    I have always disliked the Polonaise Fantasie for some reason.

      Give it a chance! When a genius like Chopin writes something “out of the ordinary”, in a much loved genre, he means something special. Plus, I think it is his last polonaise; like a compendium, legacy, testament. All the best!
