Thanks, everyone! I had a great time visiting Sweetwater, and I have never been interviewed by anyone as prepared and easy to talk with as Mitch. It was fun!

I think it's awesome that D.W. Fearn gear is driven by an inventor with musical inspiration. I love it.

Doug's tube preamps are arguably the greatest tube pre's ever made. Definitely worth the (very) high price tag!

I've seen Doug at numerous trade shows and he is the most authentic gear manufacture you will ever meet, no secret special sauce and no overhyped marketing just good solid gear that is head and shoulders above the others. I promise you his gear will outlive anyone that buys it and your grandkids will be able to use it!!

Mr. Fearn was probably the first RUclipsr I started following when I decided I wanted to learn about this stuff. He came to Boston for a talk about DSD and it was really interesting!

I’ve owned the Fearn VT-2 pre for over 20 years. Recently updated my room through Sweetwater with an Apollo/Luna setup. The Fearn is the only hardware pre I kept! Doug is an awesome human as well.

Imagine if D.W. Fearn had been distracted from his destiny by social media? How many D.W. Fearn's are being lost today? I hope we find a balance.

Yes! When I saw that they're charging $200 for a one-space rack panel I got a good relative comparison to other comparable gear. Probably costs 10 or 15 bucks to make the panel. The markup is ridiculous. If that's any relative indication, his gear should be priced at 50% of what he's charging.

@@morrielouden1 Hello. I am part of the D.W. Fearn / Hazelrigg Industries team and I can provide you with a bit of detail. While the VPF is surely not a bargain bin rack spacer, each unit is crafted from locally sourced materials and finished by local craftspeople near our shop in Pennsylvania. Please also note that the materials cost of the raw aluminum and specialized paint that we use for these is in excess of $100 per unit and that is BEFORE the milling and hand applied and polished finish is completed. Once these labor costs are added, we actually net a negative profit on these units as they go out to dealers at their cost. In fact, the only reason that these exist in our product line is as a courtesy to our clients who would like to add a matching vent panel to their VT-2, VT-5 and/or VT-7s. Beyond that, our principals - George and Geoff Hazelrigg - continue to be working, playing and recording Jazz musicians in the Pennsylvania area and mentioned that you may also be working in that area. If so, we'd like to invite you to contact us so that we can arrange a Zoom call or Shop visit in order for you to see first hand what goes into the build of each of our products. Thank you and we look forward to speaking.

@@morrielouden1 I agree, 200 bucks for a rack panel paint job is insane.
