I remember seeing this in the theater. People were lined up outside to see this movie. The hype was incredible. When the lights were dimmed and we heard that mortal kombat yell, oh man the cheers were crazy. It was incredible.
I remember seeing this in the theater with my cousin, and the moment this intro started, we were hooked! I remember thinking, "I don't care what happens during the rest of this movie. I'm in!" Whenever I saw the New Line Cinema logo come up after 1995, I would think (and occasionally yell) "MORTAL KOMBAT!" LOL!
I love the fact that I grew up in the 90s best decade to be a kid we had the best music the best movies the best tv shows such great time is so nostalgic seeing this intro remembering this was the first movie I watched at a movie theater when I was 7 years old I loved it 🎉🎉🥹great memories
I remember watching this in the movie theatres when I was in elementary school. Bro and I begged mom and dad to take us. They finally agreed. Mom fell asleep, dad loved it lol. Also the crowd going wild during the intro. Brings a tear to my eye.
You can talk crap about the CGI used back in 1995 but god damn that intro is amazing and well put together to make you really get into the movie. The movie itself is very well done and contained within the MK1 and MK2 stories.
You just had to be there......seeing this as a kid in the theatre was epic af. Such an attention getter. Made all the parents who didnt even care get into the film a lil more
I get goosebumps hearing this intro everytime just like at the theater in 1995! It was so packed and then you had the next group waiting in the hallway!!!
This is one of those intros that instantly grabs you by the balls! Still to this day It catches me off guard and pumps be up instantly. I loved this film.
Because of this, I have always remembered the New Line cinema logo. Best part is after the "Excellent!". The music there, I just remember being in the theater going crazy. :D
I'll never forget that feeling I had when I saw this come up on screen for the first time. Video game movies have had a bumpy track record over the years to say the least, but to every video game kid in the 90s this was the baddest motherfucking thing we'd ever seen.
My dad and I got it the week it came out on VHS and me being 3 at the time just being glued to the tv while watching it and doing little tournaments with my action figures GOD THE 90's ROCKED
I remember being a kid wathcing this movie in the theater and the opening credits pop up. The flaming dragon simbol appears and this music starts playing. Bunch of kids screaming in the theater. It's one of the greatest memories I have from my childhood
I saw this movie back in 1999 on TV and it was my introduction to the MK series. Since then I played all core games and I'm big fan of the MK franchise
I came to the theaters in 1995 as a teenager expecting nothing but a flop. And I came out dancing to an extremely catchy beat, kicking the walls Liu Kang’s style and shouting “get over here!” with everyone around looking at me thinking I was nuts. This is unforgettable.
I went with my best friend to see this in Theaters in 1995, I was 13. Everyone including us jumped up out of our seats and yelled when the “Mortal Kombat” yell started. Best intro to any movie ever!
The casting for this film was so on point. Even the ones that were different than their game version (like Shang Tsung) had a fleshed out personality and were all interesting and had carisma. They all did great. This film truly had a soul. That’s what makes it a classic that’s enjoyed to this day. PS: and man, you just can’t, and shouldn’t, forget this intro.
The voice that keeps yelling Mortal Kombat is Kyle Wyatt. He did it first in the 1993 Mortal Monday commercial then The Immortals sampled it and pitched it down a couple times to make the yell deeper for the song, which is the version you hear in the track.
Being 5 years old kid at 1995, watching this on VHS. This techno opening was so mindblowing, especially how it was very different from slow intros of any other movies. Just straight to the action!!!
I remember the day I saw it on opening day in 1995 and this intro kickass as everyone was hype when the guy scream......MORTAL KOMBAT.....u had to be there
Here's to 30 years of one of the greatest fighting games of all time! To this day, this will always be our battlecry...
*_MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!!!!_*
If I were older I’d drink to that!
I grew up with MK, I will die an MK fan. Mortal Kombat 4life!
@@UltimateShadow10 Which console did you play on? I played on the Genesis, with the infamous ABACABB code, to unlock "Arcade Mode".
GOOSEBUMPS
Oh yes! It was!
That' s how movie openings were made in the 90's... And they were awesome.
Nick Duracell And what do you think about Street Fighter? 😂
Fingol firn It’s so bad it’s good. Ham and cheese all around.
I watched it so many times in the 00's (I was born in 98) so nostalgic
Yep. You could tell they really cared about the intro
💥🔥💥 It Rocks !!! 💥🔥💥
Man I remember being a kid in the theater when this intro opened up every kid in the theater just lost their shit with adrenaline and emotion. The 90s were a hell of a time to be a kid
You and me both. My jaw hit the floor when I saw this in theaters as a kid.
Sunday morning cartoons were the best as well with Batman The Animated Series and X-men The Animated Series.
Oh good. Glad I wasn't the only one
Same. 90s was just something else
Letting the intro play over the New Line logo was such a badass way to start the movie.
Tell me about and MORTAL KOMBAT sent shivers down my spine 🔥
If only more movies would start that way...
Seriously, Everytime I see New Line Cinema's title screen to any movie I can only think of this opening
@@rmj7 Yeah, the soft orchestral fanfare was lame. New Line needed to stick with the MK theme.
The way the announcer saying "FINISH HIM" synced with the "A Turner Company" subtitle appearing under the New Line logo was kinda cool.
Remember that the whole cinema got crazy ... we played the games for two years and than this intro...amazing!
Universal City, opening weekend. It was crazy.
FOURTEEN STREET 0:06 really?
Its gonna happen again in 2021!
Best movie intro I can remember!
Ace B 0:06-0:08 me too.

Hey yea they where, 90’s was some of the best times growing up as a kid.
S4r0m 16 0:07 well, I saw this movie on 📀, when I was 15 years old.
I remember being a teenager watching this in theaters opening night. The crowd was hype watching this
I'm honestly jealous I wasn't old enough or alive to be able to witness that type of hype at the theater That movie is Badass in my opinion
I was 4 when the first film came out , so missed out to see it in the cinema aha
30 years later this intro is still good and it’ll never get old!
Probably the best opening to any video game movie ever.
Greatest film intro of all time.
Seriously the best opening to a movie ever…if this didn’t get you pumped up for what was to come, you have no pulse
Yup

I broke my VHS device replaying this. Grounded for 2 weeks.
I love it

I'm so proud someone else did too

Not gonna lie this has to be the best intro to any movie so far..
Yes. A 1 out of 10 I give this music intro a 10. It's the best MK movie intro. #1
Ngl, even rivaling Terminator 2 for me personally
Theres top gun maverick too!
In the beginning when it screamed “Mortal Kombat!” everyone cheered.
My old man, 42 years old, got up and screamed when it started.
@@nicksimmons4491 that’s awesome
The next Mortal Kombat movie has to have this intro. “Really”!
Agree.
The theaters would geek out lol
It better

Yeah it would be a serious missed opportunity if this kinda of intro isn’t in it and
I remember watching this in the movie theatres when I was in elementary school. Bro and I begged mom and dad to take us. They finally agreed. Mom fell asleep, dad loved it lol. Also the crowd going wild during the intro. Brings a tear to my eye.

the tension the feels of seeing this after so many years classic never gets old hands down best thing ever.
That intro never get old 🔥🔥🔥
Oh God, I loved this opening and MK music theme so much as a child! Years passed - nothing changed.
It's called having confidence in the product! What a way to start a movie!
Hands down best intro ever. Probably the best video game based movie ever
first movie i've seen in a cinema, best intro until today. goosebumps
As the music started, all audience started fighting each other !!

Yes. It’s good and well done even for the new generation it looks great.
I remember being a kid seeing, and hearing this part in the theater after constantly playing the games for two years. That was fucking epic

Good old times

remember at the time I was little kid, song was everywhere when the movie came out and that intro. JUST BADASS!!!
Links595 They used to play this at the skating rink in the 90’s and we would haul ass in circles.
way better than the street fighter movie
Way better
Agreed
Only good thing about the Street Fighter 2 was Raul Julia.
As a street fighter I agree its sad we can't get a decent street fighter movie
@@grease430 check out Street Fighter Assassin's Fist it's pretty good

This and blade intro
I wish this was like the new movie. They didn’t even play the theme when the letters of mortal Kombat showed up :(
So. Epic. Cannot describe it - there hasn't been any title card that beats this to date.
Mortal Kombat was good.
is good, its is
It was awesome, the sequel Annihilation just sucked
This intro is better than the reboot trailer.
MK without this song is not MK.
mk with only the song is basically just an awesome song.
Because of this, I have always remembered the New Line cinema logo.
Best part is after the "Excellent!". The music there, I just remember being in the theater going crazy. :D
RIP New Line Cinema.
I remember everyone went crazy in the movie theater!!! Sigh 😔 good times
This theme better play in the reboot movie
For real!
It's kind of teased when Scorpion says "get over here", the beat is very similar.
No
It will be. It was confirmed by Benjamin Wallfisch (official composer) of the movie.
It's a cliche club mix version they use
I'll never forget that feeling I had when I saw this come up on screen for the first time. Video game movies have had a bumpy track record over the years to say the least, but to every video game kid in the 90s this was the baddest motherfucking thing we'd ever seen.
Literally this lone opening is better than whole Mk 2021 movie
Hell yes!!
NOW that's how you start off a fun ass martial arts movie with an iconic yell, and I loved every second of this movie.
This is JUST the intro. It had absolutely no business going this hard.
This was a top 5 moment in my life at the age of 12 when I saw this intro in the theater. Watching this takes me right back. Epic.
Awe man, I hate that I was still swimming in the sack when this hit the theaters😩
Damn, this beat STILL goes hard in 2021. 😌👌🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Как же это было круто 👍 Да это и сейчас очень круто
What a hell of a way to open a movie! New Line hasn't opened a movie with amount of epicness since.
This intro single handedly made up for the fact this was a PG-13 film and assured you will have a good time.
