I seen Bruce 3 yrs ago from the pit in Seattle. He is one of the greatest rock stars of all time. He put on a great show. Some rock stars can play the music but the greats feel the music! Watch Bruce in the intro almost 40 yrs after ‘78’s version he still feels the notes. It just boils out of his pores. I was slightly disappointed in that he did not play this song. Probably my favorite Springsteen song. I believe he should play this at every show as one of his encores! It is such a powerful song with the ‘78 intro!!! I agree that all the ‘78 versions on RUclips the intro is more powerful than this version, but the ending is this one just flat ass kicks ass!!!! That being said it was almost 40 years ago and Bruce was full of piss and vinegar. This version’s video is amazing quality and Nils just kills the ending!
Great videos, MagikRat! Really appreciate all you do for us springsteen junkies. Wife and I flew out to the show from Austin, had a great time. Just curious, what do you use to record these?
Bruce is a live performer with few equals and he plays with great passion and confidence. But if you close your eyes and listen to the opening and middle solos with no preconceived bias, they sound quite awful.
He butchered the opening solo but rallied for the middle solo... I love Bruce and find his guitar playing lacking but he makes up for it with emotion in his solos.
Can you and are you able to play the elec. guitar better than the Boss? Most likely not and my point is, do not judge and or critique anyone unless you can supersede them.
just when I thought I had seen all the great videos from Springsteen; I come across this one. Thanks for sharing
Bruce must be one of the worlds most underrated guitarists!!
Funny, where did you get that from ? Who did that statement that you referrerd to ?
Probably the best -78 version since 78!

Seems that Bruce is asking for more volume in his monitors during the intro? Maybe he couldnt hear himself well or the piano

@@HighSpeedNoDrag Of course you can judge/critique someone without having to supersede them, as long as it's constructive criticism.
