Toni Braxton is the queen of R&B to me, my 2nd favorite female vocalist of all-time behind Whitney Houston. She is a living legend. For 30 years, she's given us beautiful, heartfelt love songs.
You can't "unhear" "unfeel" or "unsee" Toni Braxton, once you have heard her music, it's life changing, the lyrics, her voice, and such a beautiful lady. She should be considered a legend. But we need to support her new music by buying it - not just reminiscing with her old classics. We show artists our love by buying. After listening to this I am committed to buying whatever her last/recent album is.
where is she nowadays? we do need to buy her music..she needs to come back :-( i love taylor swift too but she's all i ever hear.. i miss toni's groove!! awesome music she made w/ Babyface
I can't believe I've just seen this comment. I had an eerily similar thought just a few minutes before reading your comment. You are so right that once you hear, feel, see Toni Braxton, you can't unhear, unfeel, unsee her. Just a few minutes before reading your comment, I was thinking that once you open yourself up completely to this gifted lady's incredible ability to sing the way she does with such passion, emotion and sincerity, and with her stunning beauty, it just goes right to your heart and soul, and once that happens you can't close it again or undo it (and what person in their right mind would want to anyway). You're right, it IS life changing, and a little bit surreal as well. I didn't catch Toni Braxton's debut album in '93, so I didn't even hear of her until her second album was released in '96. I bought it quite soon after its release and just loved her gorgeous voice straight away, and noticed that she was obviously so beautiful. But I didn't realise just how uniquely special she was even amongst other greats of that era, and that her stunning and heartaching voice and beauty are such a rare combination indeed, which is probably a once in multiple generations type of occurrence. I just wish I had bought her debut album when it was first released back in '93 and listened to it intently by immersing myself in her voice and trying to learn more about this incredible woman, and then listening to the songs over and again until my heart aches and it's all too much. This happened quite recently. I realised she's like an angel or something, and that exceptionally gifted people like her are such rarities among rarities. I almost can't stop thinking about her. She has changed my perception of life in general. Thank you Toni Braxton. Love you, genius. Maybe Angels really do exist, as corny and cliched as it sounds. She is more than just a great singer, she is a genuine icon and legend, and her incomparable voice and music can help to mend a broken heart and soul after suffering such a devastating loss, which is what happened to my family and me a few years ago.
Toni Braxton is so beautiful her voice stands on it's own no competition is needed. Many compare her to Anita Baker I say they both have exquisite voices no need to compare. They both are lovely ladies with lovely voices. yasssssssla

Toni Braxton has to be one of the best female r&b singers I've had the pleasure of being in time to listen to, I feel bad for the people who missed hearing her bless the mic.
Brandon Johnson i feel privileged to have witnessed her in the 90's. I was young when this song got out like 7 years old I think. I just was captivated immediately. Didn't even speak a word of English but I was sold.
53 yr old white male here. First heard this song when it came out in the 90's on a road trip from Toronto to Victoria. Fell in love with Toni and R&B . Before Mariah, Whitney and Celine. She's still my fave..
Yeah, I was confused because I remember as a kid another different version that didn't have the 1930's noir in it that they played on tv all of the time on The Box. That was the only one I knew of but it's not on RUclips. I never knew there were different versions of music videos to this song.
@kristineilochi4615 THERE are 3 versions on youtube: The official US video (black & white), the international version, and a remix version for urban audiences (BET) .
Gosh, there will never be another Toni Braxton! The absolutely perfect tone and power of her voice, combined with the emotional inflection she puts forth, is unequaled to this day. Plus, she was perhaps the most beautiful and sexy performer ever.
I just heard this song for the first time and when I heard the full song I repeated the song for 7 times and I am so in love with this another sad love song thanks to Toni and her voice that got into this music tone and got me feeling the soul of the music
I know that a performer's look must shift with the flavor of the day; but I love the simplicity and elegance of her style from this time period. It is classic and timeless!
I remember in the mid 90s my mama use to ALWAYS play Toni Braxton. She was her favorite artist and still is!! Thank u Toni for such a memorable childhood 🙌💋💕❤️👑
Have always loved this song yet it's bittersweet. It's all I heard playing in the Parris Island supply store in 1993 when my son graduated from Marines boot camp. Then he suddenly died in 1994 at age of 19. He's also the one who introduced me to Sade's "Kiss of Life" (telling me, Mom, you gotta hear this; you'll love it). It remains my favorite song.
Much like her (then-) contemporaries, Mariah and Whitney, all Toni had to do was open her mouth, and people INSTANTLY knew who it was. Her gift for melody REALLY shines on this one, where her silvery pipes open out on a shimmering, simmering melody waxing and waning between ecstatic and melancholy, until a swooping bridge brings her soaring voice to a whole new level of stunning. This song, along with "Un-Break My Heart" and "Breathe Again" never gets old.
What a treasure!!!!!!! We sure do treasure Beautiful, GOD gifted, talented artist such as Toni, offering a groovy, vibrant, radiant, backdrop to smooth us right through the nineties, ever so sweetly!!!!!!
