I remember watching this when I was 6. We had a tv with an antennae that we had to fiddle with we only had 1 channel CBC. ❤️

Mr. Dressup became a Canadian icon, millions of kids in Canada of my generation grew up with Ernie Coombs. He will be in our hearts forever. I remember him drawing, from nothing by the time he’s finished it was awesome. When he drew, he made it look so easy. #ThankYouMrDressup💙
the reason Ernie Coombs was so good at these is because before he was an children's entertainer he was a painter and artist
That's the reason I preferred him to Mr. Rogers. I loved the artistic and creative bent! Also lived Mr. Dressup homself! ❤ Back in the 80s! ❤❤❤❤

So tonight I was having horrific memories of my traumatic childhood like I do every night. And suddenly remembered watching Mr dress up and feeling joy while watching him. I don't remember many times feeling joy as a kid so I will watch this now and remember. Thank you Mr. Dress up xoxoxo
So glad you found something good and wholesome to replace the trauma. I do this with murder she wrote, matlock, am columbo, today special, polka dot door, and now mr dressup. I've created a whole new fantasy for myself to get away from the other bad experiences

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting this on here. My 5 month old adores Mr Dressup! I grew up loving him and now my girl can watch him! She absolutely adores the intro music, and every time she hears the sound of his voice she turns her head and watches him!! Whenever he sings she talks a lot and or sings. Thank you. Seriously.
I heard that Mr. Dressup was given a posthumous spot on the canadian walk of fame today. I immediately started crying. He died when I was in preschool and I remember sending him a balloon up to heaven. He had such a profound effect on my childhood. I hope current children's programming is as wholesome as this is.

Felt great watching my favourite episode after most of my life, thanks! Always nice to remember how it was when we didn't have to worry about adult things and just watch tv all day and play in the rain all day. Great times.
Wow just listening to this theme song brings me back. I was born in 1987 and just realize how big this show was in my life growing up.

My kids loved Mr Dress-up, we watched the Christmas Dress-up on tape for years. We had no cable or off air where we lived in the lower 48, but we had a 10ft satellite dish in the back yard and loved all the CBC programming in the 80's and early 90's. Thanks for posting and thanks for the memories Mr Dress-up.
I loved watching Mr. Dressup...I watched way before 1995 though....I watched in the 60's...:) My girls watched in the 90's...;) I only had 3 channels to watch when I was a little gal. CBC, CTV & the French channel. LOL!
I remember the first time I saw Mr. Dressup and how I wish I could bring it back to the States with me.

Sad that very few episodes of Mr. Dressup are available on video streaming services or on DVD or anywhere. Generations of Canadian kids grew up watching Mr. Dressup every day! Ernie Coombs (Mr. Dressup) was adored by millions of Canadian children 😍👏
Such a shame that the legacy of this beloved children's program is not being preserved (exploited?) in the same way as certain American based children's programs. I'd love to be able to binge watch old episodes of Mr. Dressup! 😍

I've been trying to find this show for years!! Growing up with only a few channels on the Michigan/Candian border this was one of my favorites. None of my friends knew about this show and I thought I would never find it again 😭 this is awesome
FeistyMongoose Port Huron Michigan here. Half of our channels were Canadian the other half Detroit local television. Lamb chops, Mr. dress up and Reading Rainbow all good shows as a kid back in the 90s. Life just ain’t the same anymore
I really enjoyed watching this wonderful video. I started watching Mr. Dress up in 1967. The show ran until 1997. My son watched him as well. Such fond memories of a great children's entertainer.

I watched this show throughout the entire 1980s and when I was a teenager in the '90s, if I had the day off or came home early from school, I actually watched this once in awhile 😅

I will never forget the time I got to meet him, and when I wrote me dress up a letter and he wrote me back. He was truly a huge influence of my creativity and how I viewed relationships growing up. I’m turning 29 in a little more than a month and his show still has so much value. When I have kids one day I want to show them Mr Dressup and hope they’ll love him as much as I did
