Now this is a book I can 1000% percent get behind!!!! I love this book. My players REALLY enjoyed their time across the crab lands defending the wall and espionage into lands of taint. I miss running the game!Current group doesn't like campaigns, so i am running a starter box of the one ring (also a great system FYI) but L5R is my happy place as a GM.

I have used the great wall as an intro to what L5R is like hahaha (mixed with GOT houses vying for power etc)

I totally agree it was a direction from the writers more so than players... which is fine, as I as the GM was the only one familiar with previous additions of the game. I LOVED the original 1st edition narratives for example of the clans and the way they weaved a story into the books for all the clans, really made the world feel alive. The current edition is still my favorite rules for the universe, but I MISS the original style :)

Shadowlands is the perfect starting place for players new to Rokugan coming from D&D.
