45305 Express - GCR Last Hurrah Gala 2018

After a long period of maintenance over the summer of 2018, 45305 returned to service at the GCR's Last Hurrah Gala with a faultless performance.
On the Saturday afternoon 45305 recreated an express service consisting of 8 Mk1 coaches, non stop to Leicester North. With plenty of other traffic on the line especially around Swithland Sidings, it's almost like going back in time. This video provides a slightly different view of the line.

Loved the climb up to Birstall, must have been great to crest that back in the day and out onto the huge embankment beyond as views open up on the short coast down to Leicester Central Station!
