snare into the dramatic buildup honestly should be in the original song. Absolutely well done. Even the Travis Barker part, it just changes the WHOLE vibe. It's amazing. Amazing job
Just heard Love Story in my head and I couldn't hear it without the "Overdramatic Buildups" fill I don't think I'll ever hear this song normally in memory again lmfao.
I would listen tf out of a full cover with a mix of “snare guy” “cymbal addict” and “halftime breakdown”and/or”metal” traits, like some parts mainly snare, some parts cymbal heavy, etc. where applicable.
half time breakdown is never not gonna slap

Trust me as a drummer the half time break break down is never not gonna slap
Trust me as a drummer, that half time break down screamed "Open up this f**cking pit!"
Especially when he started playing on the china cymbal.
Trust me as a non-drummer, halftime breakdowns always sound good. Metal bands (especially metalcore) do it often.
Ok metal nerds, come at me.
yess

Well said. Something feels so right about it especially in an emotional song
holy fuck we finally found somebody that perfectly described it

The March drummer/dramatic build is every church song bridge ever 🤣
I love them as a lighting guy
EAT MY DIRT
I wasn’t paying attention at first and thought I found the Christian side of drummer shorts
thats exactly what i thought too lol
Thats wild cause i thought the “guy is isn’t supposed to be playing” was the church guy. But the whole thing has that vibe
The drum stick flip was clean.
I thought i was the only person to realize.😂
The overdramatic buildup guy is just me when Im in a wacky mood
Same lol
Same
Yup
Fr
Overdramatic build up into half time drop goes insane try it sometime
(The Metalhead) cracked my shit up. We are some suckers for that double bass.
Also, this was really well put together. Nicely done, sir
The pop punk and halftime combo always goes hard
ALWAYS!
so hard
Halftime over a guitar solo slaps
Litteraly me every time I play
This is beautiful, you see how the drums can change the whole song
Dude the dramatic buildup and the cymbals directly after are just perfect
And the halftime breakdown
And the pop-punk
Fuck i love drums
The Travis Barker/Halftime/Double Bass Combo will always be undefeated
Bruh idk why but I always make it a point to sneak in a halftime breakdown as much as I can
Your service is appreciated!
You just made this song sound a thousand times better.
The first 3 together actually made this a really cool version of the song
Exactlyyy
The marching snare to dramatic buildup is one of my favourite transistions when doing a cover. Idk why but it just brings a lot of emotions, especially in this song
The marching snare in that pre chorus actually was really great.
I think it's perfect for the track
The marching snare guy makes the song actually something I would listen to 🥹👌
The goldfish just chilling under his seat 💀💀💀
❤😂😂
Bro I had to go back and make sure you weren't talking about an actual goldfish
Its for acoustics
At first I thought you meant an actual fish…
Absolutely
DUDE YOU FUCKING KILLED THIS WTF THIS SOUNDED SO GOOD BRO EVERYTHING HOLY SHIT. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Idk much about drumming, but this is one of the most impressive things I've ever seen in my life... So much talent.
love these my favorites are halftime breakdown, pop-punk and cymbals
I do love putting halftime breakdowns in my music LOL
They all go insanely hard

Except for Travis
@@JamesKovacic it's only partially because it's inappropriate. it's also because he plays it poorly.
That transition from pop punk to half time immediately got my foot tapping and head bobbing
I'm definitely the cymbal addict
for sure
okay genuinely tho this was a very smartly timed and crafted video. Huge respect
you basically described all drummers
because he did? ☠️
Literally the point of the video
Forgot modulating everything :(
the cymbals one is literally Matt Halpern it's like he's playing a game where if a cymbal stops moving he loses
YOU'RE SO TALENTED BRO, YOU NAILED EVERY BIT.
Fucking killed it dude i hope this blows up
This … Phenomenal!!! As someone who played through college I was thoroughly impressed with this creativity and Chops!
I'm all of these guys. Honestly this works incredible as its own arrangement for the song
I literally got goosebumps 😩 this is soooo f ing awesome. My favorite is that over dramatic build up
These all work and actually improve the song. Overdramatic Buildup Guy and Halftime Breakdown Guy are my favorite
Funny cos they're the easiest to do. Sometimes we really gotta keep it simple
So crazy to me how the feel of the song changes so much as he switches styles. I'm not musically-inclined, so this shit amazes me.
There is never an inappropriate moment for a halftime breakdown
I just wanna buy you some inner ears after seeing that cord 😂
Makes this song SOO MUCH BETTER
Why do all of them sound good💀
That ol Travis Barker just makes me want to outrun highway traffic
This guy turns songs I’m indifferent about and makes them masterpieces. Keep up the good work
You killed it bro that was sick
Bro its soooo good. It fits each part of the song this guy is a genius
This is actually one of my fav Taylor Swift songs! Thanks man
I'm glad I'm not the only one who love that halftime breakdown it's just...🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾
Luv the flip of the Drumstick!
Bro the fact that just some good drumming can make this song actually go hard is insane
is it just me or that snare part be hitting different 😅
That's the best part. They all work in their own ways.
Instantly made the song 1000 times better

That was massively entertaining. Cheers brother
Inadvertently the best Love Story drum cover! 😂🤘🏼
Definitely the best Drum cover I've ever heard. Kinda reminds me of travis barker doing the rock band gig
That pop punk got me. I need more of that in my life.
This whole video was the most wonderful thing I’ve ever heard. The drums are so cool
Unironically this was the shit I loved every one of them but that half time was chefs kiss
It's always the halftime breakdowns that gets me.
Your toms sound fantastic
The marching drum part… literally turns the song around. Soooooo good.
I hope you never stop these. 😂
That stick flip was flawless.!!! The exact same way I'd play the song too.!!
You should see her perform love story on tour! I’m pretty sure her drummer does the build up one
Yeahhh
The live version is like this
THAT BUILD UP!!!!!!!!! THAT WAS SO SICK
That stick toss was smooth
I love the cymbals addict, makes my heart happy when you play.
I love how you’re so considerate to your neighbors by wearing headphones so they can’t hear you play.
The marching snare combined with overdramatic sounded awesome
This made me happy! You did great! Well done❤
That drum stick flip was smooth
Which are you? "Every damn one of them."
As a person with adhd the only thing I’m focused on right now is the goldfish
Wow the buildup of skill is insane you rock bro!♥️🤘🏾
This whole video is basically me freestyling over any song. Every single one lol
I literally love the Halle time breakdowns they hit so hard 🔥🔥

The absurd amount of snare ghost notes guy😂😂
my fave is still and always halftime breakdowns guy. off beat guy is a nice close second, he isnt here rn but his presence is remembered.
why do all of these work soo good!?

The mix of all of these guys made this song very interesting to listen to 🔥
But overdramatic buildups are my favourite ❤

Halftime breakdowns will forever be a favorite
I love them all! 😂 I just love drums. I wish I could play (any instrument, frankly).
Dude. This rocks. Keep doing these. You are fantastic and very excellently tuned your toms 👍🏻
Nah you played the drums exactly how they should have been played. Drums should always accent the vocals and you killed it! 🤘
I've tried different variations for the build up towards the chorus but its alwayd the dramatic one that still gets me
Why am I like 60% of these, feeling called out hahah, great content
