The fact that the tutorial never teaches guns are hitscan and has slow tracers is MINDBOGGLING TO ME. I genuinely thought for 50 hours of infantry fighting that all weapons have no accuracy.
Maybe someone should start a clan on each side of the war and call it [Drill Sgts] or something, and primarily help new players with regular "boot camps".
I have 1600 hours in Foxhole and I still remember back when I played for the first time. I was doing things that I shouldn't have been doing which could've been seen as alt behavior. I then met one guy who helped me learn and understand the basics of the game like logistics and basic combat and made myself useful very quickly. He was very patient with me and it was a very positive learning experience. When I see a new player that doesn't know what they're doing and is potentially and unknowingly harming their teammates, it's important to assume that they're just a new player and not an alt. I could've stumbled into the wrong guy when I started playing and it could've gotten me banned and made me quit the game before even playing. Those first interactions with new players are extremely important and is what makes people want to keep or stop playing the game. Great video btw!
Same! I definitely remember going into random players bases and messing around with stuff I shouldn't have. It's unfortunate that a new players experience is left up to chance if they meet a nice person or salty person ha. Wish we had like a set list of players that would be "mentors" or something that new players could see a list of in game if they are online and contact them for help or something ya know? That would be so awesome. Thanks for sharing your experience! And thanks for the kind words!
The problem is the reason people do things they shouldn't do is that it doesn't make sense. Harvesting resources from a field is not harmful to your faction, period. The fact that clans get this idea that claiming a field is a positive behavior and new players that don't understand the claiming system, because it objectively doesn't make sense, being told later that "they shouldn't have been doing that" is a load of crap. A big part of the game is back end logistics, and clans wanting to monopolize resource nodes is counter intuitive to that purpose, period.
My major issue with Foxhole is the weird current cult of personality surrounding SecretBismarck. For those new to Foxhole, Bismarck used to be a seemingly helpful member of the community, writing up manuals to teach new players and whatnot. However, as is the case with various "vets" (people who play foxhole for too long begin to suffer from brain rot, and actually believe they've experienced war from playing a video game), this took a turn for the worse. In an attempt at misguided vigilantism, Bismarck has taken it upon himself to "uncover" building exploits/glitches/bugs for the devs to fix. Well, that's what he tells himself anyway. Instead of finding said exploits for the pure purpose of removing them, he instead deploys them to his regiment's advantage, in active combat zones, and to the very least of my knowledge, has done so for the last 10 wars (well except when NEP quit because of Warden Bober exploits, ironic doesn't begin to cover it). I'm a builder in Foxhole, and I'll be the first to admit it is wank. However, creating new forms of glitches (Bismarck Cores, as he has so humbly named them, gravel foundations surrounding BB, making it nigh unkillable) isn't going to improve that.
I have noticed this a lot more frequently as well with Bismarck and a lot of vet players that find out exploits. They are under the impression that if they abuse them as much as they can it will help the developers remove them faster. Which I haven't really seen from Siege Camp. It's fine to try and figure out these exploits and find out how they work just don't use them against the other faction.
I remeber when at least 2 clans on each side got banned for abusing the relic bunkers to store stuff for future wars, ONE was a clan involved hated those guys
Honestly there should be some kind of mentoring system where regiments can volunteer to become a mentor regiment and when new players log in they get given the list of these regiments on their side, what they do and a link to the respective regiments discord. This would help get new players in touch with experienced players who are willing to teach them
I've mentioned this in couple post as well about a mentor system. There should be list some place of trusted Foxhole players that shows up in game and you can see if they are online and whisper or contact them to ask questions or get help. Something to connect new players faster to those willing to train them would be great. New player sometimes just ask in chat which is good but another step to it would be nice.
This is a good idea, however there are quite a few large regiments filled with those salty vets that would sign up for this. Someone at siege camp would have to review mentorship positions to ensure they aren't going to regiments with griefing/alting history. Would hate for a new player to join a large regiment and get into the mindset of "I'm in a bigger regiment than you, so I can do whatever I want".
@@awowadas True that's a good point. The mentors would have to be vetted. Could have it if the mentors get complaints about them they are kicked out of the program. No second chances or anything.
Simplest solution seems to be hiring someone at siege camp who's only job is interacting with the community via dev blog, discord, and through the in-game reporting system. All those negative reviews about toxic vets and clans are 100% true, and completely deserved. The only people who are able to fix the mass reporting situation is siege camp. They NEED to be reviewing these automated suspensions, removing the suspensions that are erroneous, and then suspend EVERYONE who filed a false report for a full week. The only way to fix the problem at this point is to actually punish the people taking advantage of the in-game systems to grief another player(s). Taking the game away for a week for these vets will immediately have a positive effect.
Community Manager position would be pretty cool. Yea some of these vets I agree do need a reality check that they aren't in charge. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this!
Simplest solution is to update and rework tutorial. Main problem of game is that vets have no choice . Teaching new players is obligatory . You either teach them, instead tutorial, or they become time delayed bomb for your team. Why can't they just update tutorial? There is so many mechanics which have to be explained by vets ,but all them are same. How do you think, after how many new players teached by you ,you figure out , that you repeating same problematic things again and again. You become NPC, you become tutorial . This is not okay. Teaching for vets is another grind. Grind in game makes people toxic. Explaining basics is job of game, not vets. Expierience of new players depends on grind and time spend by other players. You've teached 10 people, 20 people, 40 people and etc. Some of them are just random dudes and some are your clanmates so you can track their ingame route. Well, you have clan with flow of new players, you teach them instead tutorial again and again, not about advanced things, just basics ,about logi and building. Most of them will understand ,that for most movements in game you need logi grind. So they leave game and never return, because you quickly open them eyes on how this game works. You wasted time on them. But some of them will accept it and stay. Those will split on casual players who will not grind at all , and no lifers , who will try to build their bases and facilities, who will supply everything, and who will do logi. Amount of wasted time melts your morale pretty quick.
@@RobertLovesGames Wait when did you start playing because there was a dedicated community manager position at one point but he gradually moved out of that role. Also, player vote bans can be appealed with the support system which will in fact get investigated. The original comment is highly overblowing the problem.
@@stavros6969 they do? could have honestly fooled me by their inability to even communicate patch notes to players for the last 3 minor updates. Kind of feel bad for them, any company in the future that looks them up for a CM position is going to see how bad they were in the role.
I’ve had a fair few really bad experiences sadly with my 200+ hours so far starting back in war 108. The worst was the start of 109, my group claimed and found a good spot for our base. Then, Russian clans within the area all decided in a private discord call that one of their clans claimed that land and all proceeded to evict us without warning a week into the wipe. They just showed up and with broken English we managed to figure out what they wanted. Eventually we compensated if they helped us move and gave us stuff but it sadly broke the morale for most of our group and we were less than half the size as we started because no one could be arsed grinding again from the ground up. Apart from that, still fun. There is in game politics between clans and I’ve now joined 27th this current war with a bunch of our original group. It’s…. Interesting to say the least, looking at the clan/regiment perspective.
Yea the SIGIL 3rd party Discord system for claiming spots in Foxhole can be a pain. Especially for new players that don't even know it exist. Most people ignore that 3rd party system and go by first come first serve. As I mentioned in the game if they start teamkilling or destroying you can just report them and it might get solved. Unfortunately it may not get solved that day. I've normally just skipped the headache and found a new place to build my base. Sorry that happened to you though :/ And yea sometimes the other war in this game is with inner faction clan battles. I like that you all tried to meet halfway with them that was really nice of you! Hope you all are having better with 27th! They are a great group! Thanks for sharing your experience with this!
It's not "Russian clans all decided", it's the "awesome" system there clans have to be part of some "me and my friends" discord to get access to good spots. And "Russian clans" have to be a part of it or some random clan will come and destroy their facility saying that they had a "legitimate claim" in discord. Don't let me start how fast it turns into abusing the difference in fluent english and calls for mass report.
11:10 Just a note here for any new player, some logi clans or even just normal clans are gonna be happy to give you their outdated vehicles such as tankettes or scout tanks during late game, they don't cost that much resources and sometimes newer clans overproduce them and just get a huge stock of vehicles that they probably wont use.
Exactly! When you get to late war you can basically use any vehicle besides an SHT or BT. I've found that joining BT groups is still kind of easy to do when wars get past 25 days though. Thanks for sharing this!
@@RobertLovesGames Though I personally have never joined a SHT or BT group, just feels like a goal too far for me even as a small - medium sized logi group leader lmao.
Honestly, if you ask a clan nicely half the time they give you anything for free. Most vets are very relaxed and friendly. Like real life, its about attitude. Youre nice, people are nice to you too
One thing I find is that the revolving door of new players will grind away at your patience. You can explain the same 8 hours of information only so many times to people before you just have to stop. Its bloody exhausting that the devs rely on us to be the game's tutorial.
I agree. I have gotten tired explaining the same logi speech before to a new player. Definitely need something on the home island that helps with this.
We have 3 ~45minute-1hour training sessions you have to do to become a full regi member for ours, one in logistics, infantry and combat engineering (building) everyone has to go through it and a lot of people at least pick up some tips and info. It gets updated every so often and different trainers will put their own spin on the thing but there's still interest. When I first played as a solo player there was someone running training classes on home island and that helped a lot honestly.
New player - I've gotten plenty of help from vet pleyers who are happy to help with any questions I have to ask, the only negativity I've gotten or toxicity from other players is from the opposing enemy side. Which I mean, *we're at war* of course they're gonna tell me to "off myself." I don't think there is as much toxicity in the game as the reviews believe, more that it is a communication issue. I mean everytime I respawn at a bunker there's always that one vet player being super helpful telling new players what to do and how they can help. Right now my biggest issue with the game is the logistic delivery's, bringing a bunch of guns but no ammo for those guns. Nothing makes me realise that we've lost a frontline foothold then seeing 200+ respawn tickets but having only 42 rifles with only 20 something ammunition for those rifles. For any logistics players reading, if your gonna bring respawn tickets for players bring as many rifles and ammo for those players to use, we're not gonna win this war with sidearms alone😂
Welcome to Foxhole! Glad you have only gotten negativity from opposing side. That honestly rarely happens as well. Most people say GG and make cross voice chat fun. Vet players at bunkers telling players what to do are normally right in what you should be doing but sometimes just don't say it the right way lol. I do logi a lot! If I see a lot shirts (tickets) in the bunker and low guns I normally bring a lot of rifles and 7.62. In one crate you can bring a ton of 7.62. If you are on the front and see you are low make sure to make a map post with "logi list" and request rifles and ammo with the front you are on. Or type in logi chat what you need and where you are at. Let me know if you have any other logi questions and I'd be happy to answer them! Hope you keep having a good time with Foxhole! It's a great game!
I can recommend you to invent or use existed pyramids of supply. Which help you to find out what and in how many you should delivering in bbs, town halls, relics etc. Better bring 10 less shirts sometimes and pick one more crate of at or ammo. It takes 20-30 seconds more to figured what really in need on frontline, but then you can realy improve you logi effectiveness in game by using this pyramids.
sometimes resources get burnt fast they probably had a reasonable amount of ammo before everybody started reloading rifles can be nearly immoral if you have bring loot back to base
Some good advice here for new players. But ultimately this community issue is just a symptom of the bigger problem of how poisonous alting is to the community. I made it past the new player experience but ultimately quit the game when I realised that the chronic level of alt facilitated partisan strikes just made building high tier facilities not worth the effort.
I think alting has decreased a lot though honestly. But I think we still have our same level of paranoia mindset we had when alting was its worse. Dang that stinks :/ sorry to hear that! Thanks for sharing your experience though! Appreciate it!
The list of Do's and Don'ts can be expanded upon by distinguishing what is considered a logi town from the start of the war and those which are not. Then make said list always appear before they spawn in the hex, and make the list toggleable on the settings to not annoy vets. Like the TF2 tips system when you connect into a match. Just make it nice and short, like most good introductions should be.
I like that idea! It could sort of be like the Code of Conduct that pops up in home region. Or maybe they could just add on to Code of Conduct a little more? I like this! Thanks for sharing this!
Or even an admittance that the tutorial island isn't a great start. Have a big splash screen that pops up the first time you spawn in a war "Foxhole is a large game with many moving parts. If you are a new or returning player, ask your fellow players if you need help with any of the following: (a bulleted list of game aspects like creating items, logistics, building, medicing, and on and on)" The community is already largely willing to accept new players, it often just takes a question ✋😔🤚
Love the name and shame idea for folks abusing the report button. I don’t consider it “witch hunting” if you have the receipts or proof to back up your claims. Unfortunately, folks who are community mods don’t agree with that sentiment. Last time I made a video name and shaming a salty player, the FOD community mod team gave me a warning and removed the video from the discord channel lol. I will say they also timed out the salty player but it’s weird that calling out toxic behavior can get you in hot water too. Great video Rob!
With how the social interaction in this game works it really is a shame that if you try and call someone out for being toxic that there is a possibility that you might get in trouble as well. Thanks for sharing your experience with this! I had no idea that happened to you! Thanks for the kind words and your support!
I followed general etiquette by not taking what wasn't mine, but starting toward the beginning of the war in the backline may have helped. I asked questions then anounced I was new to the game. I usually always got help, and people told me about their fear of alts. Many of my starting questions were whether or not I could take things, because I knew it took time and resources to make everything. Joining the game for logi may have affected the way I approached the game. I think I went on a rant, but this time it felt right.
This is basically how I started the game as well. I got Foxhole because of logi. And logi are like the nicest people in the game so I think our experience is why we haven't had as many bad experience with Foxhole. 99% of logi bros are super patient and kind unlike the more combat focused players. This was a great rant and great read for new players if they are looking through this comment section! Thanks for sharing this!
0:30 YOOOO. That guy, DVSwhitescar, have 5 accounts in Foxhole and you could often see nicknames "DVSwhitescar" and "DVSwhitescar5" in the list of players on server. He just used them to flagged, if some building was in the way. He won't cooperate, he talk less and he wanted only what he needed and he dont care. if someone wanted to give him access to resources and use factory, he refused because he wanted to do it his own way. What's why "community in it are awful" Hard to say, play 5k hours in foxhole - that's wild and cool
Oh wow I didn't catch that! He sounds like a super toxic sweaty vet honestly. Not someone I would want to play with. Hopefully he is not around much. Thanks for sharing that!
I’m not sure what the devs have done to mitigate alting but I’ve definitely still seen it even in this most recent war. My clan’s solution was to essentially have a “guard” if we had a vehicle we really didn’t want stolen that we couldn’t put in the seaport. We had our fair share of “hey do you need help?” With low ranks wandering our facility and some would just be looking for the front or something and we’d help them but most wouldn’t reply and just run away. We’d never know if that was just some younger player scared of some random person talking to them or an alt potential scouting our base. So yeah the alt paranoia is real
I have a slide in the video that shows somethings they have added. Like if someone throws a logi truck full of supplies into the water the supplies actually just go back in to the seaport. Where in the past they were actually lost. They have made a lot of small changes but they have helped a lot honestly. Yea unfortunately it's still really hard to tell ha. Having a guard is a good idea. Or at least someone with radio and checking on your base for any circles every now and then is a good idea as well. Thanks for sharing your experience with this!
We have a similar experience then. I'm about 1,000 hours and I've had many 3-4 "vets" yell at me for doing something and I've only had to mute couple people for being toxic. Thanks for sharing your experience!
@@RobertLovesGamesi had one toxic moment out of 200 hours; when i was trying to do arty and one guy got frustrated and kicked me out . But i guess thats fustration as we were losing
930 Hours here and I can tell you that, there is NOT a time i log in where there is NOT any toxic players. Also played on both sides many many times and this isn't just a one side issue. Too many people in this game think that they have some kind of dominion over others. It is honestly down right disgusting and does not surprise me of the way the community has turned toxic towards new players, or people outside their circle.
My worst experience which is 50/50 split in chat was half the people thinking it's "part of the game" to have other players take anything they want from your private base and if you don't have everything you own in a private stockpile instead of a private bunker base on your own island then it's your fault and everything should be free. Had my base I work for so long for on partisan island basically destroyed by friendlies who believe they could take whatever they wanted. When posted in chat 50% said this was okay while the other half backed me. The good thing was 2 nearby clans basically tried everything they could to help get me back to speed but I was kinda done after that and am on a long break from the game.
I honestly think some supplies can be taken from some bunkers. My example would be having a tank on frontline and we run out of ammo. There is a close midline bunker with 100+ shots. We will go take some of those to get back to the frontline to support as fast as we can. I think taking resources from bunkers in backline is not something you should do though 99% of the time. People destroying bases is never good. Did they explain why it needed to be destroyed? Sorry that happened to you :/ Thanks for sharing your experience and stories with this issue. Appreciate it!
@@RobertLovesGames If its public, its public. Supplies rotting in Backline dont help anybody. Things that are vital for Bases like Msupps and Shirts arent easy to take out anymore like it was in Beta
Yeah I mean shit in public stockpile is up for grabs. Doesn’t mean it’s not shitty to move certain things like fuel or base supplies or whatever, but it’s going to happen if it’s public. That being said anybody intentionally destroying supplies should be reported. As a regiment we have to consider overstocking our bases and shit for pubs. That’s how the game is. We can’t except every player to make their own shit and make their own bases. And honestly without pubs we don’t really have a game. They’re the backbone of the game as the majority of players are solo casual players. So we take that into account building our shit and making things available. Isn’t this normal to understand? Maybe more people are selfish and shallow minded than I thought.
@@Kesen2003 Late to this but exactly, in my base, it was pretty good rule that our storage was open to the public, and that anything in there *may* get taken or relocated. same with all of our vehicles, but it was the people who would come in the night when we were off line, and literally siphon our fuel, steal all our bmats- and supps and than fuck off that pissed us off, this was before you could see the logs on these things too.
I can honestly say, I played with a group of friends and we spent 5 days farming and assembling 3 trucks of artillery and ammunition, we took them to a city on the front and for those who know how artillery works, you can't use it anywhere due to the wind , distance, etc... We had information that an enemy convoy would pass carrying resources and the only area we could hit them was next to the city's respawn, we had about 30 seconds to get there, aim and fire, in this rush we ended up that we ran over a person because the city was busy, this person spent the next 4 hours following us, trying to steal our ammunition and vehicles and cursing us in the voice, after that we started to simply report anyone in their first "troll" attitude, then a few weeks ago we reported a guy who had entered our truck and after that he said in the chat that he was a newbie and didn't know how to play, FoxHole's biggest current problem is exactly that the line between a "newbie" and a "troll" is so tenuous that without dialogue it is impossible to differentiate, and this is caused exactly by the lack of a learning curve provided by the game to newcomers.
Oh my gosh! I'm sorry that happened that is so annoying! And I agree it's really hard to know where that line is. And I agree that the lack of tutorial is a cause of this. Thanks for sharing that story and your thoughts on this!
my rank is OCdt. Recently, at the end of the war, we were surrounded in breakwater, me and a few other colonials were guarding the northern road, then a warden ran and instead of shooting at him, we started larping, that we were a free republic, we were talking about the new update and stuff, then a major ran and he started shouting at us, he tried to kill us, but we defeated him, and literally 10 seconds later, he started yaping on world chat that we were giving out Intel to our enemies, teamkilling, and generally being alts, luckily, my clan found out about it and we were spared. sorry for my english
lol some people take this game way to seriously sometimes. Glad you all were having a fun time! Thanks for sharing your story! And you had great english! Really easy to read.
Newish player, 95% of people are great. Unfortunately I had a run in with the 5%. I killed an enemy, picked up his flamethrower to take it back to BB. But having never seen or used one before, I decided to give it a blip - I fired for half a second at nothing just to see the effect. A salty vet appeared out of nowhere immediately, screaming STOP WASTING FUEL!!!! It's like, dude. I captured this for the team, I'm bringing it back. I literally tapped the mouse to witness the fire. Muted him and moved on.
Sorry you had to run into the 5% of those toxic players! It seems like you handled it the best way and the way everyone should handle it! Mute and move on. Thanks for sharing this! This should help other new players understand that unfortunately yes these situations still happen but they can be dealt with.
Sadly it happens way too often. I hear people say "I don't trust no rank players" or "I don't trust a clanless person." I heard this yesterday while in reaching trail.
True! Like I said in the video even myself after 1,000 hours in this game is little paranoid around no or low ranks. But I try to help them first and make sure they aren't up to anything. I've actually never seen any crazy trolling or alting first hand. I've never really heard that people don't trust clanless players! Interesting! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this!
@@RobertLovesGames The issue with the clanless players is when you're high rank and no clan. It makes you wonder how they got that high without working with anyone. That's the big paranoia on that one. That's something shady's going on to get that high.
@@RobertLovesGames Yes, because if they have no rank no one will trust them, but if they have an actual rank then people are more likely to trust them if they're going to alt. So it stands to reason that if you see a person with no regiment tag, you might question them a little bit. Not to say that's the case with everyone that has a rank but no tag.
It really is a make or break for some of those new players with the stories I've heard. Some new player literally quit Foxhole just because they met a salty vet within their first 2 hours of playtime. I think it kind of stinks that sometimes the player retention is based on luck and who you meet when you first play.
@@RobertLovesGames Problem is that "salty vet" meet those 20-30 per day, of course they will lash it out on someone. But where are clips where salty vet actually helps the guy?
Most annoying thing sometimes is seeing rankless or low rank players running around, try to reach out to them in both chat and voip to ask if they need help, and they just run away without communicating. Although i and my acquaintances have some success stories, sometimes training and introducing players to the game is pyrrhic, because once they learn the logi system they'll log out and never return.
Agreed! That makes me even more paranoid! I normally follow them around even longer if I have time. I've had that plenty of times as well of teaching new players and never really seeing them again. I just trained a guy in one of my most recent videos and I would not be surprised if he didn't come back and play Foxhole lol. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience with this! Also thanks for training new players!
Yeah, I'll fully admit that I wanna pick up foxhole but all the negative reviews about the community have given me pause. I've been banned in New Worlds due to an erroneous mass report. I cheered in GC for another company when they took a region. The company that lost that region mass reported everyone that cheered. Couple that with social anxiety, I find it hard to relate to civilians after my military service, and I'm just happy to live foxhole vicariously though youtube. Keep up the good work mate.
Rightfully so. And I appreciate that you can enjoy Foxhole though RUclips though! If you ever do decide to get the game hit me up on Discord and I will see if I can help you get the lay of the land :D Thanks for your support!
The new player mass reporting problem ties into the Alt cheating problem. If a person makes an Alternate account and uses it to hand over a whole bunch of materials from a collie supply depot to the warden side whats to stop them from claiming "Oh im r nub, I make mistake."
Oh for sure. The devs have no put some other mechanics in the game to prevent that from happening as often. But your right we still do need mass reporting for those situations.
The devs are unfortunately not that concerned about the quality of life in this game. I know they've been busy introducing naval warfare, but that has introduced many more balance issues that the game is seeing now. There is still so many issues this game has, and I wish they would communicate more about smaller changes that help new and veteran players. The next changes should really look back on all the content that was released and introduce balance/quality of life changes, so this game can be more enjoyable for everyone.
I agree with you. I think they focus on adding to many new mechanics and vehicles and just need to spend some time polishing what they already have. I think we all knew there would be balance issues with the new ships. It's going to be while before those get remotely close to balanced. Again I agree with you completely. Hopefully we see some quality of life changes in these next minor updates. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this!
CB is the only person in Foxhole that can be trusted. Everyone make sure to hand over all your goods to him if you see him on the battlefield. He will single handedly win you the front!
Being still newish, I’ve had my share of uh-oh moments, but I’ve also had my share of willing vets show me the ropes from both sides, I’ve accidentally team killed on multiple occasions, but I’ve also been killed for it on multiple occasions, however I’ve never gone out of my way to seek revenge, at the end of the day communication like you said is key, take everything that happens with a grain of salt, sometimes people get out of hand because they cannot cope or choose to be jerks, sometimes stuff happens and people recognize that, others may not, all in all I’m happy for the experiences lived and learned thus far, just remember you get to choose how to act or react regardless, some people are slow to learn and others are fast, it comes down to who is willing to teach and those who are willing to learn, respect your enemies and your allies and the game is that much more fun for all around, my number one rule is just don’t be toxic.
Thanks for sharing this! Your experience as a new player helps other new players as well! I like you mentioning about choosing how you react. Respect is the number one game here and like you mentioned not being toxic. Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts on this! Appreciate it!
Went through tutorial area, spawned onto the front, walked behind a tank to pick up an injured player when a tank crew started yelling at me, dismounted and tk me for" Walking behind the tanks". Came back told them I was new and didn't know that was a thing so they killed me again, told me they would report me if I came back so i quit.
Unfortunately this situation does happen. Sorry to hear that :/ If you ever come back to the game I would be happy to help you learn and help you find more positive people to play with. Honestly those players that tk'd you could be reported and banned especially if caught doing that on video. Sorry again that happened to you and thanks for sharing your experience!
@@RobertLovesGames Hey its all good Iv been apart of the milsim community for about 7 years and with any clan based game like this you are going to have some of the most toxic groups mixed in with the good ones. Thankfully after that some logi guys heard me and offered to teach me how to play, which was nice since I mainly bought the game for logi part of it. If i remember right it may have been the tank crews in your newest video since that was the first battle I joined into. I recognized the defenses since I helped build them along with some people running around.
Players are a little uptight about stuff in this game. I think the most important thing to remember is - the map is huge - so if you aren't jiving with a group, go queue up and go to another front somewhere. You can always go far into the back to a seaport town, and ask someone to help you get a truck and load it, then take it to the front. I started in foxhole driving b-mats and shirts. Just a huge truck load of shirts and drive it somewhere nearby that needs it.
Just a couple days ago I logged on in some spare time. When I did I saw "vets to X to help with an op". So I, a Warden with 4800 hours and Lt. Col rank whose never been collie, went to help. Not going to get into details but the op got qrf'd quick. I was then accused of being an alt by a certain regiment and killed even. I chose to go find the accuser and speak to him. After I explained my hours and commitment to Warden they then said "this is our front go somewhere else". I told them I paid the same amount as you, and I'm here to help. I was agitated by this point and kind of RP'd out of it by saying "I'm a Lt. Col. Alts are no ranks or low ranks. I have better stuff to do than prove my innocence to you." And walked away. The moral of the story is nobody is safe and the fact as a "medium" rank Warden I shouldn't be accused of it but it does happen. I just so happen to not have a clan tag either. Just thought I'd share another story. Most of the community is great though. Always bad apples here and there. Also, miscommunication. I forgot to mention the regiment above spoke French and I don't.
Wow WTF! I might get hate for this but I think we need to know who the accuser is ha. That is just a terrible attitude to have in this game and is not needed. This is a great example to share. You are right that really nobody is safe from this happening and it should be noted that this is rare but it does happen. Language barriers can certainly be tough in Foxhole and cause issues nothing most of us can do about that. But still I think we should know who these paranoid people are so that at least when other people run into them they know "oh that is jimmy he thinks everyone is an alt" lol. Thanks again for sharing this and sorry that happened to you!
People definitely are quick to blame failures on alts, I was part of a rocket arty surprise strike last war on a nuke, it failed when the 15 skycallers ran into spathas waiting just over the border. People started saying how could they know, I pointed out the fact we had been partially on tower vision, directly engaged multiple enemy players and were two hexes behind enemy lines. I think maybe the enemy simply knew how to qrf
Should be noted, I had 100 hours of foxhole with nobody on discord to play with, and my Hotspot being used as my internet meant I couldn't access ANY communication system in game, no VOIP, and thanks to "Disconnected from voice channel" and "Connecting to voice channel" spammed into the chat log so I couldn't communicate via text either....so making everything be based on PLAYERS teaching you is madness. The tutorial island SUUUUCKS and should have useful advice, not just be a deployment zone.
I have to semi agree with you that it's madness but I love that it's a new way for players to learn the game. Not to call you out specifically but not many players can't communicate at all ya know? But I agree that the tutorial should be updated and more useful. Thanks for sharing your experience with this!
I got mass reported for scrooping, they had "claimed" the node and decided that it was a good thing to mass report players for just trying to help. It IS the number 1 issue and it is an issue with the mentality that clans are their own faction.
Oof! Sorry to hear that :/ some people can be real jerks about resources sometimes. And I agree that this is still the number one issue with Foxhole. Though this type of situation I've found only happens to a small amount of the player base it's still not a good thing for it to continue. I hope the devs can continue to find ways for us to work together instead of clans thinking they need to horde all the resources. Thanks for sharing your experience with this!
I remember when i first played. I mean it really wasnt that hard to blend in. I head straight to the Frontline. Asked how to equip stuff and bayonet and they answered. Easy peasy. I slowly started to branch out to logi just by observing or looking up how to online.
If you have a mic and talk a lot it's really easy to not be suspected as an alt. Vets get paranoid with no rank or low ranks who are wondering around in random areas or getting in the way. Not because they are bad but because they think it's an alt trying to harm them on purpose. Communicating right away when you are new helps make Foxhole a lot easier for sure. Thanks for sharing your experience with this!
Love the videos, has been a great help getting caught back up since I am a returning player. How other games like POTBS handled player based economy differently with out the way to restrict resources. That way the resources could not be monopolized by a clan. The creative ways clans block access for others to resources, (Sulfur, Scrap, Components) should result in the entire clan being banned for a week. That would be harsh enough to make sure that it will not happen and the clan would self police. The devs could also encourage free use factories that are designated as public use only player buildings with a (faster build speed and/or lesser cost).
So far, I haven't had a negative experience. But I've only been played for around 10 hours so far. I also ask questions and see what needs to be done that I either can do so far, or follow someone to learn what I don't know.
Welcome to Foxhole! Glad you haven't had any negative experiences so far! Because of the way you are playing by asking questions and who needs help you really shouldn't run into to many toxic players. This is normally how I play and out of 1,000 hours I have probably had 3-4 toxic player interactions and I just muted them. Let me know if you have any questions about the game! Thanks for sharing your experience!
I remember that within my first hours of playing that I A. Accidentally stole a truck full of R mats B. Nearly stole a train from the same clan as it was full and I believed it needed transport to the front C. Killed a guy and his team in a colonial tank as I thought they were some sort of spy class. Fun times.
In my opinion, the best thing the dev's can do is mitigate the damage griefers can do and give players better methods of protecting their stuff from griefing. Removing the griefers ability to grief is often better than hunting down the griefers themselves. It's the main reason why we have reserve stockpiles, it's also the reason why we can lock our vehicles. It's also the main reason the facilities have the friendly fire immunity with the 5 person flag requirement to remove them. These are all countermeasures designed to mitigate the potential damage of griefers by limiting their ability to get away with their actions. Having more logs and information tends to help reduce the amount of paranoia we need to express. Currently our best "behavioral" solution that we can do is to attempt talking to the player first before jumping to conclusions. Most griefers and troll's don't respond to chat, so once they refuse to respond in both voice and text chat, then you can safely escalate as needed. But most of the time if you talk with the individual you can clear up misunderstandings and get things taken care of. It's much harder on an active front where resources are limited and someone just so happens to suicide the last very important asset your team had left. Like the last push 68mm gun that was holding the enemy tanks back suddenly got flipped around or pushed directly into the enemy to get captured or killed. But the unfortunate best way to avoid losing your temper with these individuals is to just bring more equipment so it doesn't matter if they lose them. Extra logistical work ends up being the most passive way of addressing the problem. Create such an overabundance of important equipment that neither the griefers nor the new players could expend the critical equipment faster than you bring it in. Though, it can be difficult to keep up when the new players coming in outnumbered the logi players providing, as you have seen from the interview with me. But it's either we suffer more, or the new player experience suffers more. I just hope more people learn logi coming in because the information helps alot for what you should do on the frontline.
I agree with having more abilities to remove griefers ability to grief rather than putting more responsibilities on the players. The devs in their defense have come a long way to adding things to the game that help us spend less time hunting down griefers. And this is what I do with new players is try to talk to them. I actually followed two no ranks around for 30 minutes trying to talk to them. They eventually got onto their mics and were upset that I was following them and they didn't speak English as their first language so it was hard to communicate. I found out eventually they were trying to find a mortar halftrack to take to the front to play. I helped them out and moved on. But I was nervous the whole time following them that they might be trying to sabotage something. Another situation I had to go off of your examples is we had a town base that was about to be taken over. A low rank that was not speaking kept spawning in and taking all the rpg anti tank shots and used them on logi trucks near the town base. Enough of us eventually saw and just took turns team killing him when he spawned until he left the hex. I reported and believe I got a in game response back that they had been banned not long after that. And I agree with you that make it hard for the griefer to grief you. Make the time that they use to do it so invaluable. I hear a lot of people thinking that this new facility update will bring griefers to their facilities. But I keep thinking that is a lot of work for a griefer to do to keep one or several facility buildings griefed. Does not seem worth their time. Maybe I am not seeing the full picture yet though. I'm an outlier in this probably but if we had to choose I would rather suffer more to stop an alt than have the new player experience suffer. The new player experience is already lacking so much that I like I already do would spend hours to help new players or help stop a griefer if it meant the new players experience would be better. As always thanks for your thoughts on this. Cheers!
Glad this helped! And I would say so. Especially when sometimes you need to have patience and work with others :D Feel free to DM me on discord if you have any other questions about the game or if you need help learning anything!
always listen to veteren players ever since i started playing, one of the best and welcoming communties ive seen, met alot of good people had experiences like no other
When we first returned to a game recently with friend (Cpl's), while was figuring what to do and wondering around in process, inspecting surroundings for ourselves, we instantly was suspected as alts. Our luck was: suspecting guys discussing that in hex chat, and me who can communicate on ENG despite we both RU; so i managed to notice it in time and kindly convince guys that we are just noobs yet. And for us its not something exceptional, we understand why this happened and took it really easy, but sad fact majority of new players may be offended, or just being blindly reported as they dont clue about chat or can't communicate on ENG or at least same native as suspecting guys.
Hmm.. They could look into putting in a volunteer moderator program. Some players who love the game would probably be willing and be mature enough to moderate the game.
I actually really considered buying and playing foxhole but the reviews save me from it, it’s not just a couple they’re a ton of negative reviews and toxic to new players is always good to avoid. Especially since it’s a team driven game if you can’t get by in a positive community your motivation will dwindle quickly
Makes sense and I agree. Unfortunately some new players run into the negative players first in game instead of the super helpful nice positive ones. I get why people wouldn't want to play this game because of that. Hope the devs can figure something out to fix that some day. Thanks for your thoughts on this!
I think the community is mostly ok but it is a true multiplayer game not a simultaneous single player game your decisions will matter to the guy next to you but for the most part we are all trying to win the same war I mostly play solo and the clans haven't really bothered me because I know how to get my own truck and know most of the other minor rules the main internal team competition I usually have is raceing people to get Rmats for the cool loot. when I started the game I was a petty thief because its hard to learn the entire economy immediately and in order to start you need a truck so I would unlock locked vehicles in town and use them to start getting goods flowing to the front most were probably just abandoned but a rare few were hidden loot boxes(which I would then relock in my own name because I couldn't unbreak the lock) I did more help than hurt but I was definitely inconveniencing people early on
I think the biggest source of this problem is facilities, facilities are too hard for new players to try to learn as they can do a lot of damage from not knowing how the game works, facilities do not allow for collaboration
I completely agree. You can't really do facilities alone and new players who probably like the idea of Factorio or something like that think they can come in and do that in Foxhole. Then other groups get made about mssups in the region or something. I think facilities can allow for collaboration but only between clans not individual players really. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this!
definitely need a better way to indicate public vs private facilities even as a veteran I still end up stealing petrol a few times until bothering to go hunting for the gas station
I honestly have a hard time getting into this game. One thing that would really help is if these large clans that have the resources specifically targeted new players for recruitment and took them under their wing.
so there are more problems as a non clan affiliated person, clans will also tend to claim a are and resouces especially component spawn areas making it nigh impossible to make anything above basic supplies and clans also tend to hoard materials that could very well mean the difference between success or failure in a nearby battle. I remember running logi to origin and passing multiple pallets of arty shells and could not access them to bring to the front and there were the clan members online at the time ignoring origins pleas for arty shells. Clans get rather elitist as well and can sour the experience for those of us who cant spend more than a couple of hours in the game a week.
I've played on both sides and while there are a few clans who "hoard" resources most resources are still easy to get to make whatever you want. Just depends where you are in the war and where you are in the tech tree. Like once light tanks tech rmats are super hard to get. But once you give it a day for the rush to die down they are easy to get again. I agree with you that some clans out their hoard way to many resources and don't know when to release them to the public. I've seen containers and containers full of components that don't get used unfortunately. Like others have said it's sometimes just best to join a clan right away when you start to learn the game and that way you have access to basically everything without having to fight other people for it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this! Appreciate it!
RUclipsman bad. Now seriously... it's the broken window theory. There's toxicity yes, but the biggest issue is not the toxicity itself but the fact that it goes unpunished, so victims either quit the game or become toxic themselves. It used to be that the large coalitions of players (and clans) were the actual enforcers of civility within this game, not the moderators (which were really few and some... well... you know what they say, power corrupts people). At some point they started caring more about winning the war that about keeping the game civil and free of cheaters, and this is where it led us.
lol! RUclipsMan is always bad. Very true! I've never heard that theory before. I know we all want to win the wars for our factions but we really need to make sure we aren't doing it at the cost of giving new players a bad experience. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this! Appreciate it!
great video, bought the game around a year ago (only had 20 hrs played ) but haven't played it since getting banned for moving supplies from the back line as 3 people from a clan convinced others that I "stole their truck". I earned that truck as I took the time to get it. Tried to defend (spent around 20/30 mins) myself but to no avail. Guess once the accusation starts, it ends up with a mass report. Left a sour taste in my mouth to be honest. I don't think I'll get back into the game for a while. I still get a sour taste in my mouth when I am tempted to play it. Glad to see other players experiencing the best that the game has to offer. Apologies for any mistakes, English is not my first language and I am trying to improve it.
Thank you! Sorry to hear that happened to you! Sounds so crappy! And rightfully so you have a bad taste in your mouth towards this game. If you ever get back into the game feel free to DM on discord and I can try and set you up with some more positive people to play with!
I played for the first time today, and from what I can tell when you move slowly in a vehicle it doesn't splatter people. I therefore assumed when going along a road I didn't have to worry about the squad moving up...
There is one "funny" story of mine back from War 109, my first war... I and my friends just started out playing the game, mostly played together in the Linn of Mercy front on the Warden side... i set up a very small faci to allow me to make 150mm shells when the others wanted to arty (before anyone start panicking about newbies with arty, we very rarely hit our lines, we always looked up how something is supposed to be done before doing something). When the collies managed to achieve their "day 1 objective" all of a sudden i had 4 pallet of 150mm pallet to evac and 2 150mm mm arty piece... i tried to pull stuff from our small faci in Moors back all the way to Howl temporarily... issue was, while doing this i ran into a small problem: there were exactly zero public vehicles available in Howl seaport, so i tried to find an abandoned one... while doing so i got yelled at from left right and center to "get out of the way" and "bugger of, im doing important logi here!". I didnt knew at the time to i could just redeploy mind you or i could store away the 150mm arty pieces in the seaport or about reserve stockpiles, so i literally tried to keep everything on squad locked flatbed trucks. Looking back, it was incredibly stupid on my part, but what does that say about basically half of Howl then... The players at that hex were INCREDIBLY hostile towards anyone who was not a vet., and honestly, i never ever experienced ANYTHING like this in Brodytown, Reaching Trail(where i did 90% of my scrooping and supply making). Fortunately i was not banned or anything like that (i guess one of the benefits of doing logi mostly as a new player is by that point i was already OCdt, so i guess a lot of ppl. didnt instant reported me i guess assoonas someone cried "alt"). By the start of this war (War 110) i learned almost everything, but when i started making my own ACTUAL faci which was more than an ammo factory for shells i got a taste for why everyone was so paranoid... my train got stolen, 2 random cpt came in and "suited themselves" with my hard scrooping materials to upgrade their tank in front of me etc. etc., but istill honestly dont get why take that frustration out on ppl. completly unrelated to any of faci related stuff still. But maybe the funniest bits (which happened in this war) was when i got yelled by a large clan for going in the exact oposite direction they wanted with their train on the same track (while i announced my heading in both logi and region chat, unlike them), and its happening on the tracks i built. I honestly often got the impression during war 110 to the few large clans think theyare the only ones playing the game and everyone else is supposed to fit into THEIR game. Not just to play it the correct way, but play it as THEY want you to play as. And the sad part is, those exact same clans are also pretty chill and easy to get along when they dont do something "important" (from their perspective, that is), but as soon as they do something "important" they are by faaaaar the most toxic group i ever encountered (and by the record, i played many online MMO's, toxicity is nothing new to me, so to be on the top of it is quiet something).
I wouldn't say that was stupid on your part. Was just something you didn't know about the game. And I am surprised people in the backline were that upset with you. I've had so many good interaction with people in the backline. Maybe it's my vet rank? Good on you for not getting frustrated when this kind of "alt" or "new" player behavior stuff happens to you. That takes a lot of patience and maturity. Good on you. Well sounds like they were the idiots in the train situation ha. What a silly thing to get upset over ha. Thanks for sharing these experiences! Appreciate it!
I found that the further I got from the front, the less friendly people became. To the point I was killed without reason several times while standing around looking at the map. Wasnt on a road, wasnt blocking a doorway, didnt afk in front of a factory.
I have found that as well. Frontline people are stressed out a lot more than backline people. Just avoid nasty frontline people and do whatever you want on the front and have fun. That's what I found works best.
@@RobertLovesGames No no, the opposite of that. I find a lot of friendly people at the front lines, but back lines people either ignore me or are rude. For Warden anyways.
I remember when few years ago I was new, war was like in the mid stage so i got on the back line and start do so learning about resources, logi etc. I go to some scrap node with my own truck, mine, get back to base, make few things in factory and put it in the base storage. After few rounds of this some guy start screaming at me at resources nod and in few minutes i got ban. Touch this game again few day ago thanks to yours videos.
Dang sorry to hear that happened to you :/ I'm trying to help create a more overall positive atmosphere in this game so this does not happen to players again. Glad I could help you get back into Foxhole!
@RobertLovesGames Keep the good work then. After few o you video's when you help the new guys i was Like, I'll give IT a shot just stay way from complicated things Like building base etc. Just being frontline soldier/medic by day and a little builders helper by night. Hope to see you on frontline!
@@RobertLovesGames Right now the Saltbrook Seaport is experiencing a pretty debilitating bug. A majority of the private stockpiles are bugged, causing anyone who has access to be unable to access anything in the seaport. Although some play still have access this is effecting maybe 75% of the playersbase. Majoir groups like FMAT and the AEsir coalition have been almost completely locked out. If you want to talk more about it let me know.
Well the point of this video is not every player is like that. There are a lot of nice players that will help you learn the game so you can do what you want. As I mentioned in the video it is sort of like a Minecraft or Rust. You can't really just join a server and start taking out other peoples buildings or taking their stuff that they spent time gathering and crafting for. But if are worried that you can just run free in the game and do as you please then this game is probably not for you. This is a team game. You join a faction and your goal should be to help your faction.
I’m fairly new to foxhole and I’d say every experience I’ve had so far in foxhole was cool as hell. I remember one time a clan was about to get ready to destroy some towers and they decided to let a few randoms (including me) to join them. We destroyed a good number of towers before the enemy starting to come flocking in on us. We got into a firefight and eventually I was the last left. I’d say I made a heroic last stand but I kinda just sat in the vehicle before promptly being forced to leave the vehicle and executed.
their should be a training shard where the noobs of both teams could learn to fight and build that is about1-3 hexes big center for fighting with uncontestable space for a few vets to test BB construction methods without pressure that gets wiped weekly to reduce memory issues going there would be less embarrassing than the training zone currently is
I started playing foxhole last war and I can check off every item you listed about new players (except the banning part). I was blamed and reported for TKing a teammember who was stuck in a building and thus asked me to shoot him. Another occasion I was accused of suspicious behaviour when I was wandering around the map trying to understand logi. On the frontlines it is quite common to be yelled at for small mistakes. Of course in the heat of battle people get emotional, I very much get that. But I would definitely say that the amount of salty comments to new players is quite high in Foxhole compared to other online games. This however didn't stop me from playing Foxhole for 100 hours already. It is an awesome game with an awesome community. But still, how good the intentions of the majority may be, I feel that a salty minority do not leave enough room for new players to make mistakes and learn. In my opinion this is partly a community issue, party a development issue (tutorials are certainly outdated). For now: why not mark a region as "logi training"? Vet players could hang around if they like to teach and new players can learn and still contribute to the war effort.
Welcome to Foxhole! Oh no! All the bad things did happen to you! I'm glad you made it through all that and are still playing! Some players just quit unfortunately! I agree that "vet" players definitely push newer players away a lot more in Foxhole with how aggressive they are. I would love something like that! There are regi/clans that dedicate time to teaching new players which is awesome. I mentioned this in another comment but I would love to see a list of like "mentors" in game where it was a list of trusted players and you can see when they are online and message them for questions or something like that. This is a good testimony for new players to hear. So thank you for sharing this! Let me know if you ever have any questions about Foxhole!
the way I was able to bounce back from a few bad new player chew outs was hear people thank me for giving them my spare fuel after they ran out really sad that fuel lasts longer
A lot of clans have good training boot camps they host for new players. But something more organized would be awesome. I am building a network of mentors in my discord to help new players and hoping I can get that to grow more here soon.
When i played this game i was afraid of the report system so i just keep myself on the front with rifle and anything else, just constantly dying to the meat grinder or be a medic. I didn't took anything and stayed away from every vehicle or even weapons. I left the game because i downloaded it in first place because i wanted to do logi, but my mind went to every thing is occupied and even if i build something some clan could just report me or destroy what i build. So i just refrain to do it Btw i was more paranoic because even when i understand and i can talk english, im not fluent enough
I'm sorry to hear that! Come back and do logi! I or someone else would be happy to show you around! Your english sounds good to me. Even if you can only type in game. Or you can find logi group that speaks your language!
Foxhole NEEDS CLANS like FMAT! I just recently joined this AMAZING group! What is FMAT you ask? FMAT teaches all new players, everything that is made is PUBLIC ACCESS. Our whole PURPOSE is to make public infrastructure and materials for players no matter who you are. There’s no toxicity in this group (from what I’ve seen) and everyone is willing to help any player no matter how new they are! BE A KINDER foxhole player! BE like FMAT
@@printaboy from a quick search i did, FMAT is Warden another good Warden clan is 6th SWARM, they are pretty chill and are willing to help new people and will train you on anything regardless of how new you are, on my 2nd day of being apart of the clan, they were doing a small naval op on a frigate, i asked to join and they took me. most clans, operate this way, im sure even on the colonial side, simply because, if they didn't they wouldn't be an active clan, because people would just leave for a better one. most people in this game seem to understand that it is very team focused and that you cannot really accomplish anything by yourself. mid-late game tanks require 3-5 people to operate them at their best. ships require even more. Artillery requires ammo makers, ammo runners, gun loaders, aimers, and spotters to be effective. the only effective thing a solo player can go do is be another body on the front, run random logi stuff so support others, or be a partisan in the enemy back lines to either be disruptive or do damage to infrastructure if they can.
Ive watched some of your videos time to time and as a foxhole vet (not rank wise, time Ive had the game) I wholeheartly agree with these issues layed out. From what Ive seen lately is that the reporting problem as a whole has calmed down unless you want to build a facility. In which case, you are better joining a clan and slapping signs saying this is the property of this clan. Usually it deters the other clans away from it. Now I do believe the Wardens have more of a problem when it comes to mass reporting new players due to certain Warden clans. Collies in my opinion are a lot nicer to new players if you ask around generally anywhere on the frontline. The backline players can be a bit more stingy but ask them anyways for help, they won't get mad to the point they will mass report you. I am apart of NEP (takin a short break) and everytime I see a new player on our frontline/backline. I will take the 5-10 minutes of my day to explain what they want to do and how to do it. These players make up most of the random conflicts and battles that happen on the frontline, they are truly needed. That's also where people that are incredibly egotiscal begin to have problems with new players. A lot of people think only clans are needed, but if you remove all the clanless. It is gonna be a one sided war 10/10 times. They are fundamentally required in the current state of the game. (Frontline that is, backline is usually made up of major clans and they got their own system set up. Now with that out of the way
I agree that the false reporting has calmed down a bit but it still needs to go down another notch or two from some vets. And yes people paranoid with their facilities is still very high. Maybe we need some more in game tools to bring that down as well. As someone who has played on both factions quite a bit I honestly would say it's about the same in terms of people that false report and players that think alts are running around. NEP NEP NEP!!! Thanks for helping new players on the front that is really nice of you! And yea I agree that clans are necessary. Some players just don't understand that and for some reason really hate clans. They probably had a bad experience with clans when they started out. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this!
@@RobertLovesGames Is that so? I havn't touched Wardens for about 2 or so years and back then it was incredibly toxic. My bad, I probably shouldn't be using my experiences from 2 years ago as a way to tell other people information nowadays. Also W for replying quickly, I hope your channel gains more popularity within the community and out of it.
@@Izumiuo I switch factions about every 10 or so wars and they both seem about the same to me. I mainly play logi so normally everyone is pretty positive around me. No worries! Glad you are sharing your experience the context that it was 2 years ago is helpful to know! Thanks for the kind words and your support!
It’s been a few years since I played in any consistent manner but I remember almost everyone being friendly and helping new players any way they could for the most part. Although I do remember that sometimes people would harass anyone without a rank, because of this I would always commend any no-ranker to be at least a private. I would also help out any new medics the best I could since I was usually the most experienced medic in my areas of the front. If this issue is as rampant as the steam reviews suggest then that absolutely sucks and it needs to be fixed as soon as possible.
6months into release of the game their were Regs entirely focused about teaching the game up intill last reg quit when flamethrowers were introduced. You now have 0 people in spawnhub actually teaching people. That what I think went down hill for Foxhole the lack of mentors in community driven by mafia type team work is not the best environment from my view.
Yea you don't see a lot of those "mentors" around unless a big update comes out. We need more of them or a program for them created by the devs. Or maybe we as a community could build one ourselves.
If the "vets" would take the time to be considerate every time they call for a voteban for somebody who offends them, they would have to come to the conclusion that there is no actual grounds for letting out their frustration on said person, in most cases... so they don't take the time. A member of my regi got votebanned for setting up a "larping" facility at a frontline... we just wanted to provide fuel for tanks right at the front because they were literally running dry. Some angry kids who were part of a big clan came by and accused us of taking up logi reserved slots, wasting resources, etc, etc. None of us were lower rank than Lt. at that point. There was literally no legit reason for said ban at all. Yet everybody joined in on them and got our friend banned. The ban was revoked a few days later by the devs, but none of us felt like playing anymore after that.
Yea the vets can be very inpatient. Which is surprising a bit to me because this game takes so much patience to play. I could see vets getting made if the facility was in key defensive position. Lot of people don't like factories at the frontlines. But it still never warrents getting banned over. Sorry to hear that happened to you and your friend! I can understand why you wouldn't want to play any more. Thanks for sharing your experience with this! It's good to know this information!
Great question! If a clan chooses to mass report a player the devs will find out and will find out who is coordinating the false report and that player can be perma banned. We know for fact it has happened to a few leaders in clans in the past. To get yourself in this situation is really difficult honestly. If you find out it's happening to you make sure you record or take screenshots so you can send those in with the report. If you have any other questions let me know! Feel free to DM me on discord!
I can speak from experience about being friendly and helping people is the best way to go I remember fondly in my first war I wanted to help make tanks and stuff so I wandered into a facility in Kalokai and tried interacting with some garages and looking at materials and this dude walked up and was like oh hey what's up what are you doing, I explained I wanted to help and such and he said it's all pretty complicated and I should go kill wardens for him to help him out, now here I am sitting my friends down and teaching them how to make facilities to make their own tanks :D
Thanks for sharing this awesome experience! Being positive and friendly makes the game more enjoyable and you encounter less toxic situations overall. Thanks for sharing this! Appreciate it!
when I was a noob I saw a mine in the road if friendly and just as I was about to disarm it when a tank drove over it. I got blamed for laying the mine. in rage at the insult I barely manage to type "it wasn't mine" they insult me for trying to claim it wasn't A mine.(and reported me)
Had the game on my account for quite a long, but just recently got into it. The last war was my first and I joined the collies 4 hours before they lost. Asked if I should wait for the next war to start learning the game, some awesome dudes said nah, join us for the last tankette push of this war, gave me a gunner position and dragged me along. Got to see places, shoot people, had fun. Of course, I killed a teammate or two at first because I didn't understand at first how aiming works, do I have to aim at the person I'm shooting or behind and that kind of stuff. Will definitely give the game another shot the next war
I remember a story like that fits to this it is two or three wars old, so we as a clan had a factory, because of alts and people taking stuff we had a police of butting up shields where some like please ask use before using our factory stands on. We are normally tried to find a way to make stuff happen if you ask us. So now to the story I was not at the factory, as this happened in got told that told the story from our side. It was like they found some one, we call him x, x was doing stuff in the factory ask him what x was doing and if they could help him(x). But they couldn’t see his name because x had a weird steam name. X did not answer so and did take stuff at our factory so he got TK and reported. Now comes the interesting part X than went to the official Foxhole Discord and stated renting about how this was unfair and that he only wanted to upgrade his truck. X than got told by another person, not our clan that, he was dumbing stuff and he saw everything. Than the people in discord tried to help find out the truth, x couldn’t remember the place and gave the wrong one, our the person who saw all than said where it happened and x said that this was not the place and it looked completely different, most of the people at this time did not believe x anymore because he changed his story he told in discord so many times already. Then x told that he had 20 alts and he would just take one of the others and get his truck back. It slowed down after that. Somebody said after that that he checked all and that x took only 2mg and gave around 300 bmats. It was funny to read in discord and until today I am not really sure what happened, but he changed his story so often that I don’t really believe him.
Yea that is the tough part. Who do you believe. How do you find out all the facts? Maybe the devs need to implement a camera system in facilities or something lol. I know the logs help and everything but maybe we still need a bit more. Thanks for sharing your experience with this. It's important to hear these kind of stories because trying to find out who the victim is can be really hard at times without the full stories from both stides.
I got banned for like 12 or 24 hours from a mass report for building a trench some clan member didn’t like. Edit: I quit the game for months after this and eventually came back. I definitely left a negative review and made a seigecamp ticket and got that general email the next day saying I could play again. Didn’t help me at the time though because I play games like once a week, so banning me for a day is like banning me for a week. Needless to say I was salty and didn’t return for several months. And even now I’m distrustful of the population. I’m a casual player that does mostly solo but some regiment events.
Dang sorry that happened to you :/ hate people like that in Foxhole. I'm glad you came back though! And thank you for sharing your experience with this. It really helps new players understand that yes this is an issue but it has gotten better.
Theres a lot of good tutorials by Freerk Holtes about Foxhole. There should be a link somewhere that recommends watching the videos before jumping right into foxhole.
Agreed dude, the social dynamics of the game are never explained until you get into game and either meet a nice person or a shitty one. When I first started playing I was running around a backline region with no rank looking sus asf and a player driving by helped me out and explained how what I was doing could be seen as sus and took me to the front, ranked me up and showed me some basics. Without that interaction idk if I would have kept up with the game. The first couple hours of your foxhole experience is make or break.
Witch-huntinting killed many times more organisations than witches themselves. Never had any problems with mass reporting but i can see where reviews come from. Just a few days ago i suggested a quick plan to a big clan on a frontline. Said plan included the use of barges and certain equipment in the inventory. Clan organised very fast, and in minutes we were ready. Except we couldn't move because one "random" player jumped on a barge exceeding its transport limit (6 people). Since inter-regiment comms become quite hectic, instead of spending a lot of time to explain the situation, clanman just killed the guy. Were they wrong? Probably, but the guy retaliated, team killing multiple clanman. Clanman then mass reported the guy.
Yea those situations are tough. Egos get in the way a lot in this game and cause situations like this. If people just let it go and moved on this wouldn't happen. Thanks for sharing that story. These are important stories to hear.
Recording software and clipping the events like people purposely friendly fire is a overall smart way to get rid of people. Depends on other situation, I do love to help new players and make sure they understand the basics. If they purposely are trolls, I simply make a map post with evidence and let people know what occuring. I'm always honest with my teammates even when asking for vehicles and intend to use for, etc.
I would think so. I think recording anyone causing any harm is a great idea. Sounds like you know how to play the game and take care of trolls! Good on you! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this!
Unfortunately, nobody at siege camp is looking at these clips that are being submitted. I have clips of blatant team killing, use of all sorts of slurs, obvious alting, and only ever get the "a player you reported had an action taken against them" is when someone's being racist in world chat.
Yeah, I first bought the game about a year ago. I found a base next to a scrap field and spent many hours just filling the bases resource transfer station with scrap using their vehicles. Then I got banned for stealing their vehicles. Gave up on the game entirely and only came back a couple days ago to give it a second shot
Oof! Sorry that happened to you :/ I would suggest finding a clan to play with for while or just letting people know that you are new. That normally helps people be less paranoid about what your intentions are. Let me know if you need help with anything! DM me on discord any time!
Your descriptions of the paranoid older players are very accurate I was trying to bring my fuel truck down to a beach and refuel my barge and someone else had broken in and locked it and wasn’t there so I unlocked my barge but just as I was finishing this guy pulls up and starts yelling at me that I was tryna steal the barge or something and he wouldn’t believe that it was mine because I was too new or Smth so then he just lit me up even after I started running away but honestly I have had some great interactions with older players too so it’s a mixed bag my tip for new players like me is to honestly just run away if a better player starts being a douche and don’t let it ruin the fun oh and I should prolly mention me and that older player worked it out and he fixed my truck and stuff and he ended up just being scared and tired have having collie players stealing all the boats on the coast
Lock out " similar to weapon lock out 20min" what there should be instead of only banning we can lock out a players abiliy to do something and give them the reason example i steal someone vic like a tank they report me then i cant take or use that kind of vic i get a small side window tutorial stating the reason "you stole a players vic and got reported for it, every thing in this game is made by a player please understand that unless you made it ask if its ok to take. communication is key in this game." this can be done for new players for clear alts you still have the option of being kicked out of the game by players that banned you Zone message popup + when it comes to player made facilitys there should be area claim were as soon are you go into the zone there are popup message example messages like: "dont take vic or you will be shot" " this facility is for clan members and friends only... " abit like when you enter a new zone you get a notification about it. the messages will stating it will be semi locked into your screen unless your part of the clan or seen it for a while or click yes i understand on the message it will be auto translated for each language Highlighting when hovering over something states message + there should be high light marker that should state on the vic if i hover over it and its claimed by a clan it should state "private dont take" or "public free to use" each player can place it on there vic and leave a small message for other players to be aware this message gets specialy in faciliys or in private parking lots over all warning is key
I like that pop up idea explaining what the player did wrong. These types of things need to be in home region some place as well. That would be really cool if the communication was set up that way. We basically have to use signs for that kind of stuff right now. Foxhole does need a bit of a quality of life update for communication tools I think. I just want a quality of life update overall ha. No more vehicles for while besides the new ships that are coming out. I agree about having warnings in game is key. Especially with so many of them right now being unwritten rules. Thanks for sharing your ideas and thoughts on this!
i think the game needs a better tutorial and a in game community message/bulletin board that can have posts that are categorized and upvoted by the community that stays between wars. could have a new player section that has tips and common etiquette. Another good video! good job!
As an Ocdt frontline player, I always try to encourage new players to not be scared of dying and the focus on fun. But important stuff like arty teams I'll try to explain why they shouldn't interact with it unless they are invited to join in.
This is great advice! I wish I knew that when I first started. I was so nervous on the frontline. Good call with the arty team. I always tell new players just ask others "do you need help with something?" and most vet players can normally use help and put a new player to work. Thanks for your thoughts on this!
I did the mine thing where i placed mines with friendly tanks nearby. I got chewed out for it. I assumed since my logi truck wasn't trigging the friendly mines that tanks wouldnt have that problem either.
I was in the Krieg regiment, the big one. And that Avitus guy just banned me from the reg just because I was 'a noob' even tho my idea on the strategy at hand was better than his. Even in regiment the game is not that fun to be franck. I liked it more when people used to be togather and play as a team on each front rather than coordinating on discords.
Dang that stinks :/ does not sound like good leadership. I agree that I would much rather coordinate in game than in a discord. Devs need to keep giving us good communication tools to do that. Thanks for your thoughts on this!
Here's a mind blowing suggestion. You will all want to sit down for this one. What if Seige Camp... made an actual proper tutorial for their SEVEN year old game?! 1.0 ready, right guys? For one and a half fucking years now apparently!
during the smaal locomotive area of foxhole where we had the game bug that made them fast pull items from stockpiles etc etc. at the time i was around capt / lt rank. i just rejoined from a long break had no clue what this random ass locomotive was doing here. but what i did know: this thing is blocking stockpile i beter remove this thing. starts chuging mamons at it. 3 guys walk up insta shoot me. one of them picked me up and asked me in a friendly(ish) way what i was doing. the others where shouting alt alt alt. got explained that there was a bug atm with the locomotives. we repaird it togethere and there was a happy ending. yay.
Star Wars Galaxies was another MMO with a player run economy, it had a system where every item and vehicle crafted had a serial number and the name of the crafter in the detail window. Simply checking the crafter's name could settle disputes about stolen items or vehicles, and tracking a serial number might give a history of what player's hands the item/vehicle had passed between. As an aside, Foxhole's war system is more or less what I always wished a game like Star Wars Galaxies had (though with Battlefront 2 2005 style pvp since I prefer the FPS/3PS gameplay and flight model SWBF2005 had) Preferably with some sort of space to ground mechanic and some of the elements of the Galactic Contention mod for Squad. Not only that but because it's a full mmorpg with tons of content outside of the war, you could have the wars be like seasons in a sporting league. Whoever wins gets to rule/liberate the galaxy for a while until the next one and might get medals etc that they keep forever, along with PVE bonuses that last to the next war.
Star Wars Galaxies is my all time favorite MMO pre CU! It had the best crafting and economy in a game I have ever seen. Loved how every item you crafted came out different and you eventually had to get new ones. Casual players would hate that now days unfortunately. I would be down for crafters name in Foxhole. Would help solve a lot of drama. They can do it with last driver shouldn't be to hard with crafting as well. I actually had the idea long time ago that names should be on guns and ammo as well in Foxhole. Think it would be cool to know who crafted the item you are using. Some type of game like Foxhole or Planetside but Star Wars would be amazing! Thanks for helping me take a trip down memory lane! Miss SWG. And thanks for your input on this! Cheers!
@@RobertLovesGames indeed, watching the naval gameplay and imagining what that would be like in a similar vein to Battlefront 2 classic's space maps (or better yet, the modded ones that merge space and ground) Crews on the capital ships firing batteries of turrets at each other while the fighters duke it and try to get shuttles, landing craft and dropships onto the surface. A great deal could be learned from Foxhole pioneering what I think Combined Arms shooters like Battlefield and Battlefront should be. Global, persistent campaigns.
I can truly say that Foxhole has, on the whole, one of the best communities of any team-based multiplayer game that I've played in recent memory. If you ask for help, you will receive it. Old players love teaching new players (partly because new players have no preconceived notions about what to do, so they're down for whatever) because having another well-informed, invested player on your team only increases your chance of success 😐7
I remember war 101ish. I had a balista that i wanted to turn into an IST, and i asked if they knew where a pad was, and i didn't get a response. i got a gun put to my head. Always fun
I started playing Foxhole again recently after a year long break due to life. I used to play with a mic but I didn't have a working one, no clan because I got kicked from my old one for inactivity, and I was trying to relearn the aiming and how to do certain actions. I team killed a few people accidently too. I don't know what it was, I guess to other players I looked or acted like an alt or troll? But I logged on the other day to find a warning message about being reported. No ban as of yet but clearly there are people who will report you just for being bad at the game. I was a returning player who at least knew the grounds works, I can't imagine how new players who know nothing, especially those without mics, get treated if this is my result.
Welcome back! And dang that stinks to hear. Some people in this game are way to paranoid about alts honestly. Unfortunately for new players it all depends on who they run into first. I think we are starting to build a better in game culture with more people helping new players and not just assuming they are alts. Something we should all continue to work on. Thanks for sharing your experience with this!
I rarely had any problems as a new player, but that's because I research games before I buy them. I already knew how to somewhat play when I joined and I actually did do the tutorial.
its my face
That is the face I found for you on google! lol.

Foxhole needs a tutorial, with some advice and a short list of things to be discouraged
Someone mentioned they should have community post/bulletin board in home region with this kind of info which would be cool!
Foxhole needs to get rid of clans and just make everyone solo players that co-operate witch each other instead.
They have a tutorial. I played it all. Didn't mention ANYTHING about the social aspects of the game.
They do have a CM, and is as bad at it gets with the cm and their reddit/discord circlejerk with all the shitty drama
Da lord al mighty pilps!
Bow to the total war God!
Sorry that happened to you though :/
And yea sometimes the other war in this game is with inner faction clan battles. I like that you all tried to meet halfway with them that was really nice of you!
Hope you all are having better with 27th! They are a great group!
Thanks for sharing your experience with this!
NFML
Youre nice, people are nice to you too
@@N0d4chi Completely agree with this. Very well said.
When saying I'm new people from logi don't even answer me lol. Depressing sometimes
@@venum4k I love this! What regi is it?

Hmm
I kinda love their enthusiasm and I’m just happy to have someone who is actually interested in being social
Just wondering, was it a Colonial or Warden who said kys?
@@FantasticMrJake warden's
sometimes resources get burnt fast they probably had a reasonable amount of ammo before everybody started reloading rifles can be nearly immoral if you have bring loot back to base
If you are a new or returning player, ask your fellow players if you need help with any of the following: (a bulleted list of game aspects like creating items, logistics, building, medicing, and on and on)"
The community is already largely willing to accept new players, it often just takes a question ✋😔🤚

YOOOO. What's why "community in it are awful"
Hard to say, play 5k hours in foxhole - that's wild and cool
Regiment job position: Facility Security Personnel 😂😅
In my 600 hours of playing foxhole I can count on 1 hand the amount of toxic interactions I have had in foxhole.
I can count on one finger!
Thats not a lot, basically like any other online game
Sorry that happened to you :/
Thanks for sharing your experience and stories with this issue.
Yeah you make things public, that means it's for the taking. If you want only certain people to have certain things, you'll have to micromanage.
Reminds me of old PlanetSide 1 gaming days of trading jackhammers for lashers 😂
Ahhh gotcha. I had never thought of that or heard of that.
@@RobertLovesGames Yes, because if they have no rank no one will trust them, but if they have an actual rank then people are more likely to trust them if they're going to alt. So it stands to reason that if you see a person with no regiment tag, you might question them a little bit. Not to say that's the case with everyone that has a rank but no tag.
damn that kronus pic looks like a mugshot lmao
lol I love it! Pretty sure it's the only picture that shows up of him when you google him.
Man, I feel bad for those new players who happened to cross paths with those sweaty vets
@@eTheBlackDoesn't matter they don't have the right to lash out at random people
@@bobobobob2 or what? Who cares. Just mute and move on. If you cant handle that, then online games arent for you. Welcome to internet.
@eTheBlack Bro what 💀 I dont care if they're mean thats not the problem, the problem is that you get banned.
Thid video really helped, I've read a bunch of negative reviews that said things about toxicity and didn't know if I should buy it.
Glad it helped! There are a lot more nice people than toxic people.
Feel free to DM me in discord with any questions if you end up getting Foxhole!
If you ever do decide to get the game hit me up on Discord and I will see if I can help you get the lay of the land :D
Thanks for your support!
@@RobertLovesGames no worries mate and cheers, I'll keep that in mind if I ever pick it up. Definately into the logistician gameplay.
Everyone is an alt! Except for me 😎
CB is the only person in Foxhole that can be trusted. Everyone make sure to hand over all your goods to him if you see him on the battlefield.
He will single handedly win you the front!
@@RobertLovesGames win it for the other side 😅
90% of my teamkills are idiots playing in the road or people who got their toes stuck in the dirt and need the old yeller treatment to get them out
Went through tutorial area, spawned onto the front, walked behind a tank to pick up an injured player when a tank crew started yelling at me, dismounted and tk me for" Walking behind the tanks". Came back told them I was new and didn't know that was a thing so they killed me again, told me they would report me if I came back so i quit.
Unfortunately this situation does happen. Sorry to hear that :/
If you ever come back to the game I would be happy to help you learn and help you find more positive people to play with.
That’s great to hear!
if i was trying to help a guy and got chewed out because some other guy had a tank in the vicinity I would just sticky the tank
I joined 3 days ago and have had so much fun, come across some lovely people and everyone have been very welcoming in all aspects
Welcome to Foxhole! And that’s great to hear! Thanks for sharing your experience!
@@RobertLovesGames thanks man, hope to see u out there
Yea! Say hi if you see me :D
I remember that within my first hours of playing that I
A. Accidentally stole a truck full of R mats
B. Nearly stole a train from the same clan as it was full and I believed it needed transport to the front
C. Killed a guy and his team in a colonial tank as I thought they were some sort of spy class.
Fun times.
LOL! Sound like an alt to me ha
Glad you didn't get banned.
Cheers!

They tried this and community mods got to corrupt and power hungry ha
I actually really considered buying and playing foxhole but the reviews save me from it, it’s not just a couple they’re a ton of negative reviews and toxic to new players is always good to avoid. Especially since it’s a team driven game if you can’t get by in a positive community your motivation will dwindle quickly
Makes sense and I agree. Unfortunately some new players run into the negative players first in game instead of the super helpful nice positive ones.
I get why people wouldn't want to play this game because of that. Hope the devs can figure something out to fix that some day.
Thanks for your thoughts on this!
I think the community is mostly ok but it is a true multiplayer game not a simultaneous single player game your decisions will matter to the guy next to you but for the most part we are all trying to win the same war I mostly play solo and the clans haven't really bothered me because I know how to get my own truck and know most of the other minor rules the main internal team competition I usually have is raceing people to get Rmats for the cool loot. when I started the game I was a petty thief because its hard to learn the entire economy immediately and in order to start you need a truck so I would unlock locked vehicles in town and use them to start getting goods flowing to the front most were probably just abandoned but a rare few were hidden loot boxes(which I would then relock in my own name because I couldn't unbreak the lock) I did more help than hurt but I was definitely inconveniencing people early on
I just started so far. It's been awesome crazy that it's one big war that last a month that blows my mind

They do! If you need help finding the right clan for you let me know! DM me on Discord!
discord.gg/YhuHdUedvK
so there are more problems as a non clan affiliated person, clans will also tend to claim a are and resouces especially component spawn areas making it nigh impossible to make anything above basic supplies and clans also tend to hoard materials that could very well mean the difference between success or failure in a nearby battle.
Hope to see you on frontline!
can't wait to see your video on the Saltbrook seaport bug
Oh no what happened? Ha
@@strangeman7577 oh wow I have not heard of this yet! Thanks for sharing! I will look more into this!
Why would i invest in a game if i can't play it when i want because i can get banned by the hardcore players.
That's awesome to hear! I love to hear these stories. Thanks for sharing that!
I'll be jumping into foxhole today and keeping this in mind, I personally just really wanna learn how to logi good!
That's awesome! Feel free to join my discord and DM me any questions you have or if you need help learning something!
their should be a training shard where the noobs of both teams could learn to fight and build that is about1-3 hexes big center for fighting with uncontestable space for a few vets to test BB construction methods without pressure that gets wiped weekly to reduce memory issues going there would be less embarrassing than the training zone currently is
I would love that!
You’d think there’d be a group dedicated to training new players. Setup a place behind the front lines as a boot camp.
So i just refrain to do it
Btw i was more paranoic because even when i understand and i can talk english, im not fluent enough
Hey, wanna start playing foxhole casually (because of time restraints). Is FMAT warden or colonial clan?
@@printaboy from a quick search i did, FMAT is Warden
another good Warden clan is 6th SWARM, they are pretty chill and are willing to help new people and will train you on anything regardless of how new you are, on my 2nd day of being apart of the clan, they were doing a small naval op on a frigate, i asked to join and they took me.
most clans, operate this way, im sure even on the colonial side, simply because, if they didn't they wouldn't be an active clan, because people would just leave for a better one.
most people in this game seem to understand that it is very team focused and that you cannot really accomplish anything by yourself.
mid-late game tanks require 3-5 people to operate them at their best. ships require even more.
You can't get in any vehicle or build anything you want in Squad. Most servers have rules to ensure resources are used effectively.
True. Some squads are better than others at keeping other players out.
Toxicity is actually a symptom of the problem, not the actual problem.
You are probably right.
Don’t steal tanks is the do not dig straight down of Foxhole
Ha!
My question is:
How are clans etc punished if it is revealed they reported without reason etc.
If the answer is, they are not punished.
@@RobertLovesGames Thanks for the quick answer!
May we meet in battle next! :P
Love the new mic rob, beautiful quality
Glad it sounds good! Not a new mic yet just just changed some settings around.
Glad it sounds good though thanks for the feedback!
when I was a noob I saw a mine in the road if friendly and just as I was about to disarm it when a tank drove over it.
I got blamed for laying the mine.
in rage at the insult I barely manage to type "it wasn't mine"
they insult me for trying to claim it wasn't A mine.(and reported me)
Sorry to hear that :/ that stinks!
Agreed! I like that they put his videos on the main menu but they need them some place in game as well.
Don’t play foxhole , it’s bad for your health.
The addiction at the start is real once you are hooked.
I wanted to buy it but if you say so
Yeah, I first bought the game about a year ago. I found a base next to a scrap field and spent many hours just filling the bases resource transfer station with scrap using their vehicles. Then I got banned for stealing their vehicles. Gave up on the game entirely and only came back a couple days ago to give it a second shot
Oof! Sorry that happened to you :/
I would suggest finding a clan to play with for while or just letting people know that you are new.
Lock out " similar to weapon lock out 20min"
what there should be instead of only banning we can lock out a players abiliy to do something and give them the reason example i steal someone vic like a tank they report me then i cant take or use that kind of vic i get a small side window tutorial stating the reason
"you stole a players vic and got reported for it, every thing in this game is made by a player please understand that unless you made it ask if its ok to take. communication is key in this game."
this can be done for new players for clear alts you still have the option of being kicked out of the game by players that banned you
Zone message popup
+ when it comes to player made facilitys there should be area claim were as soon are you go into the zone there are popup message example messages like:
"dont take vic or you will be shot"
" this facility is for clan members and friends only... "
abit like when you enter a new zone you get a notification about it. the messages will stating it will be semi locked into your screen unless your part of the clan or seen it for a while or click yes i understand on the message it will be auto translated for each language
Highlighting when hovering over something states message
+ there should be high light marker that should state on the vic if i hover over it and its claimed by a clan it should state "private dont take" or "public free to use" each player can place it on there vic and leave a small message for other players to be aware this message gets specialy in faciliys or in private parking lots
over all warning is key
Another good video! good job!
Agreed! Community message bulletin board would be amazing! I would love something like that! Great idea!
Thanks for the kind words!
Great video, dude; awesome explanations.
Thank you!!
I did the mine thing where i placed mines with friendly tanks nearby. I got chewed out for it.
I assumed since my logi truck wasn't trigging the friendly mines that tanks wouldnt have that problem either.
Happens to a lot of new players unfortunately ha
@@RobertLovesGames ya even if the developers had tips on the loading screen with these factoids. It would be a help.
LOL! Imagine a world where Foxhole has a great tutorial. We would actually need more shards for this game for once.
during the smaal locomotive area of foxhole where we had the game bug that made them fast pull items from stockpiles etc etc.
at the time i was around capt / lt rank.
i just rejoined from a long break had no clue what this random ass locomotive was doing here.
but what i did know: this thing is blocking stockpile i beter remove this thing.
starts chuging mamons at it.
Agreed!
Very well said! o7
I remember war 101ish. I had a balista that i wanted to turn into an IST, and i asked if they knew where a pad was, and i didn't get a response. i got a gun put to my head. Always fun
Oof! Sorry to hear that! I see lots of public pads now days. Think it has changed a bit since facilities were first introduced.
Good call on researching and doing the tutorial! I’m sure the research part helped a lot!
