At AONTAS, learner voice is at the heart of everything we do. This Learner Stories series is dedicated to showcasing the voices of diverse learners and giving them a space to tell their stories in their own words.
In this episode, you'll meet Petey, a learner with the Social Therapeutic Horticulture Programme, an initiative that supports people on their addiction recovery journeys.
Run by Tipperary ETB and the HSE, the Social Therapeutic Horticulture Programme uses gardening as a tool to improve mental health and foster practical skills. Due to the success of the programme, it won an AONTAS STAR Award 2024 in the Health & Wellbeing category, and was featured at Bord Bia Bloom in 2023.
